How are these $80 games working out for you?

Genuinely curious... are you buying any game at $80?  Not bundled with anything else... you cannot count the bundles.

So far, I've only fallen for it once. I had to have Mario Kart World to play when I bought the Switch 2. Since then I've not fallen for it and will likely remain resistant at this price point. It'll take some serious first party Nintendo magic to catch me again.

I technically haven't fallen for it at all yet, @targetrasp .  Mario Kart World came with my Switch... I couldn't bring myself to buy it otherwise.  I think I will be holding the line on all this madness

When I think in terms of dollars per hour played I'm able to almost justify a title I'll really dive into. Anymore though that's never often. worse yet, about 90% of the games I think I'll sink tons of time in become more back log.

You know... that's not a bad way to look at it.  I just don't for video games because I see Time as resource that is not replaceable... therefore, it has more value.  Even with this considered... I would have a hard time spending $80 on a video game.  MAYBE this is because of history.  I know N64 and Super Nintendo had some games near this price point.  I have paid near this price point for games in the past.

Ugh... now that I'm talking through that, maybe I wouldn't 100% say no.  But it would have to be really awesome to pay that much.  IE I remember N64 Killer Instinct I paid $75-80 for that game. BUT I believe that was Day 1 and MSRP was lower. Most N64 games were not at that MSRP and you had full carts, color manuals and boxes.  Today, you maybe get a disc and case and case insert... but no longer a manual.  Discs are much cheaper too.
