My Family and I are on a physical media kick. I presently only have one streaming service, Disney plus. The monthly fee is going up, or has at this point. The channel is not used enough to justify the cost. $20 a month can purchase one to two DVDs or Blu Rays, which would cover about the use that we find by having their streaming service. There are those shows that I occasionally re-watch. I need those on DVD/Blu Ray media. I have a partial physical library that needs expanding. On eBay I can usually find very good deals and many times it is brand new sealed. Example, I received a copy of Winter Soldier today, $5 free shipping. Black Adam is on its way, $3 plus shipping. Finding those types of deals $20 can go a long way. Disney has been faithful about putting their stuff out there. Streaming services are not a guarantee that they will continue having that "one movie" that you get the urge to watch. As the monthly fee continues to increase, and that includes all streaming services, my fixed income may not keep up, especially when I need that money in other areas. Yeah I know the consequences of building that library of physical media, where do you stash it. That I am willing to deal with. There are many good movies and stuff that they no longer put out on DVDs. But it is out there somewhere used and somebody is selling it.
So in the coming months, and going into the new year, we will be on the hunt.

Is anybody else feeling the fever?

Funnily enough, I'm taking a spare PC this holiday weekend and getting it set up with JellyFin as a test. I plan on ripping some of my movies and putting it in my bedroom.

Although, I'm not doing it to get completely off streaming. Streaming still has content that unfortunately will never get released physically or requires a long time for it to be released on physical. It's more for having access to all of my movies without needing the internet.
