And here we are nearing the end of February already...Mario Day coming in a couple of weeks! They missed a big opportunity releasing the Mario movie in April instead of on Mario Day!

Lately been playing mostly Fifa 22 (GamePass), Elden Ring, and @Grindspine, @SpartanEvolved and I just finished playing some Back 4 Blood which was fun but hard.

Haha I love Pedro Pascal...I thought this was hilarious and I would actually love a dark Mario movie or show haha.

Quote from: Grindspine on February 12, 2023, 02:34:09 PMThe antagonist was a little bit ridiculous in being overpowered. Just happening to find a genius MIT student who rivals Tony Stark and can build an Iron Man suit is total convenient plot armor, figuratively and literally.[/spoilers]

I hated that character in every way for the same reason. I suppose she'll be back but I would really prefer not. The new Disney "Mary Sue".

Quote from: BLUEVOODU on February 12, 2023, 06:01:34 PMMy favorite part is Zombie Strange lol...

Agreed haha.

The movie was fun and entertaining but I don't love making Wanda the villain so quickly. Everything is so disjointed in the MCU right now and the Wandavision show didn't really build at all to that, it was seeming to build up Agatha as a villain and the movie barely addressed Wandavision or Agatha at all.

I thought it was pretty good. I guess the plot hole that bothers me a little bit is that for all intents and purposes, Black Panther had already been dead for five years once after the snap. Who was in charge then? Did they already have one funeral after the snap? Why wasn't there another Black Panther already? It seems like that should have already been resolved once.

Fantastic movie; great effects, great story, great action, great music, great everything. Hans Zimmer is the man. Saw it in theaters for the fourth total time this week lol. Still had 10 people in the small theater.

Saw it in theaters. It was okay but got weird towards the end. Reminded me of that one Cloverfield movie with John Goodman where it was like a cool apocalyptic movie until they brought in the aliens.

I have started Clone Wars probably four times, even as a go-to-sleep white noise show, and the first season is so boring that I make it about 6 episodes and give up. I also don't love using cartoons as canon. Thoughts?

I agree that The Expanse was great. Just finished Better Call Saul and that was great too.

General Discussion / Re: Obi-Wan

My motto for the last 5-6 years has been "any Star Wars is better than no Star Wars" given that we went a long time between ROTJ and TPM and between ROTS and TFA. That said, there have been some very below average series and movies but I'd still rather have them then nothing.

Obi-Wan as a series was overall pretty average but like most recent Star Wars shows, starts slow but finishes strong. The Reva sub-plot was fine but took too long to pay off. I agree with @CreepinDeth that there's a big issue with the fates of the characters being known, but they did that last episode extremely well so I think it was worth it.

Since we know Obi-Wan is invincible between now and ANH, bring in some other characters (maybe Maul?) and just make him a badass for a couple more seasons.

I like the show because it knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. The fourth wall breaks are perfect and the cameos are great.

However, there seems to be no long-term plot or overarching deep story. Let's go!

I've never owned any Playstation and I highly doubt that's going to change so the question is more do I buy the Xbox or just sit it out?

Vehicles are back after being disabled for 3-4 days. I saw the glitch - if you drove a vehicle in a certain part of the map the whole map would crash and kick everyone, including the glitcher, back to the lobby haha. I actually think there are other places where this glitch can be done that haven't been discovered yet since I've seen the same server error in matches since this happened.

We actually played better without the vehicles but there was a lot more running haha.

It sounds like nobody really knew what he was battling, even Disney, up until a couple of months ago.  Good for him for not letting the last few years of treatment and whatnot getting in the way of living his life.

@mastermario - what is Schitt's creek?? Lol...

HILARIOUS comedy show with Eugene Levy and his son along with the mom from Home Alone. 6 seasons and the show just ended. Basically it's about a rich family that lost all their money for whatever reason and they had to move to a town in the middle of nowhere called Schitt's Creek. They'd bought the town years ago as a joke and now it's like their only asset haha.

The city of Schitt's Creek is named after their mayor, Roland Schitt, who is married to Jocelyn Schitt lmao.

General Discussion / Re: Call Of Duty - Cold War

I haven't really followed how Warzone will work with Cold War but my understanding is that there will probably be a Cold War-themed new Warzone map at launch and the Battle Royale modes won't be independent of each other, is that correct?

If true, I have mixed feelings on this. I wish they wouldn't have thrown out the original Expanded Universe (Legends now, I guess) because there were some damn good storylines that came out of that. I wish they'd even have tried to use that as a model for the new series even if it wasn't the exact same stories. But, we got what we got and I've accepted that. I don't know if starting a fresh reboot with a much older Luke and Han (if Harrison Ford would even want to do it) and no Leia or a re-casted Leia would really do any more justice than the new series.

Still playing this quite a bit. The Season 4 map changes are pretty good. A couple of new weapons have been launched in the last couple weeks.

I will say Verdansk is starting to get a bit stale. It's about time for a new map.

The one thing that frustrates me a little bit is that if someone on your squad lags out, you're done. No chance to rejoin. Even PUBG would let you rejoin and that's been around for years.

Caught up on Blacklist. Restarted Designated Survivor after watching part of Season 1 a couple years ago. Watched WestWorld (highly recommend). Catching up on Star Trek: Discovery and watched Star Trek Picard. Watched Ozark, Altered Carbon, Last Ship, Travelers, The Expanse.  Schitt's Creek was a pretty good comedy, too.

I saw it twice. I liked it and I agree that it was better than the last two. I think it was about the best they could do to salvage the series.

I'm mostly disappointed that they had sooo much good material they could have used in the old canon and they went this direction though.  They could have used SOME of it. The whole series could have been a Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
