This is pretty awesome @retro junkie !  In the past, I was very fond of the Lunar games, though I really didn't get through them or that far into the stories.  The PS1 collector edition packages were pretty awesome as well.

It's cool to see that you bought it up front! AND are excited to play  :happydance:  Now that's commitment lol  :great:

I am definitely interested, but that extra time is low.  Are you still playing?  What do you enjoy most about it?  ARE you enjoying it as much on the Switch?

Quote from: Mai Valentine on June 07, 2025, 08:39:08 AMI did end up going to see it. I really enjoyed it. It had the right amount of action, humor, and character driven moments.
@Mai Valentine  That's awesome and agree!  Hi... I'm Bob lol  ;D

Quote from: Grindspine on June 09, 2025, 07:01:04 PMIt was good, better than the most recent Capt. America movie. The actors all carried the roles pretty well.

What else did you both like about the movie?  The Red Guardian is becoming a favorite for me.  I can't wait to see where else this will go... and What Bob will become.  That has an interesting potential

@CreepinDeth @SpartanEvolved @mastermario  --> Thoughts?

Quote from: retro junkie on May 23, 2025, 10:57:42 PMI am not the one.  :)) I have been scared to watch it. I have been burned so many times by Marvel and the way they have churned out some of the poor stuff recently. Whenever they release it on Disney+ I will check it out. I am not into going to the theater much anymore, especially since we do not have one locally. Really Thunderbolts is the movie I am looking forward to...................
lol come on @retro junkie

Quote from: Grindspine on June 09, 2025, 07:22:58 PMAnthony Mackie did a great job reprising the role and adding the mantle of Capt. America to his Falcon role. Harrison Ford did not impress in this role. The writing was okay for a Marvel movie, but didn't leave me wowed.
It wasn't the best... but I thought it was a pretty great movie.  Not sure about wowed... and they definitely did hold back a bit.  But I definitely dug the direction of the series so far.

The mission impossible steel book would be awesome!  I have the collection before Dead Reckoning Part 1 and Final Reckoning (Dead Reckoning part 2??)

Thankfully, I was able to see these in matinee... and it was fairly cheap to go see it

No one else saw this movie?  @mastermario @Grindspine @SpartanEvolved

This one has to be on @retro junkie's radar!

Retro Gaming and Hardware / Original Play-It-Loud GB Mod!!...
Last post by retro junkie - June 09, 2025, 04:31:21 PM
Some years ago, I am not sure how long it has been, there was a Peddler's Mall locally. For those who don't know, it was sort-of an indoor flea market, or garage sale, sort-of place. It had multiple tables set up with booths for vendors to sell their stuff (junk). Most of it looked like someone cleaned out their attic, basement, garage, etc. On one of those tables I saw this old 1989 Nintendo Gameboy (Play-it-loud series) marked $1.50. I had to get it.
This old gameboy was plagued by that original sweet pea green screen. It was hideous to play unless you had perfect light. It was best played outside in the bright sunlight. But it was the most popular game system of its day. It dominated the market selling an estimated 118.69 million units. From 1989 to 2003 it was the affordable, heavily supported game system to own.
A week ago I saw a kit online to upgrade this console with a backlit screen for a reasonable price. BOOM!! I got it and had a few minutes today and did this upgrade. These things are good for puzzle games to keep the old brain thinking. And solitaire,I like playing solitaire on these things. After this upgrade it is now worth about $100 on eBay.

News / Leaks / Rumors / Re: Nintendo Switch 2
Last post by Mai Valentine - June 07, 2025, 08:45:12 AM
From what I saw on launch, the Switch 2 shouldn't actually be that bad to get (at least until around Christmas when everything will be hard to get). We had 26 systems for launch at my store; 19 Mario Kart bundles and 7 of the regular. The bundle was more popular and sold out within three hours. The regular one took five hours. But that's at least 2 1/2 more hours than I expected (I thought we would sell our inventory the first 30 minutes).

I was tempted to get one but decided I'll wait until either there's a fun special edition or until Pokemon generation 10 comes out. I don't expect that until late 2026 though. By then more games will be out as well so it's a win win IMO.

@Mai Valentine - Did you see it?  If so, what were your thoughts?

I think it stands alright on its own.  There are definitely tie-ins with the MCU and at least 1 of the older series on Disney+.  I won't spoil it just in case.
