General Discussion / Re: Happy Thanksgiving!

It was early Thanksgiving Day morning. Sun was just peeking over the horizon. There was a chill in the air and dew was still on the grass, standing there I could see my breath. I slowly zip up my flight suit and put on my gloves. It is not the first time I've climbed into this cockpit. But the wait is over and no more mister nice guy. It has started, the mindless destruction. Hordes of aliens have entered our part of the galaxy. Aliens travel in hordes folks, believe me. They don't sneak around at night abducting innocent victims to probe. Wake up people! Aliens are not that nice. They enter quadrants of the galaxy destroying everything in their path. And it is “always” our part of the galaxy! WHY DON'T THEY LEAVE US ALONE? WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? You want to get probed and violated by an alien, fine! Go ahead. The only time I would rather be probed by aliens is as my preferred choice, brace yourself, it's better than being at Walmart on Black Friday morning in the middle of those insane crowds. But me, first and foremost, I would rather be on the trigger side of a laser cannon. There is no screaming from that position, they scream. I call the shots. I yell out the victory cry. Maybe the battle ship I fly is nothing more than a prototype, SO WHAT? I only know one thing. I am the only resistance standing between them and earth. So go ahead and enjoy your Thanksgiving Day Holiday. I got your back millions of miles away in the deep darkness of space blowing up all their spaceships, ripping through their armadas, frying their guts, and causing mayhem among their ranks. Plowing through millions. Have peace of mind, I'm doing my job.
Have a nice Thanksgiving Holiday!! Eat like no one is watching!!

So, after episode 6, Renee and I thought that was the complete series. I started seeing a bunch of reviews, as if the show was still happening. So, Renee and I just finished the second half of the season...

That show cultivated drama more effectively than anything I have seen. It was serious tension with a palpable, real-world feel, though it was still set in the Star Wars Empire era galaxy.

I am floored by how good that series was.

Also, at the end of the last episode, there is an end credits scene.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Helping around the kitchen today, chopping, preparing rolls, etc.
In between I have been playing Streets of Rage 2 on my Sega Genesis.
Looking forward to digging in. And we are very thankful.

castlevania was difficult for sure... there's a brick wall i run into late game that I just can't get past, even taking advantage of the rewind function on the anniversary collection i haven't been able to get past it. Super frustrating!

The NES TMNT was one of those games that I beat once, then never picked it up again. That game was hard beyond the point of challenging and far into the zone of being frustrating. I spent most of 5th grade trying to beat that game. I think that 7th grade was dominated by Castlevania III, then 8th grade into freshman year was Mega Man 7. Those three games were all a pain to beat. I remember Castlevania more fondly though.

I absolutely hated that level when that game was new, matter of fact I never revisited the game until the Cowabunga Collection just because of said level.

This time around it didn't seem so hard. I "cheated" and looked at a map because always ran out of time back tracking. As a kid, getting killed a billion times trying to sketch out a map was part of it. Unless Nintendo Power had a map you were completely blind. If there was one back then, I must have missed that issue or it was on the back of one of the posters hanging in my room.

Renee and I played through Turtles in Time in one sitting. There is a bit of nostalgia there, but that game's responsiveness has not aged well.

I think we'll have to go straight back to the TMNT arcade game. I spent so many quarters on that back in the nineties!

I do not want to ever play the NES original TMNT game by Ultra though. That water level still gives me the shivers!
