Title: Agent Carter
Post by: BLUEVOODU on April 16, 2021, 09:50:14 AM
I know Agent Carter came out awhile ago... and I really didn't hear much about this series... so I was not sure what to expect.   We started binge watching this series.  It is interesting... and a bit slower... however, worth a watch.  We are about half way through right now... so I cannot speak to all the episodes yet.

Have you watched or binged Agent Carter?    What are your thoughts?  Post it up!

I was trying to watch Agent Carter when it was on TV. Like so many other weekly tv series i eventually dropped off. Not really sure why, I just didn't make it. Now that its streamable I may try to watch it, It definitely wasn't bad.

It is a solid series and essential to understand later story arcs in Agents of Shield.  It also crosses over quite a bit with Captain America: Winter Soldier.

I thought it was pretty good but low ratings caused them to shut it down after two seasons so the storylines didn't get a chance to properly breathe.

It's more canon than Agents of Shield so it's worth watching if you're an MCU completionist.

yeah... I was surprised at how quickly the ended the seasons.  The ending was a bit rushed as well, so I figured they were running into issues like that. I wonder why it had low ratings.  It was pretty good while it lasted.  We have now finished the series.  I might need to go back and re-watch a couple of the episodes.  It was cool to see Jarvis have a role as well.

I haven't seen Agents of Shield yet, but looking to see how/where I can check that series out.

I loved Agents of Shield... it just seemed to run out of steam

It looks like Agents of Shield is still not on Disney+ when I searched for it.  I Wonder when that will be available.  I would like to catch this up... sounds like we will need an Agents of Shield topic.

@BLUEVOODU - It's on Netflix, unless you don't have that.

Turns out that Disney/Marvel have deemed Agent Carter not canon. I don't understand why but I guess maybe they're trying to distance themselves from non-Disney+ shows that are actually canon.

@CreepinDeth yeah... I don't have netflix.  I cannot get myself to do multiple services... except.... Disney+ crept in there.

I saw that Disney deemed Agent Carter (and a couple other things I believe) as "not canon."  That's a little odd, but we don't really see Agent Carter deal with A TON of the material from other Marvel movies. Maybe it's the thought that "there's not much here, so no canon status for you?"

@BLUEVOODU there are two seasons of Agent Carter on Disney +

The timeline did change. Cap went back and married her.

@CreepinDeth  --> I'm a little confused... I've now read the Character is considered canon, but the show is not?   I'm a tad confused at what is what anymore.

That's correct. Agent Peggy Carter is absolutely canon to the MCU but the show Agent Carter is not. If they want to they could just say it's a different universe where she doesn't marry Captain America.

Or... the timeline technically pre-dated Endgame... where Captain America goes back in time to do just that.   It's a pretty easy sell.  Technically, there would have been events, if history lived through them... re-written now or not, they would've happened in some historical fashion.
