Been playing a little of that and some Starcraft 2 (Mafia custom games). Also a little PUBG and Dying Light. Dying Light is friggin hard. More of a chore than a game haha.
Played a little bit of Monster Hunter World again this week. Beat my tempered Kirin quest and now just trying to do the great grind to get every high rank armor set.
Made Progress on:
Raiden V- PS4. Completed stages 1 and 2 before I had to quit.
92% of the way through Dying Light. Important note: it's friggin hard from the start and doesn't get much easier.
Also, have zero clue what the campaign is about since Spartan likes to skip all the cutscenes haha.
I got Dragoon and Red Mage to level 70 in FFXIV.

I'm on Balmung, which they had recently just opened again after being closed since the release of Stormblood. I'm not sure if it's still open now, at least for new character creation, but I think transfers can still be made if you already have a character on another server (although you do have to pay to transfer).

Yes he does lol... he also rushes everything in Dying Light so it's hard to loot without backup there.
Played Super Bomberman R on the switch. Made some progress in the single player campaign. Interesting how they 'evolved' the cut scenes over time. But playing multiple is super fun.

Yeah same. My FC is very active but we mostly use Discord to talk so the in-game chat is not as active, except for the one guy who can't get his mic to ever work properly so he replies in the game. And Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and sometimes Saturday nights are when most of us are online.

Super Bomberman R - Switch. We just beat Co-op Campaign Level 1 with Boss fight.

I received a new copy of Final Fantasy type-O HD this week, ordered it. I popped it in my Xbox One yesterday afternoon to load up and update, etc. I played it a while last night, late evening. Not sure I like the battle system. I was becoming a bit frustrated with it. Story and setting that you are introduced to, I can get into that. I like the mood the environment and graphics gives you. I let the console run while I watched something, so that it would complete the download. I was getting ready for bed deciding to retrieve the game form the console. It wouldn't come out!!! It was stuck!! I tried and tried but nothing would work!! I went to bed. When I woke this morning, day off and such, I started watching youtube videos on how to retrieve a stuck disc. I have been trying all morning and could not get anything to come out. I just happened to pick up the game case opening it and there was the game. Nothing was in the Xbox One. :o
I could not remember taking it out. What was supposed to be a relaxing morning turned into a stressful time for nothing!!! I still cannot remember doing this. I was tired from getting up and going int to work at 3:00Am. But surely not that tired.

And Burnout Paradise... sigh... I achieved 41% of the main game achievements yesterday (non-DLC). Addict... :o
Progressed in burnout Paradise remastered on ps4... class B license and 50%+ achievements achieved.
Lego lotr Vita - at Gondor now... and got to satisfyingly smack the steward of Gondor in the face whenever he said save yourselves and flee for your lives.

Ni No Kuni 2 - > 1 hour, at the open world looking map - decided to go up and check out that level 50 wyvern - immediately rage quit after being one shotted
Burnout Paradise - Still trying to love it - still just not loving it - played for another 15 minutes
Call of Duty WW2 - Played for 30 minutes, can't stop that stupid train
Sea of Thieves - didn't figure out how the game work till I set the controller down to watch a youtube video, came back just in time to watch a skeleton shoot me in the face
xbox 360 - kids wanted to try out oblivion - none of the rechargeable batteries had a charge, and all the play and charge cords were somewhere else

Today I made Spaghetti, took the daughter to cheer, and watched the son play Minecraft. Now i'm going to watch something on Prime or Netflix till I fall asleep. Games weren't good to me yesterday so we're taking some time apart!

Played some monster Hunter world and captured my first deviljho. His weapons look so fricking cool but it will take forever to get all the mats for them. @.@
I finished a few more COD WW2 levels today. I'm up to The Battle of the Bulge.
Downloaded PUBG Mobile. Pretty fun as well. I feel better at it than I think I am because I think they add several bots into your early rounds, but it's very similar to the actual game.

I mist tons of mementos and heroic acts but I feel like they'd be easy to get on regular if someone was so inclined. I was rushing through because my son was trying to finish first.

This particular game for the GB SP plays totally different from the others on the system. Eternal Night is a 2D side scroller. All of the others on the system are 3/4 overhead view. This game is excellent. Highly recommended if you are into side scrollers. You gain special moves when you find them in the levels. Your Spyro develops as you gain those moves.

I played Tetris Ultimate - Ps Vita.... I was trying to resurrect memories of Tetris DS. Didn't work. I'll write a little review on this soon.
Also, Lego Hobbit for the Vita... made a little more progress. I've said it before... it's different than other Lego games.

I've been alternating between Lightning Returns and the usual FFXIV.
In FFXIV I just got two more Eureka relic weapons finished (red mage and samurai).
In Lightning Returns I'm currently on day 7? Or maybe 8. I'm trying to get sidequests done since I'm stuck a bit on a few of the bosses.
I started making progress on Metroid Samus Returns last night... before I passed out... long days right now.
I'll make a topic on it... the game insert is pretty cool. It has the original Gameboy cover on 1 side (high quality too)... and the new cover on the other side.
The motion of the game is a little different from other Metroid games. It doesn't seem as smooth to my eyes. Again... more information on that as I play more and eventually create a topic on the game and play through.
Been slowly making progress on getting all the gear from Kulve Tarroth on MH:W.
Also been playing on World of Warcraft, and got my hunter to 110.
The COD kick continues - I blew through three more missions last night in Ghosts.

Finished Ghosts a few minutes ago and just realized MW2 and MW3 are not backwards compatible on the xbone. Trying to decide if I want to dig out the 360 or start up xcom or Kameo.
Now I remember why I preferred the 360 over the ps3... The achievement system is so much more satisfying then the ps3's trophies.

Working on Project X Zone. Just finished with chapter 6. I think there are like 41 chapters so I am just in the door. I do find the story and interchange between characters interesting. Enjoying this game.

I got her down to a QUARTER of her health earlier and then I died to some cheap shit, man. I'm gonna get her, her ass is mine. I also plan on 100%ing the game after I defeat her.
Still playing God of War mainly not rushing it went off exploring once I got to the Lake of Nine XD tho I did click on one thing then regretted it as got one punched from the monster XD
Been playing Overwatch again on and off mainly playing mystery heroes some times go into comp but solo queuing is a bit hit and miss with the team members your going to get

I started playing Fortnite for the first time tonight. It's alright. Still like PUBG better right now but I'll give it a good chance to change my mind. I feel like the learning curve is greater with Fortnight with all of the structure building and whatnot.

I just started Valkyria Chronicles and Destiny 2 up on the ps4 last night. Having to start all over on Valkyria because it's save was on the ps4 I gave my son and Destiny because it was cheap.

There's a patch for FFXIV this month so I've been trying to finish up my relic armor. Got warrior and white mage done, and now I'm almost done with red mage.
Actually been playing a bit of Pokemon Moon lately. Was watching someone play some pokemon on Youtube so I had an itch and never got around to actually beating it.
I've been playing a lot of Conan Exiles and Akiba's Beat on PS4 lately.
I took a break from some if the Lego games and have been playing 3DS Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

It just came out at the perfect time when I had nothing else to do. It was great... so much like the SNES Zelda game, but in many ways an improvement.
Still grinding on my crowns on Monster Hunter World. -_- Haven't gotten any in the past couple days.
Since I last posted I've gotten another 3 or 4 crowns in MH:W. I also started Danganronpa on my Vita because I've been watching one of my favorite YouTubers let's play it and it really made me want to experience everything for myself.
Also, I have House Flipper. It's weirdly satisfying.
Been playing mostly Overwatch still. Trying to get to level 25 so I can play competitive. At about 17 right meow.

@BLUEVOODU Not long. Less than 10 hours I'd say. I played about 3-4 hours this past Saturday and went from 17 to 24 and then finished up to 25 on Sunday.
You get an exp bonus of I believe 20% for playing in a "group" (can just be one person) and other bonuses for wins, kills, and consecutive games played so you can get there really fast if you're in a good team.
I haven't played much lately ... but I made some progress in Zelda a link between worlds 3ds.

That spring cleaning thing Steam was doing brought the game 10,000,000 back into my sights. I was 70% on the achievements and figured I could finish it off. Still at 70% after two days...
Started Kingdom Hearts 1.5 on PS4, done it before but haven't wanted to replay them for a while
Also started Little Nightmares, only just started seems a pretty creepy game at times love the atmosphere
I finally got around to playing The Last of Us (with the sequel coming soon). I just got to part where there's a clicker and a bunch of regular zombies and I keep dying to the clicker so I took a break. I'm still fairly early in the game, maybe like an hour or two in.
Started playing Jurassic World Evolution. So far it's pretty good but very frustrating at times. I got it on PS4 but maybe it'll be a bit better on PC.

I've been playing Fire Emblem Warriors on my 3DS. Love the hack in slash style gameplay. Love wading into a crowd of those joy boys and creating havoc knocking everyone into the air. I am presently half way through the game. Started playing during the 4th of July Holidays.

I've been somewhat absent from gaming lately. I've played a few rounds of FortNite.
FINALLY made decent progress in Raiden V for the PS4. I beat the game... and now have 33-43% of all trophies (don't remember the number). I'm going to create an updated topic on this game. It's a lot of fun - if you like the top scroller style shooter (Shmups). I also beat the game with all S routes.

It is basically built around the over-the-top-powerful Dynasty Warriors-style moves in its battle system. It is still RPG underneath with the strategy. I would have to go back a way to recall any Fire Emblem game I've played, might have been GBA. My memory is foggy. I go for the hack in slash of Dynasty Warriors gameplay so I am thrilled with it. Diehard Fire Emblem purist might be put off.
I made more progress in Raiden V. I rage quit last night though... hard. I was last stage... and was going to get the achievement for using the same main gun the entire run. NOPE.... I ran into a lot of fire... took the hits to miss the main weapon power up... but it happened to slide down my way as my craft spun... and I got the power up JUST AS IT TURNED RED FROM PURPLE. So many rages, precious.
@retro junkie I think that sounds pretty interesting... wish I had a bit more time to try some of these games.

I've been kind of ADD with games lately. Playing a little bit of No Man's Sky since they just released a big update. Also picked up a copy of Octopath Traveler and been playing that off and on. Been also trying to find a 3DS game to play on my new 3DS and settled with Fire Emblem Birthright for a little bit.
I finished the main story of Tales of Zestiria. Now I'm playing the Alisha's Story DLC, which is set just after the ending of Zestiria.
I haven't had time to play anything substantially lately, but I did start playing Sonic Mania finally and the nostalgia is killing me. I really like how they managed to make it feel like a true continuation of the 16 bit games without making it a carbon copy.
I started Zelda Breath of the Wild over again. I wasn't far in it but I quit playing a while ago and couldn't remember much of what I did. I knocked out three of the shrines on the great plateau earlier today.
Its such a great game I can't believe I never finished it.
Finished my first play through of Detroit: Become Human. Now doing a second one for like the opposite decisions I did the first time, then plan on cleaning up trophies I don't get from this one.
I've been playing Guacamelee 2 with a couple friends. The humor is amazing and the combat is top notch.
@Mai Valentine - The Last of Us is so good.
@SpartanEvolved and I used to play the online back on Ps3. It was pretty cool. We definitely need a Last Of Us topic at some point.
@Strubes I have that game... I just haven't played it yet. It looks to be a blast. I have the 1st game too... can't say I've broke 2 min on it. Gaming ADD hits hard....

@Strubes Progress. We made a bit of progress in Super Smash Bros for the Wii U.. Played the game through a few times and have several of the completion trophies. Playing it through with duck hunt... was a bit challenging lol. We definitely need a Super smash Bros Wii u topic.
Spent some time today with Nemesis on my Gameboy Pocket.
I have picked up Diablo 3 for the PS3, but seemingly I have not had time to play it. I have had it now for over a month. Purchased it because of the conversations in a thread around here.
OO..... Diablo 3 on the PS3 is pretty good. Outside the PC version, I'll get the Switch version.
I'd really like to get everyone playing. The last few times I've tried... I have stuff happen where I cannot play. This should all pan out in the next month.
I made more progress in Super Bomberman R on the switch. It's a really fun game.
Still paying lots of Overwatch. Got Mario Kart for the Switch recently. Seems kinda easy (even after turning off the "don't leave the road" mode). I haven't really played a Mario Kart game in a while but I wish there was a better 1-player mode....looking at you, Diddy Kong Racing.
I've been playing a ton of Dragon Questions XI and Rocket League now that the Rocket Pass is out! They're both keeping me busy till Spider-man tonight!

SO... I made progress in Spider-man by installing the game LOL. I also made some more progress in Defense Grid.
I'm entering the last mission in Spider-man. This game is MUCH longer than I was anticipating. The story has been fantastic. It let's you know when you're going to enter the last mission so you can upgrade beforehand which I think is really nice.
Also been putting a lot of time into the Rocket Pass on Rocket League.
@Polygon - I'm looking into Sonic Mania... I've been jonesing for the games since you mentioned it. Still playing it?
@Strubes Did they add anything new to Rocket League? I've had this game since the Steam controller came out. I can count on 1 hand how many times I've played it. The game is a lot of fun though... looks like we need a Rocket League topic.

That's interesting - Demaking a game is a thing lol. At last that's what they call it. It looks good on your handheld NES - 8 bit boy. Nice screen.
Someone for some insane reason took the Final Fantasy 7 PS1 game and made it into an RPG originally for the Famicom. This one that I am playing has the English patch. I think it was hacked from Final Fantasy games originally made for the NES. The neat part about it is that it contains the whole story of the Final Fantasy game. Graphics resemble the FF7 game also, as much as they can in an 8-bit sort of way. So far I have gotten past the point where we set the bomb in the reactor. The attacks are brutal. I have started to run from the ones that the game will let me.

Found all the towers and maxed out stamina in Zelda Breath of the Wild. I have three divine beasts left before going after gannon. I ditched the book a while back, it seems like it speeds things up too fast, a lot of my time is just spent climbing mountains or paragliding around. I'm really afraid if I stop playing this that I won't be able to get into anything else.

Other Progress I made:
1.) Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Black out... made it to level 13 or 14 and a tier that's like double that now. Having a hard time keeping my KD up right now. Frustrating lol. I'll hit many rounds of 1-3 kills ... then go 9 rounds of getting smacked around.
2.) We made it further in Lego The Movie Video Game
I let my roommate borrow my PS4 and tv for Fallout 76 so I'm mostly just on my laptop now, which means FFXIV is what I've been playing most recently. We're in between patches right now and everyone's busy with the holidays so it's in a bit of a lull but I've been using the time to do stuff I wouldn't normally do, like level my crafting classes. The next patch will introduce Blue Mage and start the story leading up to the next expansion, so I'm looking forward to that.
I ran across a game I had not heard of nor knew anything about. I picked it up real cheap, Batman: Brave and Bold for the DS. I have had a ball going through this game. I have went completely through it and now I am working on the special challenge stages that you open up. I would say that the game is not that difficult with just enough puzzle element figuring out how to get through the stages and defeat the bosses. Batman can upgrade his arsenal with the coins you collect through the stages. (Yeah I know, he is supposed to own this stuff already.) You team up with a Brave and Bold hero with abilities you will need to get through each particular stage. You switch up using the touch screen, tag team wrestling style. There is also a special move using both. Did I just review this game? ::)
I just finished another playthrough on Resident Evil 4. I haven't done a Professional run on Steam so I went ahead and did that this week. Might start RE5 next.
@Mai Valentine - Would your roommate be interested in joining our forums? We'd love to have them join ;D I bought Fall Out 76 for the PlayStation 4 on a Cyber Monday deal. FFXIV sounds like it would be fun... I wish I had the time to do a game like that. Between my game ADD and games like COD BLOPS4, Titanfall 2, and Diablo 3... there's just not a lot to go around.

I played a bunch of Titanfall 2 on PlayStation 4 (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=445.0). There was actually 4000 people online over the weekend. I love getting into games fast. I went from level 20 or 21 to over 30.

Professional is the hardest difficulty in the game. I recommend this game even in lower difficulty settings. It's the greatest game of all time!

If you like adventurish, final fightish, and old school pattern bosses, with a sort-of storyline, you might get a thrill out of the game. Once you beat the game you have all the special stages that you opened up to finish. This is a one or two nighter, depends how you pace yourself in the game. The game gave me a satisfying Batman mini game feel. The animation is very good. It might be better than the cartoon, never watched Brave and Bold series.
If you are itching for a quick DS game I would recommend it. I think there is not enough here to motivate most gamers to come back to, once you have unlocked everything, unless you are a Batman fan. Definitely fan based. It will be one of those games that I will return to, just to use the Batman character to beat up some bad guys. It is a pretty cheap pickup on eBay.
Young 8, 9, or 10 year old would play it to death.

@retro junkie Those can be fun at times. I really liked Star Wars Episode 3 on the Nintendo DS - I think that was the official title. Man... that was a lot of fun for a long time. IT's been awhile though since I played it... I don't know if it held up. There should be a post on that game in the future.

I have been playing a little of Diablo 3 on my PS3 this morning. I have had the game for months but just haven't sit down and tried it out. I had it on easy just to get the feel of the game. I am thinking that I have played the game before, but it was not 3, been a long time ago.
Also played Time & Eternity which is a manga style anime feel JRPG game. I got into it passed the intro and title screen, into the gameplay. I find it interesting. I have not played anything like this. I do like the battle system which you can stand at a distance or move up close, and dodge your enemy's attacks. You are limited as to where you can move during the battle. Up close hand to hand, at a distance you can use your rifle, you also have your helper. It is sort-of a romance story line, but I either missed it or it has not explained why I am fighting monsters in my journey. I do know why I am on my journey.
Probably a bad time to start this at Christmas. I could easily become distracted.
Started going through Spider-Man for PS4. This game is really fun and feels so good when swinging around the city. I hope there's a sequel.
Spider-Man is good! I sat down for a solid 2 - 3 hours today and went through a decent portion of the game earlier today. If it wasn't for eyestrain I don't think I would have stopped playing.
Just finished Skylanders Giant in story mode on my Wii U. Not complete as I have not found everything to be found. I started it this past weekend and was determined to finish before the years end.
I'm not Titanfalls biggest fan BUT it is fun, and worth the price of admission. Had I bought the game at launch for full price I would have been pissed.
Other than Titanfall I've been playing a lot of SPider-Man. Turning the combat difficulty up is really satisfying but that close quartered stuff with the crappy camera angles gets irritating.
Spiderman is a pretty good game. I ran into the camera angle thing as well.
I paid for Titanfall 2 on PC... bought it at launch. Other than the PC crowd dying off, I thought it was worth it. I don't find many games with retail. However, once the PC crowd died off due to bad release timing, I Was annoyed... a lot. I loved the game and really wanted to play it more but couldn't get into online games.
That's why I love the PS4 version so much, we get into games fast. The price at $6-15 is well worth it and there's a ton of great gameplay to be had. You have to enjoy the Titanfall style though.
Spider-Man is the first game I've really gotten into since Breath of the Wild. Speaking of, I should probably finish Breath of the Wild at some point..

I made more progress on Rainbow Moon on The PlayStation Vita. It took awhile to start making progress again in this game. It's like you'll get periods of a lot of progress... then you won't for awhile and have to grind. The other thing is.. it literally takes better items to advance... I mean Advance at all. So... I made progress and now am stuck at another spot... probably for a year.
Made several level ups in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Out mode. This is seriously my favorite Battle Royale game to date.

But some of that stuff has strayed a bit. Trying to figure out where from here right now... this place is here to stay and I've done what I've done to make sure what happened to the old won't be required with the new.

i finally subscribed to Nintendo's online service and immediately played Zelda all the way through 5. I couldn't remember 6 and 7's location on the first quest right off the top of my head so I quit.

I beat the first Koopa Kid in Mario Deluxe and tried out Smash Bros... Not sure I'm going to like Smash but to be fair I wasn't in a fighting game kind of mood.
I have been really wanting to play Symphony of the Night or Rondo of Blood, may have to necro a playstation for symphony. I doubt I'll come off the hip for Rondo.
Started up Zelda 2 with the Nintendo online on the switch. Suspend points make this game infinitely less frustrating. I remember never having enough patience to beat it without the game genie. When you run out of lives you start back at the sleeping princess, often no where near where you were. Also, your experience got subtracted when an enemy hits you and completely reset when you had to continue. Now with the suspend feature when it gets to the last life I can save and retry from that point. it's really helpful to retry tough encounters until I reach that next experience milestone or finish off that palace boss before having to start all over and / or losing your experience progress.
I've had 0 progress in anything but quick games ... such as Adventure Capitalist on the iPAd LOL... I am hoping to take my test this Thursday and game for a few days as break.

So... I had to play a little Tetris 99 today. MAde it to 3rd place once. By the time you get to 10-20 left... the pieces are moving VERY fast. It's a lot like the Tetris DS I played back on the DS. I loved this game. Well ... let the addition begin again.

For some strange reason I just rediscovered my Sega Genesis collection again. Been spending a lot of time playing through those games. Trying right now to form a list of games that I have so I don't up and purchase something I already have. 8)

I just run through CODMW Remastered on PS4 and am trying to convince myself to play though it at a slower pace to pick up the rest of the intel pieces. I'm also looking at Red Dead 2 since it just dropped to $39 at gamestop and bestbuy, Star Tropics (free on Nintendo Online) or some Zelda I've not beat yet.

I have made little to no progress on any games. I made more progress in guitar (not guitar hero) this week. Gear Fest at sweetwater 2019... has me back on the guitar. I did play some Tetris 99... such an addicting game.
I've also been thinking of directions for this site and the other tech site. I'm sitting for the 1st part of my Linux test Thursday... I keep mentioning it, but I do plan to post some lessons / notes here at some point as requested.

I haven't picked up either game in the series. I actually forget I have a Switch or PS4 most of the time since they're hooked to the living room TV and I'm always in the third bedroom with my PC.
So this is a build your own Mario level game? Share it with others?
@trkorecky Yes this is a build and share Mario level game! There are also other modes you can play in course world! Although that requires a online membership. Those modes are Endless challenge, and Online multiplayer! In course world you can also check other people's levels, and view the leaderboards! When you play a level of you push start or plus you then push settings to change your character or other settings!
In Mario Maker 2 there is a story mode that DOES NOT require online! Story mode has levels that put creator parts from the course editor into good use!
If you get stuck or if you don't know how to use something then Yamamura's Dojo can help you. This section is found in settings, and it has tutorials on everything that could help you. It even shows you Mario's moves in all game styles!

Alright... I made some progress in Sniper Elite 4 on PS4... and I got another 2nd place in Tetris 99 on the switch. ... always the bridesmaid, never the bride lol. ;D
Yesterday afternoon I was in my local GameXchange and had to purchase this game. Never had the NES version until now. I have played it on my multicarts but I really wanted the original. Best price I have found for this game, $12.99.
And this is dominating my game time this weekend.

Let's see.. I recently beat Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night...
The game is good.. really good.. A spiritual successor to Symphony of the Night is pretty accurate, although it has a strong dose of Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia Castlevania games as well.
I purchased and played through the first bit of Nier: Automata. So far, I like it! It is a great combo of shoot 'em up, platformer, and hack 'n slash gaming.
Last weekend I did get in a good dose of Overwatch with MasterMario and SpartanEvolved too!

The original is so good! Exploring with no maps is so confusing at first. Accomplishing beating the game, beating the game with all 255 missiles, then beating the game in speed run are great accomplishments.
I got to the point where I would pick up the GBA version when I had an hour to kill. One hour, one life was my standard for playing and beating it back in my early college days.
not without a game genie was I ever able to beat the first Metroid, well actually any Metroid. I never gave it its due because it tough as nails without practice and patience... an hour is truly commendable.
Interestingly I have gotten into Final Fantasy 3 for the DS over the Holiday weekend. I grabbed this up last week from my local GameXchange for around $8. Not sure which one this is in the series. I am thinking that it might be a remake of sorts. I have just got to the point where I can pick my jobs for my characters. Love the gameplay!
3 and 7 are my all time favorites in the series. I go back and forth on which is tops, but it's always a close call.
I am not sure that they are numbered the same for every system. I find that confusing.
it is. The American ones released with different numbers than the Japaneese ones, then American ones would release on different systems with the japaneese number scheme. This went on for a little while.
Final Fantasy 3 as I was talking about is Final fantasy 4 in Japan. it was the 4th game in the series released in japan and the third released in north America.
Final fantasy 7 is the 7th final fantasy game in both north American and japan (they got their act strait somewhere after 3 but before 7)
I did beat Nier: Automata for ending W. Apparently, the game is made to be played through first as 2B, then a second time as 9S to fill out the story line. Things seem familiar in the second play through of the game, but more detailed...
Nier is a really surreal game!
I beat the 1st Metroid without a Game Genie... but holy crap was that tough. The Mother Brain battle...
In recent game happenings... I've been playing the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta. It's pretty fun.
Started Radiant Historia today on my DS. I like the heavy sided story element in this game. Seems to occupy a lot of the gaming experience. I find it refreshing surprisingly. Give more of a depth to the game. You have to make decisions that have real consequences with the twist of time travel to effect the storyline.
Hope I don't get to one of those points where I get stumped not knowing what to do next.
Made 2 new Super Mario Maker 2 Levels. Played a bit more of Animal Crossing New Leaf. Bigger house... and I have over half of the fish and insects. I probably now have 40% of the fossils in museum.
We should probably start a New Leaf progress thread.
Been totally distracted by "Zoo Keeper" this past 2 weeks on my DS. Nice little puzzle game. I have had it for years. I just dig it out and play it occasionally. This is one of those occasionallys. :))
I don't have a Switch so I haven't gotten into Mario Maker 2. Or any of the big games for that. :(
What I've been playing recently is Nier Automata on my laptop through Steam with a Xbox One controller. I just finished the amusement park level. That boss was the hardest so far, I died about four times before I finally beat it. But I'm really digging the game.
First game of the new year. I was playing "Metalstorm" on the NES and then did a long play of "Streets of Rage 2" on the Sega Genesis. Had to bail out on stage 8 because I ran out of continues.
I started up The Outer Worlds a few days ago and am now about 6 hours deep. It's what I've been looking for since Mass Effect.
It was getting compared to Fallout a lot so I originally skipped over it. For whatever reason I wasn't a huge fan of the Fallout series. I'm glad I gave this game a shot, I'm really enjoying it. After I finish I may go back and check out a Fallout game, just to see if I didn't give Fallout the opportunity it deserved.
I finished the my first play through of Outerworlds yesterday. I'm sad it's over with... Fantastic game for anyone looking for a 20 hour distraction
I actually made a tad bit of progress on my backlog.
Mario Pinball (GBA) and Metroid Pinball (DS)... I played both a bit more and made more progress. It has been a long time since I played those games. I also played A Link Between Worlds (3DS)... but didn't make a ton of progress there.

Most of my stuff has been packed away. I also started Lego Ninjago on the PS Vita. I'm about to start Lego Pirates of the Caribbean on the PlayStation 3.
@retro junkie mentioned Radiant Historia a while ago so i picked up the Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology for 3ds and
@Grindspine 's talk of Octopath reminded me I had it. Amazon won't deliver Octo until tuesday so to prime the RPG pump I unrwapped Radiant and went to work.
I'd planned on playing for an hour or two but I've already put over 7 hours in the game. Its almost good enough to be mentioned along side chronotrigger and Final Fantasy. Atlus makes some good games and this is by far one of them. Octopath may not get played until i finish Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology.

We made a bit of progress in Minecraft on our level. We are now connecting 2 bases with rails and cart. That's a major undertaking. I crafted a pretty cool Ax that gets us tons of stones like gemstones, coal...etc... but no ore like Iron and Gold. I wonder if

I started up Paper Mario Origami King Saturday night. It's about as good expected, it makes me want to dig out Super Mario RPG and the SNES.

Well... I may have to add this game to my collection. Also, Paper Mario Origami King is rather awesome. Color Splash was great.. though it didn't have the highest reviews. Origami... that's a great pick up.
I blew my game diet and prepurchased / picked up every February release game I was interested in plus got a ton of xbox 360 / ps3 games. It's really slowed my Radiata progress and on top of that i started up Ys 9. I've got to get through these RPGs because Bravely Default 2 will be here before I know it and I've continually put of getting Immortal Fenyx Rising..
Went through Tomb Raider remake and just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider, next up is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
After that, I'm starting a Resident Evil run so that when I'm done, RE 8 should be out.

They're pretty good. Can drag a bit if you're trying to get 100% on every level but it's a good romp and the first two are super cheap nowadays if you wait for a sale.
Phew it's been a minute since I was on here, sorry about that. Work has been kicking my butt, but I have been playing Minecraft with the fam off and on. Had some weird issue with our server so had to start over :-/

@AngelBob Yeah... work has been kicking my butt as well. So have additional certifications. I am working through a few more.
We made major progress in our Minecraft town that we have been building for years. We have a nether travel system and are working to do a rail system between a few of the time.

I grabbed one of these. Yeah I know there is that gray area there somewhere, but I didn't load it up, they are the ones that put over 33,000 games on it. Been doing some arcade gaming. The wireless controllers that came with it are very cheap. One lasted a day and a half, now dead. (but I knew this from reviews) Pulled out an old PS2 wireless and it connected, boom! Better controller anyway.

I see these on amazon advertising 40-50 thousand games included but never says what games... Is it worth it or is there 9400 mahjong clones, each difficulty counting as whole new game, shovel ware that'd make the wii jealous... I just can't see 50,000 games on a clone console... we're talking a fraction of a penny per game... my brain hurts...
@targetrasp if you can get a hold of this thing for the same price that I did, $65. (I have since seen it for $59 on Aliexpress.) I would say it is worth every penny. What causes the drop in value to me are the controllers. The little box, from a quality perspective, I have no idea concerning its durability. But I figure if it lasts 65 days, $1 a day, then, yeah, I can live with that. But I am thinking it will last longer.
This is loaded with emulators running "Retroarch OS." Games? I really don't know where to start. This thing has got Atari 2600, Amstrad CPC, Neo Geo, Mame, SNES, N64, PS1, etc, around 47 emulators of game consoles with original games. For a simple plug and play device, I am impressed. A rasberry Pi would take a little of your time putting together, but this is a cheap simple alternative. Being that it is loaded down with games, I personally would not add to what I have here. There is enough for me. The only repeats would be the same game in the arcade ported to the Genesis and SNES, just for example. But I get where you are coming from.
This thing, I think, is an old left over TV Box running android with Retroarch running from the SD card. Why do I find these things out too late? I have since watched a video on Youtube on how to convert one of those boxes into something like this, but then there is all that work involved, and the rom thing.
I will just settle for this thing. And I will set back and enjoy.
This is really an awesome little box, for what it is. Runs N64, PS1, and what few games for the Dreamcast, very good.
I just cant get around that many games! A lot of the platforms had less than 1000 games total. I guess it does add up, especially with arcade as well.. I'm super curious now.
Some of those early home computers like the Amiga, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Atari 800, has a ton of games. Close to 5000 each. The Genesis has 890, SNES 1232, NES all of them. Going back over the different systems I have discovered two SNES and Genesis, US releases, Japan releases. Include the different arcade games, 2000 for mame, all the handheld consoles, yes them too. They only had 3 games for the Dreamcast. Must be the only three that perhaps runs good? It adds up to a lot of games.

Spent another 5 hours in Mass Effect between last night and this morning. Still taking my sweet time with it. It may be a contender for a platinum trophy run.
Mass Effect 1 down, still have a few more trophies to get to platinum it, then on to Mass Effect 2. I must say, really digging the legendary edition. I'd imagine if anyone played through when these games came out, then played through again when the trilogy was released, the legendary edition may be too soon, otherwise it's the right amount of time between initial release and second play-through.
Took a notion to turn on the Wii-U today. Put in a Wii game, Pirates PlundARRR. A hidden gem in the Wii library. It is a strategy side scrolling hack n slash, beatem up. You can build you character up the way you want. Up to four players. I got my tail whipped.
@retro junkie I'd never heard of that game until it started showing up on youtubers hidden gems videos. Judging by name and case alone it just looks like another wii shovelware title. The critics weren't kind either, it shows 60 on metacritic. Despite all that I see it in hidden gems videos and every person that I've heard take the time to play it likes it. If I ever get a chance to pick it up I will, just maybe not for the 20 bucks it sells for on eBay.
I missed a dialogue option early in mass effect that'd require another play through for me to platinum so I moved on to ME2. I didn't get the "use x power 25 times ones" either, not sure if it has to be shephard that does it or one of the team (although if it was one of the team surely i would have gotten some of those trophies after a 35 hour playthrough). I may revisit 1 later. I'm not using a guide or walk through so I was bound to miss something, no real reason to start using a guide or turn back now. I'll have to settle for partially complete.

I pulled my GB SP out last week and decided to play Lunar Legends again. It has been so long that I don't remember any of this. I am almost 20 hours in and really enjoying it, like it was first time. They altered a lot of things from the PS1 version, but that is okay. Not sure why I remembered that, but I did remember some of the things playing it. I got to pull it out and start playing it on my PS3 after this GB SP gaming is over and done.
Nice! I haven't brought out the SP in a long time... a very long time. The battery is still good! I did check it somewhat recently - didn't play it though... other tasks had to be completed.

MW2 needs some love again. It's one of those you talk about playing for an hour or two and next thing you know the day is blown. This may be why I don't spin it up as often as I'd like. It'd be great to join up with some of the CDGers'
Some friends talked me into game pass for PC and we've been playing Gunfire Reborn. Great game with a few friends, not so great solo. Also playing Chained Echoes on game pass. It's a RPG with a decent story but really cool (although pretty simple to dominate) battle system. A few hours in they're still adding mechanics and it's getting a little more complex. I've got some high hopes for the game.
Retro consoles, series x, and switch have been gathering dust. Work gets really slow during the first quarter so maybe I'll find some extra play time.
