@retro junkie  Yeah... I'm willing to bet this goes down as a 50/50 love/hate movie lol.   It would be cool to have something that rivals the prior Avengers movies.  However, It's cool to see you down for the experience 

Like I said in the past, I just didn't like Avengers: Age of Ultron... however, once how I saw how it tied a few things together and a few of the nuances in the scenes... I really liked the movie.  I was too harsh of a critic - IMO.

I wonder how available these systems will be.  Also, interesting that it has the power of a Ps4 / Xbox One... These are 10 year old systems now.  I know Nintendo is not always on the leading edge of power, and the utilize what they have extremely well... creating some of the best games.  However, a little more power may not hurt.

Then again... they've thrived for a reason.

Avengers: Doomsday is looking to be a massive release.  Look at all the chairs... some X-men in there as well.  Not a spoiler... trailer is out.  I posted that Robert Downey Jr was back ... but as a different character in this post last summer:

Now... we are seeing more.  It's looking to be pretty awesome.

I am also going back through some of the older series.  It's pretty cool

I get the hate, when Marvel or DC takes too much liberty with some of the comic story lines I read as a kid, I took it as a put-off. Sometimes big changes work, other times they don't. People are always going to find issue when others take liberties with source material. I'm less resistant to it than some, I just ask for quality, which in general does seem to be fading.

Especially in this day and age... it really seems like everyone complains about everything.  I get it, there are opinions about... and strong opinions at that.

Outside the liberties taken... and coming from not 100% remembering every main or back story... It was very enjoyable to watch. Again, there were certain points that were rough and some over active at certain spots, but the series was very enjoyable to watch.  Maybe if I knew everything... and was a uber Trekkie or something... it might matter much more lol

@CreepinDeth Could you check again while we are in the current mode with the forum?  Please let me know if you have a better result with the alerts or not.

The next in the Marvel series was released earlier this year.  Captain America: Brave New World was the next installment of not only Captain America... but also Marvel.

This movie is well done - in my opinion.  It somewhat follows after Captain America and the Winter Soldier.   Ross is now played by Harrison Ford.. and appears to be trying to change the way he's been in the past.   It seems he's trying to make things right.

Obviously (from trailers) ... you know the Red Hulk is involved.  Anthony Mackie is now Captain America (as you know from Captain America and the Winter Solider).  There are other comments and tie-ins from some of the older movies like The Hulk from 2008.

This is a well done Movie - in my opinion.   Has anyone else checked it out?  What do you think?

Late to the party?  Sure.  We got a really good deal on the complete series of Picard Blu-Ray!

The series is really really good.  Ratings were not favorable for the 1st 2 seasons.  Honestly... I really liked them.  Outside a couple oddities, I don't see what the fuss was.  The 3rd season is so far really awesome as well.

I feel a little crazy... I know we are talking about your machine here in another post, but I thought I replied to this thread as well 

$60 is a pretty good steal.  I was not fond of MacBooks up until the last 3 months.  More to come from that on a separate topic.  They take a bit to get used to coming off Windows and Linux... but I could say the same about Linux coming off of Windows.  It's just something to get used to... and it's cool to have MacOS, Windows whatever and several Linux variants that I'm comfortable now using as a daily driver.   NO LIMITATIONS lol 

Since your OS expired... it might be time to look at Linux if you cannot get a newer OS with current security upgrades.  It sucks to get to that point... especially on the Apply Ecosphere where the devices can last longer (IMO).   I'm becoming a little more fond of Apply MacOS and the Ecosphere of iPhone and iPad ... especially combined.   

Linux has been my daily driver for a few years already. I do have a few Windows machines (my gaming PC and a couple of laptops) due to work but I haven't really needed to make those machines my daily driver. There is the odd thing here and there. For example, just today I had to format a USB stick to NTFS because I wanted to transfer some Xbox screenshots. It's nuts that Microsoft requires NTFS just to move some files around but it's required for the console to see it.

@CreepinDeth - yeah.. that's why I was asking if @retro junkie was using it as much as you LOL. 

I am working on making a MacOS topic... there are some really cool things about MacOS. Especially once you get to the integrations between your phone and iPad if you have one.  Obviously, there are additional limitations.  The sound is amazing on these new guys... more to come.

i am presently using my Macbook Pro mid 2012 to type this. It is running MX Linux based on DEBIAN. I use it daily. I also use my chromebook daily. I have a Mac Mini late 2012 running Sanoma 14.7.4 using Opencore-Patcher on an SSD with 16 gig ram. That is my desktop. I am seriously thinking about switching it over to Linux when the updates run its course on Sanoma. But that is still undecided.

Let us know how that goes... that is pretty interesting.

I need to setup a new linux daily driver as well... I have an old small form factor desktop that I'm going to create a Rocky Linux Image machine.  Then I'm going to use that to create a Rocky image to run as my daily driver.  I'll create a new topic on that as well.

I am working on a tech idea website... more information to come.  Technically I've had the name for a LONG time.  I've been trying to start this idea since before we did World9-3 podcasts... IE 2007.  Just can never seem to get a good entry point.  Life changes lately have me accelerating some of this.  We may also start the podcasts back up under the CDG name.  Totally off topic here, but some of these topics reminded me

The Ice Blue system was really cool... it wasn't that expensive.  It was one of those glory days type memory... where you could walk into a Target and there would be an awesome discount on awesome merchandise.  It was before the mass Ebaying and other things like that.

LOL ... yeah... crazy after this many years. They are available now, but price wise, they're not really coming down.   The PS5 Pro is pretty costly as well.  I've read a bit on it, but not sure it's worth the extra $200. 

Ah, I didn't know that Sackboy had struck out to spinoffs of the Little Big Planet franchise!

Yeah!!  It's a really fun game, especially if you are a fan of the Little Big Planet franchise!   Co-op mode included (I'm looking at you Astro Bot - you should've have multiplayer like Astro's Playroom).

This was on of my favorite levels.  Awesome music... and sync to music

@retro junkie - I have not played this one.  I've played several of the other Pokemon titles.  How does this one stack up?  Did you ever finish it?

no.. I needed to do an update to this as well.  After Episode 2... the series went downhill FAST.   The song they would sing... I'm ok never hearing it again. 

I'm hoping there are serious tie-ins with other Marvel shows / movies as this one is up there with the Eternals.

Game Boy Pocket... it has been some time.  I have an Ice Blue system... if I correctly remember the color.  I believe it came with one of the Pokemon...?  That system had a lot of play.

That's awesome it's working again.  Good deduction as well to the problem.   so... still thinking of Linux as your daily driver like @CreepinDeth ?   

I have been using a MacBook lately as a daily driver.  I should make a topic on this.  TLDR, some life events happened recently... so I'm working with this right now.  I can say, I am able to use Linux, Windows OR MacOS for my daily driver LOL.  Still not 100% on the iPad... if it had visual studio code capabilities (without haven't to do it remotely...), I think the iPad would have a potential to take over some tasks.   I was using the iPad integrated with AWS Cloud9... but they have since decided to kill the service.  I still have access, but it will eventually go away. Therefore, I'm looking for something else.

I was talking with @targetrasp a couple weekends ago... and was reminiscing on a few mind blowing games.   Essentially... it's been a very long since a game REALLY immersed or blew my mind.   I think the last game was the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.  That experience was pretty crazy.

While it's not super mind-blowing in the same way, this level is absolutely awesome.  The level "Beat the Heat" is from Sackboy for the PlayStation 5 (PS5).  Sackboy is a platformer style game. The Song played is Jungle Boogie by Kool and the Gang.  The song is looped in a very awesome way to match up to actions in the level.  The effects are matched to the groove of the song.  For example, fireballs in different parts of the level are shot to the beat of the music.  I was in awe of the stage... it's one of the coolest I've seen in a long time.  And the song... it's just an epic song.
