@Grindspine @mastermario @SpartanEvolved

We definitely need to do that again soon.

@Grindspine  well... I missed it in a way... but still had a margarita :D

LOL nice... what else are you working on?

LOL @retro junkie   lol.....

yeah... see.. that's the problem I have.  Apple made serious cash money while they had plants where they installed nets to catch employees because people were throwing themselves from the roof top due to horrible conditions.  That's just not right.

They "corrected" some of those things... but corrected is in quotes for a reason.   And their corrections really didn't add a lot of cost...

Greed.  I'm all for people making as much money as they can... but when you treat people as slaves in horrible conditions, that's not ok.

Many wealthy people aren't stupid.  They've been known to be frugal in many cases amongst other things.   This really is a stupid money decision.    At the very least, I'd opt for the VESA mount and save the money.  Yes, they could afford it.. but why?   I'd rather get an LG, ASUS, or other competitor model for well under the cost of the monitor (not to mention monitor and stand combo).

Retro Gaming and Hardware / Re: N64 Clone Console?
« on: June 09, 2019, 10:19:30 AM »
@retro junkie So these are all emulation based?   The N64 console deserves something.  @Jack mentioned it was time for a N64 classic... but most of the classic consoles are emulation based.

I doubt an "official" classic console would be anything other than emulation.      Do you see any other companies on the horizon to take a hardware based approach?

LOL... ANNNDDDD... There is nothing else built into the stand.  It's just a high quality piece for your desk!

I want one made of Vibranium…  please...  That would be cool..  Then again, I don't think I would waste Vibranium on a monitor stand unless it gave some additional awesome properties somehow.

Ooooo sonic mania hit PS plus for red? @targetrasp ... thank you for the info... I totally missed that.

This is not super new news... but I Thought it was ridiculous.   The monitor itself has pretty nice specs...…. for $4999.  THEN the monitor STANDA costs $999... the Vesa mount alone is $199. Crazy.   I mean... that's gross even for Apple.

My favorite comment:
"Apple Charging $1000 for the stand for the new computer monitor!!  For the Stand.  At that price, the thing better be made of Vibranium straight from Wakanda courtesy of Stark Enterpirses."   LOL  :))

Thoughts?  Comments?  Post it up!

The current generation of systems really didn't drop in price.  I mean, they've been around since2014 now... and while some decent game prices can be found on PS4 games, I haven't seen super low prices outside finding deals on certain titles like 1-2 year old Lego Games.  No dig on the Lego games, I like them.

The PS4 (IMO) has a good amount of life left.  I know the Xbone came out before the PS4 and already showed a bit of under performance right at the beginning.  Either way, I'm not sure we are all ready for the PS5 or any other Video Game progressions to the next generation.   … well... with Exception of the PS Vita.  We NEEEEEED a new PS Vita.  I love my Vita.

News / Leaks / Rumors / Re: Google Stadia - Changing How We Game?
« on: June 06, 2019, 10:51:30 PM »
I think that needs to appeal to all gamers.  What's the point of a single player game if you cannot play when there's no internet connection?  This was a big downfall to the too strict DRM strategy.  Steam had an issue with it or awhile if I remember right.   We are talking a long time ago... but There was some issue with playing offline.

The concept seems cool... who knows... maybe we are ready for it.   Something like this might (IMO) take down the remaining Gamestores though.

General Discussion / Re: IPs that you'd like to see make a comeback
« on: June 06, 2019, 10:26:06 PM »
@targetrasp What about Megaman legends do you want to see come back?   Somehow, I don't doubt that it'll come back at some point.

I'd love to see the crusader series come back in some sort of reboot.  Not sure what kind of reboot... but a reboot of some sort.  Great game...

Woot... This looks like it might be kind of cool.  What are you looking forward to @Bomber Man ?

I know @Jack dug Pokémon games quite a bit.  Anyone else looking forward to this game?

Lack of time right now @Grindspine …  I need to login.  It's been 6-7 months.

LOL @mastermario you quoted him before I could punt him.

So you really don't like Windows that much?    I'm curious what the aversion to it is?   I like Windows a lot... but I've use tons of different Operating Systems.   I'm not a huge fan of OSX, but I understand why others like using them... there is an ease of use there that is not offered by other OSs.  But with that, there are other restrictions.

Honestly, with SSD... you won't see it.  Even on cheaper SSDs.  Understand, if you write many files to SSDs, your transfer rate can be slowed.
AS far as the number of times you can right... not that I'm aware of.  Every drive has a finite life span.

Just remember... you cannot defrag an SSD like an HD.  There's technology that does it on the fly these days.  Also, the lower priced drives don't operate as well as the higher performance drives.  It will still be a performance increase than more HDD's.

I'm not sure I'll be able to game or cook out lol. But I'll see if I can get something gaming going later... I cannot promise though.

@mastermario @SpartanEvolved  @Jack @targetrasp

Anyone else want to try to join up with @Grindspine as well?

This is interesting...  and I like it a lot.

.PS5 Players Can Play with PS4 Players Using Backwards Compatibility, Sony Confirms -

I'm glad at least some if the "backwards compatibility" is still here.

Thoughts? Comments?  Post it up!

Congratulations... that's pretty cool they were only $40.  They still run well?

As far as being more secure... I'm not sure I'm totally sold on that.   Macs are susceptible to virus as well... it's just not as common.  The IBM iSeries doesn't have virus made for it... but it can harbor virus in the IFS and other file systems.   Macs used to be based on the PowerPc Architecture... stopped in 2006 if I correctly remember.

Windows 7 holes will no longer be patched soon... allowing it to be owned by anyone and everyone.  I remember... even back in 2005, if you didn't patch XP quickly after a new build, you had viruses in minutes.

I'm not familiar with Articfox… what exactly is that browser?

So you like it?  What do you like about the OS?

yeah... I'll probably watch it as well @targetrasp   I still laugh at the image @retro junkie posted.  That is hilarious... never gets old.

I'm telling you though... Angry Birds was a great movie.   If you haven't watched it, you should.  It's pretty funny.

lol ... nice.    Well... I completely forgot about that AND I haven't seen the 1st 2 Thor movies, @Grindspine I have to be honest there.

I use to love Debian. Depending on GUI spoils. Those write ups could be a refresher course.  :nerd:
@retro junkie  I'm getting ready to start posting some basic refresh stuff.   I hope to have that by the end of the weekend... just going to start basic command line.

Crappy thing is.. I've been studying for these certs to get ahead at work... and be ready for technologies we are going to.  Now, the company is changing their direction  ??? :)) so... we may not be basing in Linux now and doing something else straight in the cloud for our ERP system SAP.  I'm still getting the certs for myself and my knowledge... and to have them.  But man... lol... come on now.

Marvel Theory has a pretty cool video... I know it was released last year, but check this out if you have not.

Thoughts?   BTW... there are no spoilers to End Game in this video.    Post it up!

@targetrasp lol... shhhhhhhhh.   The dream is real and alive.

@Grindspine that would be cool if they did it this year.  I didn't participate last year... and I cannot tell you the last time I logged into steam right now.  So... it's due

Another Post I missed...  We had a super full schedule ... so we didn't have a chance to do a lot.  However, we had a few margaritas!

Who celebrated this year?   What did you end up doing?

LOL!!!!  @retro junkie That's hilarious.

I'm not sure what I think about this yet.  Thank you for beating me on the post @targetrasp … I meant to post this and was side tracked.  I'm just not sure what to think about this yet...

1. Captain Marvel's timing. Seems like it's always perfect. I like her as a character but still.
2. Wtf was with Gwyneth Paltrow Iron Woman? Seemed almost completely random (almost because she has briefly worn a suit but it was for protection).

@mastermario @CreepinDeth

Spoiler: ShowHide
Man... Captain Marvel was such a great Movie... but she was EXTREMELY underwhelming in End Game.  Scarlet Witch on the other hand... she was absolutely rocking Thanos.  All that rage... she should've just done the job and got it over with.  All this monologuing... and wasting time.  Get it done yo... lol  ;D

Did you see this yet, @targetrasp ?

General Discussion / Re: Gaming Headsets... why must you suck?
« on: May 13, 2019, 10:06:34 PM »
lol @mastermario   :))   Honestly... I'm doing that as well... not even kidding.   I bought good tape and am putting mine together.  I need to fashion a piece to help keep the headset pushed into place just right.

@Grindspine I hate to say it, I probably won't buy any more Logitech gear for awhile.  You know that's odd for me as well.. as I used to buy all Logitech stuff and lots of it.  However, I'm not fond of their new designs.   Your Sennheiser suggestion... definitely looking into that.   Though the last set of Sennheiser.. while wireless... were extraordinarily thin.  I might just check out a few at Sweetwater to see if I Can demo something.

@retro junkie lol... Red Green... yup.  That's exactly it.  Check out Mastermario's pics  ;D

@Grindspine mentioned @mastermario was on a major "Seagulls" kick. lol.

Months later... this is still rather addicting to play here and there.
