General Discussion / Re: A New Windjammers in 2020?

Vodka Dew was great... and... I cannot wait for this game @targetrasp  lol.   BUT.... BUUUTTTTTT.... I have a big reservation that they will be able to have the same appeal as before.   It's just a different time and place.  Newer SNK Playmore games just don't have the same appeal for me.   I like some of the newer KOF games... but the newer Samurai Shodown… just didn't do it for me.  That was my favorite fighter growing up as well.

I hope New Windjammers is absolutely amazing... I Really do.

@targetrasp They really do have some decent older DS stuff here and there.  some rare stuff too... but they're pretty good about knowing the values of all their games.

@targetrasp I took a look recently at Gamestop for older system's games.... they don't seem to have PS2 games here.   There are some Wii and older DS games... but nothing older than PS3 on the Sony front.  Since my PS3 plays PS1 and PS2 games inherently... I Would be down to acquiring some of the older games.  I used to dig playing some of the older SOCOM games on my PS3.

lol @targetrasp … it does look like a Kylo Ren or Darth Maul controller.   I'm not sold on it though.  I saw it in person and thought I would like it more... but I didn't.

@Mai Valentine - I hear what you mean... I have 3 controllers... but I Could use a 4th.  I really bought more controllers for the PS3... there's something nice about a fresh new controller though  ;D  It's kind of like a new pair of socks.

General Discussion / Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
« on: January 05, 2020, 06:06:18 PM »
Alright... who has seen Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?   I thought it was by far the best of the last 3 trilogy... but also... probably one of the better Star Wars movies ever made... rivaling Rogue One.

Without providing spoilers at this time... I'm curious how this movie held up for everyone that has seen it.  Post up your thoughts and opinions of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

PC Rigs, Builds, and Peripheral Devices / Re: Mouse?
« on: January 05, 2020, 01:41:40 PM »
@Grindspine Resurrecting an old topic... Right now, I'm using a Corsair RGB mouse.  I forget the model number... it replaced my old Logitech G9x... which I used forever.

I'm pretty happy with Corsair an have used them the last 2-3 years.  I'm not at happy with Logitech these days.  Their designs are a bit odd/off.   I'm hoping they return to better designs.  I guess others like the designs though...

@CreepinDeth yeah... I really want to do a build.  It may not happen for a couple years though.  Things are a little tighter right now.  I hope by summer to clear a few things up.  However, I'm definitely looking to build in the next 2 years.

How is everything performing?

@Grindspine - did you get it yet? you should create a laptop topic!  Hopefully Discord works well on the laptop lol...maybe you'll end up using that instead of your other machine for Call of Duty.

Speaking of broken laptops... My work laptop has been resurrected 3 times.  Screen has been replaced, motherboard replaced... screen bezel is broke from 1 of the repairs...etc.  I am finally getting a new laptop... but yeah.. lol... we use them well.

hm... you know... I'm still thinking of getting Diablo 3 for the Switch @targetrasp … Money is out in other areas right now... but I think I'll get that.  Maybe we could play it a bit.

Super Mario Maker 2... we've really played a lot and created many levels now.

General Discussion / Re: The Incredible Hulk - Ed Norton 2008 Version
« on: January 03, 2020, 10:33:28 PM »
You might be able to skip them @Grindspine , however.... I wouldn't want to.  Iron Man 3 was a pretty good flick.  The Incredible Hulk was also really good.  There are a few things it ties up... albeit small... the General is in other films as well.

I can see where others say that as the Hulk doesn't exactly act like the future Hulk in certain ways.  But it also shows how he's starting to become like he is in the future.  Maybe I'm adding too much to it in my mind.   You should check it out... it's well done.  There's a credit scene that ties some stuff together as well.

It really is shame there wasn't another Hulk Movie.   Definitely check it out again @retro junkie

General Discussion / The Incredible Hulk - Ed Norton 2008 Version
« on: January 01, 2020, 04:40:04 PM »
This was the last of the Marvel MCU movies that I needed to see to have seen them all.   There was a good deal on the Blu-ray and I obtained The Incredible Hulk... and it did not disappoint.

I thought the movie was WELL done.  It sucks there are distribution / rights / license issues... I really think they could've done at least another 1-2 Incredible Hulk movies.   However, they were reduced to making Hulk appearances in other movies due to these issues.  Ed Norton was a great choice... and did a superb job.   He is totally different than Mark Ruffalo … who in my opinion is an equally good Hulk... just in a different way.

It's definitely not as viewed or talked about in the Marvel MCU... the movie didn't do particularly well in the theaters.  However, this has been typical of Hulk throughout the years.  Personally... I really liked the movie.  They left a potential sequel wide open as well.

Who here has seen it?   What are your thoughts on the Incredible Hulk?  Post it up!

General Discussion / Happy New Year Everyone!

Happy New Year to you and yours from  ;D

Nice update @Bomber Man

You know... it sucks the mini games are gone.   Those were massively fun.   I really hope they add them back in.  The interface of the bedrock edition is also weird.  The 1st moment you load it up... it takes forever to initially load ANYTHING... I'm talking skins, textures..etc.. as you're converting.  Once done and you're playing, the motion is a tad choppy when you see other character's moving (such as in 2 player split screen).

The unlimited worlds are pretty awesome though... as is cross play.  I like the new update... but I really hope they bring back the mini games.  They were tons of fun.

What do you think @AngelBob ?

What are you  playing and rocking out right now?   Have you done any local multiplayer gaming where several people brought their switches?  We were doing that at work for a short time.  DIablo 3... I wonder how well that works local multiplayer works.  I heard 4 players in close proximity can play locally with their switches.  That sounds like a blast.

I'm still playing Tetris 99... and Luigi's Mansion 3 just came out.  Luigi's looks pretty cool.

If you're playing your switch... what are you rocking out?   Post it up!

we did that for almost 8 years I believe... I Think we started in 2008??  Maybe It was 6 years.  @mastermario moved... but still came back for the Thanksgiving Lan.

I bought everyone Farcry 2 from Best Buy on a Black Friday deal.  I think it was 2008 lol... but it was before StarCraft 2 came out.   We used to LAN StarCraft and some of the other game modes.  They were a lot of fun.

We also started doing gaming cookouts in the Summer before everyone moved away.  My kids are older now... so it was a bit harder to get everything going with all the family stuff going on and changing dynamics too. While that's not a bad thing, it was just different trying to get things organized between all the events taking place.

ok!  Let me see what I can get together.  Hopefully some gaming can be done!

General Discussion / Re: Post Your Recent Gaming Purchases Thread

I purchased Gears of War 5 since it was on sale, but I haven't started it yet since I still actually have to finish Gears of War 4.  ???
@Mai Valentine  I really want to buy Gears 5 for the PC... I just haven't done it yet.   I really like that you only need a silver account to play online with a PC.  That's an awesome move and is very attractive for pc gamers that don't really want to buy an Xbone.

@CreepinDeth 1st world problems lol  ;D  I have the same issues at times.

I really haven't bought anything else gaming wise lately outside modern warfare.  I think we bought Luigi's Mansion 3... but that's about it.  My time has really be consumed with Super Mario Maker 2 and Modern Warfare.  Those 2 are enough and take so much of my time as it is... there is no time for anything else really.

Welcome @Figurra  Please feel free to post up in any topic new or old.  We hope to see you around!

Merry Christmas to you and yours from Chicken Dinner Gaming!  Please stop by, say hi, and post up!

If you received the gift of gaming... post up yet spoils!  ;D

lol nice @Grindspine Now she'll have to game too!

@CreepinDeth - heat is definitely a killer of hardware.   A Very efficient power supply will help with this... as well as only utilizing about 40-50% of the load.  You will see a lot less waste of energy to heat.   At least... I did when upgrading.  I've been able to air cool only and have been able to keep my feet under the desk lol  ;D

As @targetrasp mentioned, Noctua makes great coolers.  That's what I have on my CPU.  However, make SURE you watch dimensions... as some of the coolers are very large.

Speaking of this... I'm really hoping to build a new pc next year.  I bought a Dell G15 about 1-1.5 years ago to tide me over.   I highly recommend the laptop … it's one of the best deals out there for Gaming laptops.   It's a tad larger, but keeps cool under most circumstances.  High intensity gaming... just make sure you're playing on a table tap to not roast the nuggets  ;D  I've had the PC itch for a long time... but my 5 year old build still plays pretty much everything at max settings at 1080p.  I just haven't had a good excuse to build... that and I really didn't want to spend the money again.

sorry @CreepinDeth and @targetrasp … plans changed for the last weekend.  We ended up doing family stuff.

Are either of you free Christmas or the day after?  I will be busy again this coming weekend with family stuff.

Not sure of the time yet... but thinking early afternoon.  I definitely want to get call of Duty in... however, Diablo 3 would be fun.

Let me know if you are interested.

@targetrasp @Grindspine @CreepinDeth @Jack @SpartanEvolved @mastermario @XFaKToRX

That's still odd you have a big Discord issue... idk man... that sucks.  Have you found a fix for that yet?

lol @Mai Valentine Those are 1st world problems... however, they are problems.  At least you could rock the tv on the floor for a bit  ;D

As far as IKEA... I haven't bought much from them... but their SKYDD mineral  oil works AWESOME on Guitar fretboards AS WELL AS wood cutting boards and other types of natural wood that need to be oiled.

We used to always get together on Christmas eve with all the immediate family.  Way back in the yesteryears... we used to do this with all cousins and extended family.  But that ended probably sometime when I was around 6-8 years old.  So we just got together with the immediate family after that.  We always had a lot of people getting together though.   Many of our family members have passed on as well... However, the immediate family is still pretty much the same gathering we do every year.  So this year will be more of the same, but that's a good thing.

Man.. I'd love to get 2 weeks off... right now, it's so crazy, I barely get to take a few days off.  I accepted a new position lately, so I'm hoping to be able to get away better in the new position.  That's the goal coming up... to be able to take time off.

General Discussion / Re: The Mandalorian.........hmmmmm yeah right.
« on: November 30, 2019, 08:56:31 AM »
@retro junkie 1st question... so is Disney+ really worth it?   It seems like it would be initially... but would fizz out shortly after.

As far as the Mandalorian...  I keep seeing ads on this and does it look interesting.  The Disney+ Image of the Mandalorian draws you in... how can you not want to watch once you see the bounty hunter  ;D

Do you think they rushed it out and it will get better with age?   There are a lot of series like what you explained.  Amazon has a lot of them...  but people still seem to love to watch them.  I've been critical of others in the past as well.   I Couldn't get into them because they were cheesily done... where others seem to gloss of those bad effects, cinematography, etc.

I'm looking to get a few people together.  Who is up for later this am or early afternoon Call of Duty?   We could also play Diablo 3.... or something else.

@Jack @targetrasp @Grindspine @mastermario @SpartanEvolved

Post it up!

A couple days late... Happy Birthday @Kinikko !

Hopefully it's awesome!  and if you get any gaming gifts, please post them here!

@AngelBob have you tried anything from the new update yet?

I'm not sure the PlayStation 4 version has had an update with Bees... and the other features listed here.   I need to double check the change log... we just started a new survival level.
