Dangit @Grindspine I'm trying to not buy games again right now.  This looks really cool ... I see what you are saying about the graphically stunning textures.  Some of them have a Super Nintendo graphic "feel" to them as well.

@targetrasp you got pulled in eh?   I'm trying to hold off. I think I will add this to my collection though.

Good post, Grindspine.

Exactly... I totally get that.  Ikaruga is a game like that where if you are not in the groove... it's brutal.   When you're in the groove... it's an awesome game to play.

NICE!  I haven't played some of those in awhile.  GUN NAC... man... it has been some time.  How is that one treating you?

And somehow... I found this response not sent.  It was supposed to have been sent awhile back.

Happy New Year from Chickendinnergaming!

Here's to a great 2021!  2020 was an odd year and seemed to go extraordinarily fast.  However, here's to hoping 2021 plays out a little different (on the positive side) than 2020  ;D

@retro junkie ah yes. I read it / remembered it wrong.  You don't have an output for it yet.   Yes - you need to get on that  ;D

I used to take even odd bits of hardware (ie an old box That was used as an internet filter)... old school pieces that had basic hardware.  I would find a few pieces... put it back together, and would use It for something  just to see if I could get it to work.  I just haven't done that for a long time.

I used to really enjoy doing that.  Now I just don't have a lot of time to tinker with that anymore.  I do a lot of spinning up and down instances in the cloud... but not so much physical machines.

I was more thinking of CentOS for drivers and what-not that you were having issues with drivers.   Ie Give it a shot and see if you are able to get by the HMDI issues.

@targetrasp I have probably watched X-files all the way through 3 times.   the 1st time, I Was studying and doing a lot of stuff through college while binging them in the background.   There are so many good episodes.

I need to watch the Mandalorian... and more Star Trek.  We haven't finished Star Trek (mentioned before).

@targetrasp how is Hasbro Game Night?

@retro junkie ooo... Ikari Warriors 2. How are you liking that?

I also picked up Doom Eternal for a quick buck.  I'm looking into Doom Slayers Collection.   I'm wondering if Doom 2 on there is multiplayer... but I Don't think so.  I looked up a few things... but it appears only Doom 2016 is multiplayer.  I wish Doom2 was Multiplayer lol.   @Jack - do you have this?

@targetrasp yeahhhh.... that was from the WAAYYY back log  ;D

Most of my stuff has been packed away.  I also started Lego Ninjago on the PS Vita.  I'm about to start Lego Pirates of the Caribbean on the PlayStation 3.

@retro junkie I played around with this a bit.  I used it while studying Ansible... and used it in conjunction with Visual Studio Code.  It works pretty well.  I'd rather use Linux itself for most applications like this, however, it works rather well.  Give it a shot if you haven't.  It's at least interesting to play around in the environment.

Merry Christmas @retro junkie  and Everyone.  You beat me to the post today  ;D

The last 2 months have been rather crazy.  My father was ill and recently passed.   There were many other events going on that required a lot of attention.  I'm sorry I haven't been around as much.

I have this time off as well... now making bacon lol.  It's frickin freezing outside... and new coffee has just been made.   BTW... if you get the gift of gaming, post it up!

Merry Christmas to you all!

Exactly!  I picked up Squadrons as well... and something else.    Now I forget.  Squadrons was $17

I actually made a tad bit of progress on my backlog.

Mario Pinball (GBA) and Metroid Pinball (DS)... I played both a bit more and made more progress.  It has been a long time since I played those games.  I also played A Link Between Worlds (3DS)... but didn't make a ton of progress there.

News / Leaks / Rumors / Judge Rules on Loot Boxes
« on: November 05, 2020, 07:10:27 PM »
I know there have been loot box controversies in the past... are they gambling?  Are they not?   I first started noticing it with Counter Strike:  Global Offensive.  Man... some people put a lot of money into the keys to open the cases. And Steam also took a hefty fee once you tried to sell those said items if you were lucky enough to get a valuable one.  At one point, I had found a $69-89 AK... Which is all worthless now I believe.  There were pending legal issues on this game ij certain countries if I remember right.

I noticed this article:

Holy crap that's a hefty fine. Other games ran into some of the same issues ... but I can see where the issues come in.  In a way it is gambling... Which the odds on some of those items are horrible.  Interesting FIFA has loot boxes.

General Discussion / Call of Duty: Cold War - Who has been playing Beta?
« on: October 21, 2020, 08:34:04 PM »
Who has been trying the Call of Duty: Cold War Beta?   I've had several chances... but I finding myself trying to squeeze as much out of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare before Cold War comes out and people stop playing Modern Warfare.

Modern Warfare still has a lot of life in it... I really wish the postponed Cold War for at least a few more months.

Now I just need it to be on Amazon Prime or something else... I'd like to give it a view.

Is anyone playing Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on the PlayStation 4?  I'm curious on your experience of the game and what you think of it.

Here is a decent summary:
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends -

I think I saw @trkorecky ... and at least one other person as well.  This title has definitely peaked my interest. Is it worth the money?

Nintendo - Switch, 3DS, and Wii-U / Re: Got a Switch Lite
« on: October 21, 2020, 07:18:01 PM »
@retro junkie yeah... I really wonder where they will go from here.    I do like the concept of the Switch Lite a lot... but I Wouldn't want to give up the regular Switch for it... if that makes sense...

I really had issues with the original GBA (without the back light).   It was cool... but really hard to see.

Not a single person has been playing this?    @targetrasp @retro junkie @Mai Valentine

I bet @MegaDrive20XX has been all over this title.

LOL...  It's definitely hard.  What do you think so far @retro junkie ?

LOL... I still think it would've been a great Karaoke song... but @SpartanEvolved didn't agree.   There's no way it's not still relevant.

btw... I still haven't watched the Sonic movie yet.

@targetrasp lol... IF YOU ARE DONE... you need to go back and watch all seasons of X-Files again... back-to-back.   It's about time to do that again.   I've done it a few times over all the years while studying and doing other things while the episodes have been on.

We started watching a few of the monk, Eureka, and Psych episodes again.  Of course... parks n recs.   Especially after crazy days but have studying to do and what not.  I'm trying to accomplish 5-6 more certifications.  I am 6 more IT certifications completed now (4 AWS - I acquired all Associate certification and cloud practitioner, and 2 Linux).   To come... 3 more AWS, Red Hat, Ansible, and another.  So.. we tend to repeat certain shows.

It really is time to catch up on Star Trek though... I keep saying that... but it's time.

@CreepinDeth -- I am not familiar with what that is... what's the show about?

@AngelBob @Kinikko --> it's been awhile since we heard from you.  What are you binge watching?

« on: October 11, 2020, 10:55:02 PM »
@CreepinDeth on the PS4 there is an option to backup.  You need to have the right sized Hard Drive to do it... but I've used it to move to newer / larger hard drives.  Is that what you are referring to? Also -   Maybe we should create a topic in PC ... that would be cool to describe what you do with Steam and take your games with you to new builds.  I can explain how I've done it in the past.

@targetrasp yeah... the new Call of Duty: Cold War ... still odd there's no steel book... etc.

In the topic Nintendo Direct - Super Mario Bros 35th - it didn't disappoint, we talked about many of the cool announcements in the Nintendo Direct.  Now that Super Mario Bros 35 has been launched.... who has been playing?  What are your thoughts.

I have so far at least achieved a 1st place once...  and many second place finishes.  It is definitely a challenge playing against all those other opponents and getting their enemies throw over into my level (and vice-versa).   IE if you get a star... and have a bunch of enemies thrown on your level... you can plow right through them all.  If you have many people attacking you... they will get all those enemies back (all those targeting you at the same time).  It's a lot of fun.

What are your experiences?

@CreepinDeth @targetrasp  -- that's really disappointing LOL  ;D

I figured that as well... I really wish it was included.  MAYBE a download surprise ... and Nintendo was expecting someone to look for it as well.   Ehhh.... ehhh?

Is anyone else excited for this title?  I Figured there has to be a few Pikmin fans here.
