Quote from: BLUEVOODU on March 28, 2020, 04:11:30 PMIt would be awesome to get a group together to play. I'd like to get back at it here with Diablo 3 soon.  I really enjoy d3. I still need to make it through the reaper of souls.

@mastermario @Grindspine @SpartanEvolved  - looking to get this as well?

Btw... I really hope they have an awesome box and special edition like all the Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 releases and expansions.  I'm preordering when available.

I guess this can finally be bumped haha. Anyone get it yet? Anyone playing? @Jack ?? @BLUEVOODU ???

The season was good but I was hoping for that "OMG did that just happen?!?!" moment at the end like they've been doing for most of the Star Wars shows and was a little disappointed it didn't really happen. Overall it was fine though.

Saw it, enjoyed it. Well done action scenes with some well-placed comedic relief. Story was good and I felt like it picked a good place to end in prep for the next part. Barely remember the others because I've pretty much seen them all once, but they filled in most gaps for me with short flashbacks.

Also, Hayley Atwell...great casting, great job, and smoking hot.

Two parts got to me a little bit with the realism. First - parachuting onto the training and kicking that other guy through the window or whatever. That was hilarious but so incredibly unlikely haha. Second - climbing out of that last train car. You're saying the chick who was stabbed was what, able to pull all three of them back up? They just skipped right over that fiasco and showed them out of it as the last car fell. Felt a little cheated there

Let's see, lately I've started several shows but haven't completely caught up:

  • Citadel
  • Silo
  • Rabbit Hole
  • Secret Invasion (as briefly discussed in the other topic.

But there's other shows out or coming out I need to work on:

  • New Jack Ryan Season
  • New Righteous Gemstones Season
  • New Justified Season (yesssssssssss!!!)

Of the new shows, I'd say Silo is the most intriguing so far. Based on a book or books apparently.

I watched most of the first two episodes but was mostly distracted because it didn't really draw me in. Guess I can give it another shot.

I saw it. It was good. But it was hard to watch in parts which is why I and many others will probably never watch it again.

Like, even torturing and killing off CGI animals is so painful because they gave all of them believable souls. Re-watchability should be strongly considered in movies like this because I know I'm not alone in my opinion and the movie probably could have done better without some of the more graphic details. But my understanding is that it was as bad or worse in the comics so at least they stuck to it I guess.

Let's see...lately (last 6 months or so) I've watched:

  • Wednesday
  • Jack Ryan
  • Jack Reacher
  • Tulsa King
  • Mayor of Kingstowm
  • Upload
  • Yellowstone/1883/1923
  • Andor/Obi-Wan
  • She-Hulk
  • Better Call Saul
  • Severence
  • Peripheral
  • Welcome to Wrexham

I guess after putting it in writing, maybe I watch too much TV.

Loser! (La-Hooo Sa-Her) / Back 4 Blood

I haven't played Back 4 Blood since the Beta but @Grindspine, @SpartanEvolved and I fired it up for a while today. Holy crap, even the easiest difficulty is challenging. We struggled just getting through Act 1 on the easiest difficulty. Haven't quite figured out the Card system yet so that may help, but it seems way harder than L4D so far. Want to get back into playing it some more!

That said, Spartan left and Grindspine and I fired up Act 2 on the same difficulty with another friend and a random. The random was horrible but regardless, we got wrecked about 3 maps into Act 2 and couldn't finish.

The series was good overally but soooooo sloowwwww. I think they lost a lot of people watching with how slow it moved. I didn't hate the plot but I didn't like the pacing. That said, I enjoy seeing something new outside of the standard Skywalker saga that shows that there is so much more in that universe going on than Jedi versus Sith. I'll take any live-action Star Wars, even if it's a little slow, over no Star Wars.

There were a lot of underlying things going on as well, particularly with Mon Mothma, that I didn't really pick up on until having watched some YouTube summaries of it.

I should watch all of the Star Wars cartoons but it's really hard for me to get into any cartoon other than comedies. I struggle with taking the canon seriously.

And here we are nearing the end of February already...Mario Day coming in a couple of weeks! They missed a big opportunity releasing the Mario movie in April instead of on Mario Day!

Lately been playing mostly Fifa 22 (GamePass), Elden Ring, and @Grindspine, @SpartanEvolved and I just finished playing some Back 4 Blood which was fun but hard.

Quote from: Grindspine on February 12, 2023, 02:34:09 PMThe antagonist was a little bit ridiculous in being overpowered. Just happening to find a genius MIT student who rivals Tony Stark and can build an Iron Man suit is total convenient plot armor, figuratively and literally.[/spoilers]

I hated that character in every way for the same reason. I suppose she'll be back but I would really prefer not. The new Disney "Mary Sue".

Quote from: BLUEVOODU on February 12, 2023, 06:01:34 PMMy favorite part is Zombie Strange lol...

Agreed haha.

The movie was fun and entertaining but I don't love making Wanda the villain so quickly. Everything is so disjointed in the MCU right now and the Wandavision show didn't really build at all to that, it was seeming to build up Agatha as a villain and the movie barely addressed Wandavision or Agatha at all.

I thought it was pretty good. I guess the plot hole that bothers me a little bit is that for all intents and purposes, Black Panther had already been dead for five years once after the snap. Who was in charge then? Did they already have one funeral after the snap? Why wasn't there another Black Panther already? It seems like that should have already been resolved once.

Fantastic movie; great effects, great story, great action, great music, great everything. Hans Zimmer is the man. Saw it in theaters for the fourth total time this week lol. Still had 10 people in the small theater.

Saw it in theaters. It was okay but got weird towards the end. Reminded me of that one Cloverfield movie with John Goodman where it was like a cool apocalyptic movie until they brought in the aliens.

I have started Clone Wars probably four times, even as a go-to-sleep white noise show, and the first season is so boring that I make it about 6 episodes and give up. I also don't love using cartoons as canon. Thoughts?

I agree that The Expanse was great. Just finished Better Call Saul and that was great too.
