An entire PS5 now costs less than 64GB of DDR5 memory, even after a discount — simple memory kit jumps to $600 due to DRAM shortage, and it's expected to get worse into 2026

Well, if you were planning on building a gaming PC anytime soon, make sure to plan for this. 64GB of RAM used to be around $150 or less. Now it's as much as PS5 Pro!!

AI is completely decimating supply and leaving us plebs with outrageous prices.

Fortunately (I guess  :-X ) gamers don't really need 64GB and can get by with 16GB, but wow, these prices are insane.

@CreepinDeth That is crazy. Holy crap... even my laptop memory is triple the price.  I bought the Strix Scar Asus ROG and put in 64GB of memory.   That was $220 in September 2025.   Now it's showing as $599.

That's just insane.  Remember when Crypto and Graphics card increases were a thing? lol

Here's the crypto crash topic:

Thankfully, I am not in the market for building a computer.  Also thankfully... I have my new laptop...

Remember? I'm trying to forget, lol. These tech bro CEOs won't let me.

I was saving up for a graphics card and I think I might pull the trigger on a 9060XT 16GB card because the prices are about to jump there again, too. Sad state of affairs for the PC gaming community.
