no one?   No one is checking this out?   There are 2 episodes left... it's been pretty cool so far

@CreepinDeth - man... there are good replies here and I missed them entirely since 2021.  Sorry about that!

That last Linus Tech Tips video was great btw.  They always have awesome content.

Right now... I'm using the more stable Rocky Linux.  I'm not sure other people would classify it as a user's OS or not.  This OS is known for stability.  I believe it takes some tweaking, but upon review, it's good for gaming and content creation as well.

I've really been enjoying using it. It's more of an enterprise feel... but give it a shot. Why not?  Find out what you like and don't like. It's downstream from RHEL (Fedora based... etc).  You can use several different desktops with it - whether you want gnome, kde, mate... etc. A colleague at work ended up installing KDE... which is not my favorite, but I know many others like it.

There are a couple I want to try... but time has been soaked up by work and life... life stages are interesting for sure.  However, I also want to dive into Kali and some of its uses for testing.  I've wanted to do this over the last 5 years, but work and studying has taken most of time there.  I'm just going to pull the trigger at some point.   Of course, I'm looking at a potential masters next year... tldr, just trying to prep for the next 15-25 years.

Let me know if you get it and how you like it!

I have been waiting for this for a long time.  It's been a long 2 years ... so the new season 2 of the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is long overdue (imo)

We are pumped to watch this tonight. It looks like the 1st 3 episodes launched with the remainder being a weekly release.

Who else is pumped to watch the season 2 of The Rings of Power?! :happydance:

@CreepinDeth my favorite part was

Spoiler: ShowHide
When Wolverine and Deadpool fight in the mini van. It was an awesome fight and was hilarious

I also thought it was awesome when

Spoiler: ShowHide
Gambit was introduced... along with the others including Blade.  They did a great job with Gambit.  It was cool to see x-23 back.

So many awesome moments...

@retro junkie oh man... I still have my Wii. But the new tv doesn't have the proper connections and I haven't bother to try to figure it out.  However, if that died, I'd potentially lose TG16 games that I bought on the eshop waaayyy back in the day. I also bought Neo Geo games back on the eshop... Genesis / Megadrive... and more.

Those were pretty cool days IMO
#126
You know... it might be time to play this... I bought it and still have not cracked it open. It's about time!

Holy cow this one took at least few  years on and off.  However, we finally 100% Completed / Platinum Trophied Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 for the PS4.

This game is extensive.  We did not finish all the DLC trophies but have many of them... and plan to complete them at some point.

This was a major effort.  Woot woot!   :happydance:  :great:

Wow... this was one of the better movies I've seen in a long time! @CreepinDeth

Quote from: retro junkie on August 07, 2024, 01:57:31 PM@BLUEVOODU it was a note from Nintendo about how I can transfer all the Wii stuff to the Wii U. Must have been automated in some way. LOL
Hope I can do something to make it happen again.
Something really weird. I was able to go to the e-shop and download an app, skyward sword. It was the only thing on there. Something about saving your data.

LOL that's pretty crazy. Did the eshop still have the old eshop song?  And when you logged in, there was nothing else? Only the skyward sword?  Honestly, I'm a bit shocked that was still listed on there. I thought they shut it down ... down.
#130
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo (Darth Vader no)  :o sorry man... that's a bit of a bummer.

It probably an announcement from forever ago that they shut something off lol. The weather app was cool... you could see the weather around the globe.

Did you find what it was?

Man... I am pumped to see this movie. I probably have to wait until next weekend at this point.  It looks so good.

I didn't think we had movie times that early.  But I'll be... we have a 930a showing in IMAX.  What in the world...?
#132
Considering they used Trinity... I had higher hopes for the series.  The cookie Jedi was cool... and they really did kill off a significant number of Jedi in the series.

I didn't look at the negative comments, but my guess is that some of the negative comments revolve around the portrayal of the Jedi.

Spoiler: ShowHide
I couldn't figure out why Sol killed their mother.  Unless he thought she was attacking or something... just not what Jedi do. I mean, they did start messing with their padewan's mind... but didn't "hurt" him.

lol... had to do it... but you can pay with your palm.  Go ahead... use the force to pay for your goods  :great:

Birthday spoils. Birthday spoils!

#135
Oh man... that's awesome.  We are trying to find a time to see the movie.  And now I want to see it even more... thanks @CreepinDeth  ;D

Did you see the video I posted?  Everyone went crazy on the doomsday announcement!

We watched Deadpool 2 again to refresh.

@retro junkie gotcha!  Xfce is pretty cool.   I've used mate, kde, gnome and others.  Xfce was always pretty nice.

IMO - Apple does a pretty good job with the Mac. One can argue one way or another at the value based off specs compared to a Windows machine ... and there are valid arguments both ways. However, Mac is pretty decent. Simple to use and operate in many ways.

Is anyone look at this title or already have it?  The physical copy of Nes World Championship has some pretty good Swag included.

https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/nintendo-world-championships-nes-edition-deluxe-set-121051/

Has anyone played this?  What are your thoughts?   Do you think the swag appears to be collectible?  Maybe @targetrasp can jump in there as well.

Thoughts? Comments?  Post it up!
#138
@targetrasp - I missed it on sale again. It's back up to $40.  I'd love to get this game for $20.

I bet @retro junkie would jump on it as well.  Lol.  ;D
#139
Throwing a guess out there... I bet Marth ... I hope not... but Marth or Ike.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate really is one heck of a game and well done. It's definitely up there ... maybe at the top of the list of Smash Bros games.

General Discussion / Happy Birthday Grindspine!
July 26, 2024, 08:42:41 PM
Happy birthday @Grindspine a day early. However, I hope it's awesome.  :great:  Hopefully some birthday gaming or jamming is in the works.

As always, if you get the gift of gaming, post up your spoils!

That's pretty cool @retro junkie.  In a different post, I mentioned how I missed that glow sometimes.  It could mean there was an update, a message, or several other things.    It was always interesting as the light would start glowing at night. I would see the glow of the light on the ceiling.

This is pretty cool  :great:  dig the post.  I'm pretty curious on why it's glowing lol  ;D   Though I'm not telling you to check and to interrupt the light

@CreepinDeth - I think that's a pretty good assessment.   Gamers have a hand in this for sure.

I will also say... it's not just gaming... what you see here is now a world-wide phenomena.  What does that mean??

The entire world has been stuck since just before 2000.  Salaries have been stuck for many... only until recently were salaries going up a bit.  I would argue it's only in some industries.  Cars... yeah, there's been technological improvements... but they all look the same.   Music ... almost everything is on the table now.  I would argue this is a great thing for many older established musicians though.  For newer musicians, there appears to be a rubber stamp they need to hit.  There are tons and tons of examples.

A rubber stamp has been figured out for many industries.  They don't really deviate from the formula.  Capitalism, we can argue, is the issue.  I would argue it goes beyond that ... it's the way of the world now.

I don't see an easy way out as creativity is not really rewarded outside a select few examples.

The acolyte just finished up.  Not sure I was a big fan of this series. I thought it started off interesting, but just not sure that I dug how it ended up.  Trying to keep an open mind on this one.

What are your thoughts?  Any one else check this out?

Quote from: targetrasp on April 25, 2024, 10:33:08 PM29.99 on amazon right meow!

Oh man... it's back on sale $29.99 @targetrasp .  I was hoping it would've been $15 to $20 now.... but maybe this is as cheap as it gets.  There are times when these games just disappear of they don't sell out.  It seems they're stocking less and less these days.  Then again, I won't what the demand truly is for a title like this.

I might pull the trigger.
#146
We started watching The Acolyte last week on Disney+.  This is a new Star Wars series that is ... I believe 100 years before Star Wars The Phantom Menace.

So far, this series started off pretty cool.  It's interesting how they portray certain aspects in certain light... but I won't spoil it right now.

Is anyone else watching?  Thoughts, comments... post it up!

Bad Batch... such a great show.

When we were visiting family over the last couple months, we were watching NCIS Hawaii as well LOL... it was a decent series  :happydance:

Watching Acolyte now...

@Mai Valentine  Thank you for the heads up on Walmart.   I was just in our Best Buy... and they still have a game section.  It is reduced more after their last remodel.   Movies... Either I missed them or they are completely gone.

I do miss seeing the steel books... I am a sucker for steel books.   I know @Snatcher_L and @targetrasp are both suckers for steel books as well  ;D

General Discussion / Re: The Marvels

Quote from: Mai Valentine on May 29, 2024, 08:33:02 AMI really enjoyed the Marvels but the singing planet part was a bit cringe even for me. I also don't think it's as rewatchable as Captain Marvel was, even though I do enjoy the cast of the Marvels a lot.
Captain Marvel was a great movie... they did an awesome job AND the music was great!  I agree with you... I don't think the Marvels will be as rewatchable.  There are several hilarious parts though... and the cast is great.

Come on... you had to love the singing part LOL!  It was extremely hard to watch...  but I thought it was funny at the same time.  The cringe is real.

Woot woot!  Welcome back @Mai Valentine  and .... I know exactly what you mean.  Work and life been busy here lately with responsibilities and events.

It's good to have you back and posting!  ;D
