There are 3 cones in your retina that perceive color, one does red, one green, and one blue. Blue has the shortest wavelength in the color spectrum, red has the longest making green closer to red than blue. The most common color blindness / deficiency is Red / Green. I'd bet all three of these facts play into your seeing of green, I just can't explain how!

I just missed a Nomad on Ebay for a BIN of $85... the price was so low I questioned it, then by the time I talked myself into it someone had scooped it up.

Still on the lookout for one of these!

I really dig that series. I'll have to watch more when I have time.

<Yawns> I really have no opinion on the matter.

I was kidding, I knew what you meant.

Allowing graphic language and content is a slippery slope. Explicit language tends to undermine the intelligence of a conversation. Cussing like a factory worker makes one seem about as smart as a factory worker. Granted, factory workers' IQs could range from barely breathing to rocket scientist but there's an assumed level of intelligence inherent to that job.

While the use of profanity can, at times, more accurately convey feeling and meaning behind a communication it's overuse can diminish the authority behind that communication.

I spent my highschool and college years on a loading dock, in a locker room, and with a fraternity -- my environment was flooded with sex and profanity. Now that I have kids and am in a more professional setting at work, I find restraint difficult but necessary. Most times when I do succumb to old habits, I just sound foolish.

I still listen to explicit music, play GTA, and watch stuff like South Park so I find no offense in profanity or sexual situations. I'll be fine with however we decide to go. I do suggest temperance. While there seems to be a fair bit of diversity in our group; maturity and intelligence is a common thread. In growing our user base, I feel like that's what we'd want to attract.

Going through steam list one by one checking the store page seems like a lot of work with no payoff to me

works fine now.

Those are some crappy names..

They should have hired a bunch of stoners to sit around a circle and toss out names. The only things on the deny list that was remotely good were rip-offs, OM - Odyssey of the Mind (Magnavox Odyssey), MEGA - Neo Geo had mega written all over it!

I get the "thank you Mario but our princess is in another castle" message from the link..

delmonicos? Isn't that one of Emeril's restaurants?

Silmarillion, talk about a book that would be better as a movie..

I love the world and the ideas but keeping up with the language and the goofy names is too much without someone telling it to me and showing me (maybe I just lack imagination). There was something about the book that put me off. I can't put my finger on it but the word pompous comes to mind. To be fair though, I never finished it, I really never got close.

IDK, I think the guitar playing dog that only knows three cords is starting to get on my nerves...

Seriously though, things are pretty nice

the little computers I have in everyone's bedrooms are older HPs with the i5-2500 chip and I swear if I could fit a decent graphics card and power supply in the case these would still be relevant for more than just email, internet, youtube...

Nintendo hasn't really had a good track record with 3d.

I bought a launch one, It got rained on. I bought a 3ds for my daughter, it got barfed on. I bought a 2ds for my son, it went swimming in the toilet.

Finally everyone grew up and now the three of us have 3 3ds xl's. Had I waited just a little longer I could have got the NEW 3ds XLs that the amibos work on.

Originally they got tons of play. computer gaming, VR, etc. has taken the kid's focus away from them and now they're just something to do in the car or at the hotel. I still play mine at night some, and on trips. None of us have ever cared for the 3d aspect.

I bought a server case almost 20 years ago that I still build in. There's tons of bays 10 - 3.5" Plus 2 more for a floppy, 6 5.25" bays and some decent cable management. the difficulty comes from getting cables long enough to go from those two 5.25" bays at the top of the case.

When I bought it I cut part of the side out a put a window in because at the time cold cathode tubes and el wire was popular, now it's just there.

It's huge so i've often considered a newer case. My last two computers have been store bought so it's sat in my closet until just recently. It just barely fits under my computer table, and as I age I become more aware of a room's aesthetics so it may be time to trade in for a smaller model.

We've talked about it so much I cleaned out my parts collection and built something. I found a Radeon 6990, a stock amd cooler, an old gigabyte board, a hex core processor, and tons of storage. I was only able to find 2 gigs of ram though, so i've not been able to do a whole lot with it yet. I think i've got some old workstations at work that i can rob...

It scratched an itch for a minute, but i still wanna build something better...

No one else hoards crap on their wish list just in case?

I think it'd be easier if Steam had unlimited bandwidth. Big downloads take forever and I may have 5% of my library downloaded.

I with you though, the majority of my library is impulse purchases they I had no clue I wanted until I saw the price.

3rd's rough. I was never able to figure out if I wanted to stay up for 8 hours after work, or go immediately to bed or be up 8 hours before work.

most of the time I ended up splitting the difference and wasting the entire day.

That's one of the two games you've always talked about and I've just never gotten around to pick up...

PC gaming is a drug. There's something to hook any and everyone. All the troubles with controllers, mics, and multiplayer being buggy, or difficult to get working is long gone. I like it for everything but the AAA stuff. If you get that taste  you'll chase the dragon for the rest of your life.

I just got the snes mini with this game on it so I may end up skipping over it on the ps4 at least initially

Yeah it was taken as intended!

I guess you've got to ask yourself...  do you consider the song "My Humps" by the black eyed peas retro?

So might we consider (and hopefully this is a ton of work for BV)  current gen, previous gen, and retro destinctions?

LOL... that's a pretty amazing analogy.   Hats off to you sir.   AND in the same breath... I'm going to say... SUCK IT for the last comment lol.   Or did you mean "Isn't a ton of work for BV?"  If so, I take back the suck it comment.

These consoles are over a decade old. In technology years, that's a long time. I would consider them retro. Especially since they're the last to support the old 4:3 aspect ratio format.
See... That's exactly where I'm at.   And to Kinikko's point... Nintendo is ahead of the curve on this lol.   I'm leaning to the side they are retro as well.  We are talking 12-13 years ago the systems came out.  See... all points so far make sense and there's my conundrum.

I also struggle with the "we are posting in PlayStation for PS4 right now.  But when PS5 comes out... I will have to move all old PS4 posts to the retro board."  That may not seem like a big deal.. but it can be a pain and Search Engine links can be lost.  Now, I can do redirect topics when they move... but then you have a ton of redirect topics.

It makes more sense to have boards calling out the Specific systems... but for forums these days... that's too narrow topic wise.
