Every played any of the disk games, whether it be on the twin or just the disk system?

I've had chances to pick up these before but just didn't have a desire. Now theyve rose in price a little and the disks look difficult to find. Anyone have any experience with the Sharp famicom twin specifically or a famicom disk system at all?

Congratulations on it, I hope you enjoy

I'm excited they found a way to play this game without the motion controls. I played for 10 minutes on the wii and was done with it. Zelda is all about taking risks and changing the formula (often to wonderful and amazing things we didn't know we wanted) but the motion controls fell flat for me.  I'm sure others felt similarly so rereleasing this game was a great move by Nintendo.

But in true Nintendo fashion they've gone and done something incredibly boneheaded, completely saying screw you to their fanbase. Along side the Skyward Sword Switch release there's a $25.00 Zelda and Loftwing Amiibo. It essentially acts as a fast travel from where ever you are to the skyworld (or whatever you call it, i didn't actually see it in the game) where you can purchase items then fast travel right back to wherever you were. What a feature, essentially you can leave a dungeon when you run out of hearts and or items, restock and go right back. No back tracking or no getting killed and starting over. All for the price of $25.00 - unless Nintendo doesn't make enough and scalpers attack...

I luckily found a loftwing preorder today at GameStop - BestBuy and amazon say unavailable and target sold out yesterday... I may try to pick up another just to keep in the box, if I can find one.

The price of admission is high but who doesn't love overpaying for a Sega Genesis game in 2021?

There's been so many Limited Run Games that I've almost bought and lamented not purchasing after they sold out that I finally decided to pull the trigger on one. The little extras that come with the games look like the worthless eye candy that I never figure a use for but still somehow really want.

I at least hope the game is worth playing, although I'll likely keep it sealed unless the Polymega actually releases.

I've looked at picking this game up a dozen times then felt pervy and prayed for forgiveness!

Seriously though, if the puzzle aspect is as deep as you say I'll likely give it a playthrough.

@Grindspine "retro gamers snagged those for more than I thought they'd sell. " ---

I dont believe it... or didn't until i pulled up ebay. There's a listing for an all in wonder 9700 pro - boxed for 30 bucks less than I paid for mine when i bought it when it first came out... holy crap, used is over 100 bucks... thats nuts, we've all prolly thrown away thousands of dollars worth of old video cards...

I've not bought any of the others - i think there's 20 now

Here's a challenge, 100% without looking anything up... can you do it?

I'll play through a lego game and get 30%, maybe, play through again and get in the 50% range... You can finish a lego game pretty easily, it's finding all those secrets that i can't do without some sort of faq

I've been wanting to replay the mass effect games for a while now. I even bought the mass effect trilogy for the 360 near release (which seems a decade ago) and has been on my backlog ever since.

I preordered the legendary set and received it this past weekend. I spent a good 12 hours playing the first one. I typically don't have huge chunks of time to sink into an RPG but Bioware, especially KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect really get me. It's been about 14 years since the first one came out but this doesn't feel old to me.

The only changes I've noticed (outside of the graphics) in the first one is they've tweaked some of the mundane driving stuff (still a little mundane, but better) and made those long elevator rides skippable. supposedly the DLC is also there but I don't remember enough from 14 years ago to be able to speak to any difference.

Outside of warzone, This will likely be all i play until i complete it. Mass Effect is easily a top 10 all time for me.

nothing here. This may be an xbox generation for me. Between the backwards compatibility and the slight advantage of maybe being able to find one. I think Halo or what comes of bethesda could be the deciding factor (if availability doesn't decide it first). I'm eager to see if Halo has ran its course. There's more in-depth shooters and battle royal types that have taken over the shooter landscape but I'm hoping there's still room for some run and gun.

pacman is so frustrating to start with!

It'd be great to see other peoples frustration while playing this

I got mine. it's still wrapped. Looking forward to playing it though. I also may have highjacked the Raiden post talking about ordering this instead! as punishment I'll order raiden too!

I saw your post, went to amazon, ended up with r type final 2 Inaugural Flight Edition, thinking it was Raiden... Maybe some inner reflex took over. Perhaps my NIS fanboyism took control or maybe because rrtype and gradus were my snes shooter staples and stayed my favorite shooters until i bought a neo geo aes and alpha mission 2 ten years down the road. Since then I've been a little meh on shooters. I've got a lot stashed away, and i've bought some crappy ones on ps4 (cough psyvariar delta). I'm hoping once i get around to unwrapping rtype and / or ordering raiden, i'll have found something more engaging, more reminiscent of those early 90's masterpieces.

Holy cow, I was talking about doing this in 2018 saying it was terrible.. It's so much worse now!

I finally broke down and built after I squeezed every ounce of life I could out of my HP 8200 (proliant, reliant? I forget), and I kinda regret it. I had to settle for a parts bin graphics card, 200 series r9 (anything good is still held by scalpers or backordered). It'll run VR but anything from the last 5 years eat its lunch. Motherboards ran the gamut, but I was able to get away with a reasonable one for 140 because I wasn't needing the 400 dollar boards' features. A lot stuff share bandwidth on my board but (at least with this board) as long as i didn't use both m2 and  both pci e 16x slots I could still have a 4 drive raid array, installing os on m2 and get full 16 x on pcie without having any bandwidth bottle necks. There was only two ram slots but my old ram wasn't nearly as fast as the board could handle so i just bought two 16 gig sticks... almost 400 bucks after tax. I'd wanted to build something in a white fractal designs case every since I laid eyes on one, so i spent 80 on it. I consider myself lucky for getting out in the $1300 range considering splurging for the case, tons of drives, a ryzen 7, etc. When I factor in not having to buy a video card though it seems excessive. I would have kept my early gen i5 another 5 years if there was a small form factor graphics card worth a flip.

I'd love to get in the 2020's video card wise at some point if these prices ever ease up, but who knows. it'll take another 7 years for TSM and Intel to get their factories built here so I don't have tons of faith, and even then who knows what the market will look like.

My original intent was to keep up with a complete evercade collection - some how on wave one I missed carts 2 and 6. What I did play was fine, but nothing new, nothing really pushing me to keep collecting / playing.

Now this. I'm not sold, but I'm a solid maybe.

I wasn't a big cap fan when i was reading comics so a lot of this is new territory for me.. and I love it. Didn't Zemo have some part of the Civil War movie?

I'm hoping Marvel can get the FF involved somehow. Agatha was cool and I kinda like that they're pulling from the source material but not married to it, otherwise it'd be predictable / spoiled by every comic nerd running. I've got that line of West Coast Avengers Comics that the white vision first appeared in and there's a lot of similarities but it wasn't a cut a paste job. I also remember Agatha and Wanda's relationship a little differently.

Great stuff, I'm glad you guys talked this up enough so that I'd watch past the first two episodes.

I was trying to watch Agent Carter when it was on TV. Like so many other weekly tv series i eventually dropped off. Not really sure why, I just didn't make it. Now that its streamable I may try to watch it, It definitely wasn't bad.
