Bump!!!

I pulled my GB SP out last week and decided to play Lunar Legends again. It has been so long that I don't remember any of this. I am almost 20 hours in and really enjoying it, like it was first time. They altered a lot of things from the PS1 version, but that is okay. Not sure why I remembered that, but I did remember some of the things playing it. I got to pull it out and start playing it on my PS3 after this GB SP gaming is over and done.

YES!! I thought it was very good and well done. Loved every minute of it. I was taken by surprise, never heard of it before. It was taken from a book series. I hope they continue with this into another season or two. As of right now Disney has renewed it for a second season.

General Discussion / Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
November 26, 2022, 10:11:21 AM
It was early Thanksgiving Day morning. Sun was just peeking over the horizon. There was a chill in the air and dew was still on the grass, standing there I could see my breath. I slowly zip up my flight suit and put on my gloves. It is not the first time I've climbed into this cockpit. But the wait is over and no more mister nice guy. It has started, the mindless destruction. Hordes of aliens have entered our part of the galaxy. Aliens travel in hordes folks, believe me. They don't sneak around at night abducting innocent victims to probe. Wake up people! Aliens are not that nice. They enter quadrants of the galaxy destroying everything in their path. And it is "always" our part of the galaxy! WHY DON'T THEY LEAVE US ALONE? WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? You want to get probed and violated by an alien, fine! Go ahead. The only time I would rather be probed by aliens is as my preferred choice, brace yourself, it's better than being at Walmart on Black Friday morning in the middle of those insane crowds. But me, first and foremost, I would rather be on the trigger side of a laser cannon. There is no screaming from that position, they scream. I call the shots. I yell out the victory cry. Maybe the battle ship I fly is nothing more than a prototype, SO WHAT? I only know one thing. I am the only resistance standing between them and earth. So go ahead and enjoy your Thanksgiving Day Holiday. I got your back millions of miles away in the deep darkness of space blowing up all their spaceships, ripping through their armadas, frying their guts, and causing mayhem among their ranks. Plowing through millions. Have peace of mind, I'm doing my job.
Have a nice Thanksgiving Holiday!! Eat like no one is watching!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Helping around the kitchen today, chopping, preparing rolls, etc.
In between I have been playing Streets of Rage 2 on my Sega Genesis.
Looking forward to digging in. And we are very thankful.

I like the way they put this together. This is the way you do collections. The thing is packed with info that should satisfy any retro gamer that has a nostalgic streak for that era. I plan on picking this up at some point. I never had a thing for the Atari consoles. The only thing that I did like was the Lynx. That was something I was able to do  lot of gaming on, I still own two of three of those. I had the Jaguar and still play a few of my favorites for the console. Had it out a week ago playing. But really the only thing from something like the 2600 that would grab my interest would be Defender, Centipede, something like that, but hey, my NES has good enough ports of those games.

I really like the Mario one. But the price of admission takes my breath! Even though it is on sale, I will keep my money in my pocket.  :))

I have yet to really get into playing anything on the switch, except Animal Crossing. But I have not picked that up in a while. Lately I have started playing Cuphead.
So with that in mind.............
I haven't really felt the need to want the OLED Switch. And really I have the Switch Lite, which I do not consider a Switch. Mainly because it cannot switch, it is portable only. I don't know why but it has not overwhelmed me like the DS and 3DS did. I miss the camera option too.
Maybe, somewhere in time, if I get a notion, to want a Switch, that will be what I purchase.

As far as I know this is the only episode that they decided to make, which is sad, and lame. I would want more.

Not sure when this series took a nose dive for me, but..........I am putting my final thoughts on this in a "spoiler." This is just in case someone is not through watching, or hasn't watched yet.

Spoiler: ShowHide
I think the only redeeming quality of this series was the way they integrated the Marvel cameos into the She Hulk storyline. Gave it a comic book feel. I guess there was an expectation of, that there would be some underlining, plot, or subplot, to tie every episode together. It has been sort-of routine with a Disney+ series. They have all been sort-of like a mini series. Unless you consider the back-of-your-mind  thought, that, someone is trying to get a sample of her blood. But this has been an under-the-table, how be it, weak in its implementation. This season just gave us an introduction, of who this alcoholic "undesirable" girl that "is" the She Hulk. Not sure I wanted to know, little too much information for me. Not sure if the whole writing, directing, production, the way it comes across, of each episode works for me. I will probably never watch this again.

The finale,.....really? This whole thing felt like Deadpool.

I am not familiar with the character having never read the comics. But seriously, they could have done something better.

[Half way through the series I turned to my Daughter and said, "Let's watch every episode and give it a fair chance." And with the final episode, "One more and it will be over with."]

We loved "Leap Frog."

Has anyone seen this. Sad that they are only going to have one episode. If this is what it takes for them to be successful in putting together something worth while watching, then so be it.
This is a top notch quality production. Highly recommended viewing.
My Daughter and I really enjoyed this.

Anyone else see this? What is your take? Good? Bad? Not interested?

I wished my mid 2012 macbook supported drives like this. I will need to keep this in mind whenever I upgrade my stuff in the future.

I think they missed an opportunity not making the Xbox version online. Unless there is going to be some sort of update later. Really it would be ideal for an online game in this present gaming generation. Why go to the trouble of such an update and not include the multiplayer online?

General Discussion / Re: Thor: Love and Thunder

Okay I sat down and finally watched this movie yesterday. I think the storyline was good. The progression of the whole movie, I felt, was smooth. The only issue, I had, was that Thor was totally out of character, a buffoon, big idiot, throughout the whole movie. This made the movie awkward, ruined, trashed, and wasted. I really tried hard to like this movie. But the elephant in the room was embarrassing to the MCU. This could have been......you know.......a good movie to round out the Thor movies. Instead............ we have this stinker. Ragnarok still remains the best of the Thor movies with the first movie taking second place. I really don't want to see another movie like this one with the Thor character.

@targetrasp got it off of eBay from a seller named usa-seller-miami. The scanlines only works for the genesis games. I was disappointed in that. But I will take what I can get. It ran me $136.99 with free shipping. Still enjoying this setup.

I don't have Amazon so I guess I won't be seeing it anytime soon. From the previews that I saw the only thing that came to mind was "Game of Thrones" type thoughts. Lord of the Rings? I really didn't get the feel. Please tell me I am wrong.

Looking at the lineup of games and then looking at my Sega Genesis mini 1. The first mini lineup got me excited for the console, and it is a good group of games. This second attempt just doesn't compare, for me personally. There is just not enough there to justify me having it other than the collectability. I am first and foremost a gamer, and I am just not willing to go there. I have instead went for a modified Sega Genesis mini 1, which contains all of the Genesis games plus the 32X library. (and yes it has SNES, NES, Turbo Grafx 16, and early Atari console games) Game saves for everything with the same menu system and scan lines. The price was just under the price of the mini 2. And I now have it in my hands. The mini 1 is a good quality piece of hardware. And I am sure the second one will be too. There is the thought that not everyone who puts down a preorder will get a mini 2. That is floating around. I may regret my decision somewhere down the road, but I don't think so. Satisfied for now.

Okay, watched the first episode tonight. I really liked and enjoyed this first episode. I hope they can keep up the momentum and churn out something good with this.

Anyone else see this, thoughts?

BUMP!

Well my Daughter and I finally sat down together and watched this last night. We both agreed that this was a good movie. I personally think that they had intentions of making this movie before they released Wanda Vision. I look at Wanda Vision as a "prequel." But in no way does watching WandaVision prepare you for this movie. I would also classify this as being a great movie. This was straight Dr. Strange comicbook stuff.

It seems that Nintendo is the only aggressive gaming company that comes down hard on this kind of stuff. I have seen no backlash over the years for anything like this concerning games from other sources other than Nintendo. Usually it is free download so there is no profit to run in emulation. But if you purchase an item like this that has been placed on a cart from AliExpress of course they are making a profit. But that is the only way I would have something like this so that I can play it on original hardware.
Fight'n Rage is available from the Nintendo Switch store, $19.99, but they have changed the game's appearance so much that it is not recognizable enough to claim it is Streets of Rage 2. Gameplay is still a side scrolling beat'm up.

There are other Streets of Rage hacks out there featuring different characters such as Street Fighter, Final Fight, Batman, etc. I have one that features Kurenai as a playable character. Kurenai is from Sengoku 3 a Neo Geo game. I plan on picking up all of the variations just for the fun of being able to play these other characters. As long as I can find them on AliExpress I will gradually pick them up and add them to me collection.

Okay, I have hesitated in doing a pre-order. I don't understand why they have not given a full list of the games that will be available on the console, and yet they expect me to do a pre-order. Most of those games listed I have in cart form. So I would have to weigh in my mind would it be worth, or satisfying, to have it for those few games. I do remember having the Sonic CD at one time and it was fun, but................that is a lot of money to throw down for one game. The only time I ever purchased a console for one game was a PS2 for Final Fantasy X.

I do have the Sega Genesis mini, Famicom mini, SNES mini, TG 16 mini, Neo Geo arcade mini, And I enjoy every one of them. These things are such a niche market item. They need to fill this console up because it is just a one shot deal. And, I imagine, that is why they are doing pre-order only. It would be great if they could fill it with some top notch games. Because I feel like this will be the last one. I like the mini concept, but it needs to be loaded with more than fifty something games.

I do have my eye on something else, Genesis mini clone with 228 games from AliExpress. It has gotten some good reviews. And the price is right, around $40.

I got to preorder this today! I do not want to miss this. I love these things. It is the best way to get a taste of the golden age of gaming.

I do wish they had went with the 32x version of Virtua Racing, the better version on the console.

And our preorders will be shipped from Japan!  :o

I just saw "No Way Home" only last week. And my Daughter and I are trying to find time to watch "Multiverse of Madness" right now. Not sure when this will be watched. It will probably be streaming by the time we get around to it.  :))

I never gave it the time of day either. Where is it streaming?
