lol @Grindspine yeah.. that is nice. I dig it.

I know what you mean @targetrasp ... my parents still have a larger 4:3 tv.  It's a Toshiba Cinema series from the late 90's... and It plays all the old games well... not the newer formats very well though.

OK ... we've had several topics on Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch.   I picked it up and we have it installed and are playing it.  It's super fast and super slick.  Some of the controls with the 2 controllers separate from the console can be a little hard to get used to.  I want to try out the pro controller to see if it's a lot better.

The following is really cool:

Once you beat classic mode, you play a SHMUP to shoot all the credits.  You know from original games, you would "beat up" the credits ...etc... well now you play a SHMUP lol.

It's pretty fun!

You only start with 8 characters... so you will have to earn / buy all those characters!  There are a ton of them - 74-76 of them depending on how you count them.

Who picked theirs up?  We should get CDG members together to play this.  Post it up!

Other Super Smash Bros Ultimate Topics:
Smash Bros Ultimate - Secret
Super Smash Bros Ultimate

So... I bought into this now.

It appears you CAN play online with these games if they have 2 player mode.  You can play 1 player and 2 player locally. Then there's an option for Online... where you can join a friend, leave a game open with pass code or no pass code... or play while you wait for a friend to join.   Now... I haven't been able to figure out where you can see other network games or online games that are open.  So this MIGHT just be locked down to friends - might ... or probably is.

@CreepinDeth - I really need to play through it.  It's been long enough... I believe I have it in my steam list too  :o   Greatest game of all time??

@retro junkie Those can be fun at times.  I really liked Star Wars Episode 3 on the Nintendo DS - I think that was the official title.  Man... that was a lot of fun for a long time.  IT's been awhile though since I played it... I don't know if it held up.  There should be a post on that game in the future.

So... I made a little progress on iPad game - the Capitalist lol.  Besides that... I've been making progress on IT certification studies.  TRying to finish up 2 certs before EOY 2018.

Welcome to Chicken Dinner Gaming, @pontrumlee ... we are glad to have you.  What are your favorite games and consoles / platforms?
#1596
Yeah... I'm hoping this game is better than a neat distraction.  THOUGH... I haven't bought it yet.  I totally understand what you're saying.   Certain beers were all the rage at work, people talking about the newest beer from x company.  "Have you tried it?"  "No... not yet."  "OH... you need to though you can only get 1 bottle per month from this exclusive liquor store."  As far as coffee - Our local Old Crown is the real deal.   I should send you some Espresso 101 sometime.

I think the game looks cool from what I've seen.  IF I pick It up, I'll try to post up a review.

THAT would get on my nerves.  >:(

LOL @retro junkie you wouldn't like this!?  :)

That's interesting... I wonder how they created this without issues from Nintendo.  I thought you meant there was an official release.  I looked it up... their site mentions you can play it legally on any home-brew enabled Wii.

Hm... how do they do stuff like this?  Other people / sites would get absolutely ban-hammered... fan or not.
#1599
You know... I never really did check into this title.  I have a very vague memory of it.  What do you mean by a hack?
#1600
Well... this is pre-ordered. I'm taking the day off Friday to pick it up and play!  Woot....

I guess the ONE HALF DEAD in Infinity War goes with the Nintendo universe
lol... that's a good analogy.  LOL... I never thought of it that way.  ;D

Unfortunately, there's not gauntlet to bring them back in the Nintendo Universe.
#1602
meh... I might have to do that.  It sucks finding something like this and then not having it work out.  BUT... I probably will just cut my losses.  I Am calling the store tomorrow to follow up again though.

nope, I added them to the inventory and shelved them all.

still waiting on a backlogger, man if only there was a backlogger to help me keep up with all this ummm backlog...
LOL  right in the giblets - I am still working on the concept.   I'm going to need a bit of help... but as things are going, I'm not going to be able to hire yet.  I'm going to see if I Can get a few people to help with parts.  But... that doesn't always work with resilient web applications.  It can, but they need to be hardened... even more so these days.

#1604
lol.. stop laughing.   ;D ANND the story isn't over yet.  They're supposed to fix it... and it's not fixed yet.... grrrr  >:(

I liked Battlefield 4 a lot... and Battlefield 1 was a lot of fun, but the PC version died out fast.  Battlefield V... it's pretty cool.  I need more time with it though.

Titanfall 2 showed up the other day along with Farcry 5  and bomberman
OOo... Nintendo Switch Bomberman R?

Did you play Titanfall 2 yet?   And take back that Far Cry 5 comment... you know that's a dig lol.

@Mai Valentine - Would your roommate be interested in joining our forums?  We'd love to have them join  ;D  I bought Fall Out 76 for the PlayStation 4 on a Cyber Monday deal.  FFXIV sounds like it would be fun... I wish I had the time to do a game like that.  Between my game ADD and games like COD BLOPS4, Titanfall 2, and Diablo 3... there's just not a lot to go around.

Speaking of Fall Out 76 - check out the Fall Out 76 Crazy Limited Edition Guide

@CreepinDeth What is a professional run?  I really haven't played Resident Evil 4 more than tries.  I know... bad BV.

@retro junkie lol... I don't remember that game either. would you recommend it?

I played a bunch of Titanfall 2 on PlayStation 4.  There was actually 4000 people online over the weekend.  I love getting into games fast.  I went from level 20 or 21 to over 30.

LOL Thank you good sir!   And ... CDG is it buddy!  :))  Chicken Dinner Gaming!  Spread the word.

let me know when you get it.  I also bought it for @SpartanEvolved ... (even though @mastermario gives me crap for spartan giving me Overwatch)... we should play!

That's a bummer @targetrasp lol.... That description REALLY makes me not want to play Star Fox 2.  That also kills a bit of my memory of Star Fox... However, Star Fox is still a fun game.

Did you break it out and try any more?
#1611
So... why are many of these mini consoles botched so bad?  So much disappointment, there is.

Did you get much play time with it at all?

It seems like a lot of those end of life cycle games turn out to be collectable. Had I seen this sooner I would have got one.
yeah... this ended VERY quick...  Probably 20 min.   I was about ready to login ad buy one... then it became 'pickup via store"... and none were close.   Now... I don't think any are available.
#1613
@Polygon LOL... 3.11 ??  really?  That's pretty cool.  Hopefully not connected to Internet lol.  I haven't messed around with that OS in so long... probably since Windows 95.    So... what do you still do with a Windows 3.11 pc?
#1614
That I have not seen... BUT... I checked it out.  It appears you are 100% correct:

Grab a Poké Ball™ and begin your journey - pokeballplus.nintendo.com

Per the Website:

  • Take your Pokémon wherever you go - Take your Pokémon for a stroll in your Poké Ball Plus out in the real world.  When you're out and about, you can gently shake your Poké Ball Plus and the Pokémon inside will make a sound* and the Poké Ball Plus will vibrate.
  • Search for Pokémon without looking at your smartphone -  Play Pokémon GO without checking your smartphone screen. When a Pokémon appears nearby, Poké Ball Plus will light up and vibrate. A simple button press lets you throw a virtual Poké Ball, and different LED light patterns will let you know if you've caught the Pokémon.  As long as your Poké Ball Plus is connected to your smartphone and the Pokémon GO app, it will also count your steps so you can hatch Eggs and get Candy for your Buddy Pokémon.

There is a device compatibility list at the Official Pokémon Go Website.

I must admit, This is some what of a cool feature.

@Jack and @targetrasp it's $8.40 from Amazon right now... you can easily get $8.40 out of the game.  Just a heads up in case you want to purchase and play with your good pal BLUEVOODU  ;D
#1616
I think I'm picking this up from Best Buy today.  It's $40 with the steel book for the standard edition.   I am buying the Playstation 4 version this time due to issues with Battlefield 1 PC and the dying crowd.  @SpartanEvolved and I could never find a match after a certain point.... but @Aya-Kun could still find Battlefield 1 Playstation 4 matches.  Even today there is a better community.

Is anyone else picking it up?  @targetrasp @CreepinDeth ?

It would be cool to get a few playing if possible.
#1617
lol... and that was very nice of @SpartanEvolved   ... and I'm now at level 5.  So there's more progress.

What progress have you made @mastermario ?   Also, you should get Diablo 3 and play with us.

Other Progress I made:
1.)  Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Black out... made it to level 13 or 14 and a tier that's like double that now.  Having a hard time keeping my KD up right now.  Frustrating lol.  I'll hit many rounds of 1-3 kills ... then go 9 rounds of getting smacked around.
2.)  We made it further in Lego The Movie Video Game

#1618
Has anyone else purchased this game?   you know.. I've seen many ads for it... it really does look cool.   It's that bad @Grindspine ?  SOme of the screenshots at the Steam store look a lot like something out of Castlevania 1 ... or 3.

The reviews are overwhelmingly positive... which is encouraging.
#1619
@targetrasp What are those grips?  Pics?

Also... Super Mario Party looks to be receiving great reviews.  I'm highly interested in picking this up now...  and hoping for a good deal over the holidays.

I'm still debating if Mario Party 5 for the Gamecube is the best lol.
#1620
@Grindspine needs a pair of these LOL.
