I know @Jack was pumped for the Switch release as well.  Diablo 3 was released November 2nd on the switch.  Honestly though... I haven't heard many people talking about It - yet.

Guys at work were excited for the Offline play so we could play on the conference room TV over lunches LOL.

If I do get that game I would most likely play the Gamer minigame.
@Bomber Man ... what exactly is that?

you better download all those vc games onto something, starting jan 2019 there's no vc or Netflix on wii
Ugh... we need a thread for this too.  Really?  Why can't they just magically import them or make them work on the Switch.  Now I need to figure out what to do.  Thank you for telling me @targetrasp

@CreepinDeth Yeah... I totally remember this happening with Black Sabbath and Ozzy Albums.  I Was glad to buy the remastered version... but not at the cost of losing the original recordings.  I have them all and in good condition.  In fact, I bought a really cool small Megadeth boxset in Germany.  I also bought @Grindspine a rare Napalm Death CD over there... if I remember correctly... or was that something else Grinspine?  Maybe I bought me the Napalm Death and he the Dimmu borger (Spelling?)

QuoteWe need a metal thread asap!

OK.. Metal Thread - let's start It up! lol.  Do eet... do eet now!  Megadeth - Hanger 18!

Metallica... I love their old stuff... but they lost it at Load.  They Lost it hard... It's sad to say... but honestly, they may have just been burnt out of everything as well.  Others will say they lost it at the Black Album.  IDK... there are some really good songs on the black album.

I didn't realize Nintendo won a Lawsuit... that's another topic we need... that would be a great topic.

^ Now that's a lot of on and off topic ^ lol  ;D

I wonder what happens to the physical copies of fortnite when the servers go offline? will it still be insanely expensive due to rarity alone or once there's nothing to play does it lose appeal
Well.. we are already seeing that with Wii, Xbox, and some Gamecube games.   Phantasy Star Online seems to have kept it's value - so far.  I guess a lot depends If there is still single player capable.  Can you play the Save the World mode of FortNite offline?

I Cannot imagine paying top dollar for a game you couldn't even play because the servers are down.  BUT it could also be like Phantasy Star Online where fans started up their own servers.

So... I found the PlayStation Vita Multiverse collections edition (I think it was collectors) at Gamestop in another town.  I have it on order... so hopefully it will be on the way soon.  UNFORTUNATELY, they didn't do a direct ship... they did a ship to store.  The local Gamestop said "yeah... they aren't doing their job."  They did a bro move and ordered for me.  But that was a week ago.... $24 new.

Hopefully this arrives soon...   I Thought It was cool to find the PlayStation Vita Physical version.  It probably will be well for the collector side of things.

@Jack I Think you forgot to add me to PS4  ;D

I Think it's time we get a Black Ops 4 match going.   That ... and we need to play Diablo 3 again.

@targetrasp I saw you play this the other night... how did you like it?
#1717
Well... back in what... 2001?  I dropped $350 on Metal Slug 3 Japanese for the Neo Geo AES.   I never thought twice about it.

Outside the Neo Geo AES.... I Cannot find myself spending that kind of money in this day and age of gaming.... nope.  I mean... if it was the uber-God-of-the-whale armor (old Diablo 1 reference) edition of something I really want, maybe?  I Cannot 100% rule it out though.  I've done it once.  The thing about the Neo Geo AES game, I knew I wasn't going to lose out on the money if I ever needed to sell it off for whatever reason.

If I needed to sell the statues and game, would there even be a market?  possibly.   It's just a unique piece.

Speaking of Gradius... you should check out this post on this game called Super Hydorah.  Maybe you have heard of it?

Super Hydorah

There are a lot of similarities to Gradius.

I believe I have the Gradius Collection for the PSP as well... this post made me want to break that out AND Gradius Galaxies for the Game Boy Advance.

Yeah... we need to create more Neo Geo posts... There's a lot to cover again lol  ;D

The clicky switches were nice.  But as I mentioned... they wore out quite a bit on the Neo Geo game pads.  I'm a bit torn if they should be used anymore... EVEN THOUGH I love the clicky switches.

These are out and shipping now, correct? Anyone have any experiences of the Neo Geo Mini to Share?

well. anymore?  Not sure who has an original Sega CD.   I had a couple go through the shop, but they were a bit rare.  I bet @retro junkie would be our best bet these days if anyone had one LOL.

Definitely a cool piece... it makes me want to buy one.   I've had a bit of the Rambo 3 and General Chaos itch lately  ;D

I ended up buying this game for the PlayStation 4 and Vita from the PlayStation Store.  I wanted the physical copy, but it was more than I wanted to spend.  There are a couple versions of the game for sale:

Super Hydorah Limited Classic Edition - Playstation 4 (Limited Run Games) - Amazon.com

  • Limited to 2,000 copies available worldwide. Region free.
  • Includes game and SNES-inspired outer box, CD soundtrack, and 18 x 24 inch fold-out poster.

Super Hydorah - Playstation 4 (Limited Run Games) - amazon.com

Super Hydorah Limited Run #149 -PS Vita - Amazon.com

This game is quite a bit like Gradius Galaxies - for the GBA I think it is.  The 1st few waves of enemies are almost identical.  Muscle memory kicked in ... it was weird. Reminded me exactly of Gradius.... but other parts of the game are 100% unique.  I posted this somewhere on a steam comment as well.

Here is the steam store link:
Super Hydorah - store.steampowered.com

Also, here's the Abylight Studios link:
Super Hydorah - abylight.com

If you're a Shmup fan, this game is worth a try.  I Think I bought it on PlayStation Network for $12 something... I Could be wrong on that.  I don't normally see it under $20.  Obviously you'll have to pay upwards $60-100 for physical copies... and the Super Nintendo Box version looks pretty cool.  I'm definitely a Shmup fan... and the Gradius style is a lot of fun.  The weapons system is different.  There are a lot of other differences as well - and enough to keep any Shmup fan interested for a long time.  I hope they keep making more titles like this.  It seems we have had a resurgence of Shmup titles.

Thoughts?  Comments?  Post it up!

None of these links go to our site's credit.  If you purchase, please use the ads above.

Old topic resurrection.

@targetrasp PSO multiplayer?

@Strubes Any links for this?   I took a little and didn't see a title.
#1723
yeah.... I haven't got into statuary as well.   I know @Aya-Kun has an amazing collection.  Not sure how many others this would appeal to... $350 is a ton of money.  Dark Siders is a decent game... but not sure it would be worth buying the collectors piece.

Still bravo for doing something cool.

@Grindspine it's gone... but I do have espresso 101 AND Some of their New Red Panda lol :D  They're both tasty....

I did that with Samurai Shodown for the Neo Geo MVS.  I was hooked at that point... absolutely hooked.

It appears the Youtube poster has been cut-off... that somewhat sucks,  but I don't know If they stole that video or the content?  Or maybe something else happened... I Didn't look it up though.

General Discussion / Re: Roms, Emulation, and Nintendo

@CreepinDeth it is interesting... on Amazon prime and other music services, you won't be able to find the original Megadeth Rust in Piece CD.  You can only seem to buy the Digital Remastered...and there are some parts with significant sound changes.  Some of the parts, I like the original better by far.  There are some other parts where I thought they need updating.

In the same case... Video Games.  It would be really cool if Nintendo would offer a consistent services.  Here's what I mean.. I bought a bunch of Virtual Console games on the Wii.  I realllllly wish I could use them through the switch.  Maybe I can?  I didn't think so... but I feel I should be able to because I paid decent money back in the day to get those.  It would be cool for there to be a vault of some sort - and to ward off Rot as you mentioned, creepin.

It would also be cool for many of those games to be updated and playable online.  For example, many of the old NES games... you could play 2 player coop online, or play against other people.  Super Nintendo F-Zero... same thing.  That would be cool.  Not sure how long it would last or the type of traffic it would receive.. but that would be cool.  This is a bit outside the discussion of this topic though.

Double Dragon arcade was A LOT of fun.  I remember playing that game at Hotels as we travelled to see family in other places.    Now, you rarely see an arcade anywhere you travel.  Same thing with Nam 1975, operation Wolf, and Golden Axe.    The 1st time I played Super Mario Bros was in a hotel... life was changed after that lol.

They could definitely be good gifts.  They aren't too expensive and they contain really unique items... so unique, many cannot seem to be found outside these boxes.

Subscribing to them every month... I Couldn't imagine having all that stuff sitting around.  The socks wouldn't  be sitting around though... but they just aren't work attire either lol  :))

Those videos are pretty cool.  Guava Juice had a couple different ones too... the Ebay mystery boxes.   Crazy enough... $10,000 and $20,00 mystery box.  I have no idea who would spring for those outside of shows.   Heck... over $50, I really want to know what I'm getting.  I Think he may have done a $100k box as well.   in one of his boxes, he made out a ton on  bitcoin that had massively appreciated.

Lol @targetrasp ... I'm free. Play me.  I'm fun. Do it... do eeett nowww.   Get to da choppa!  :))
#1732
LOL... I still need to do that at the current place.  I want to build a book shelf.. we really need a place for all of our books.  That's the main reason I haven't bought into any of the Loot Crates.   The Star Wars editions were really tempting and had cool Loot.  But... I just don't have the space nor want to continually store a lot of "crap" around the house... as cool as some of this stuff is.

I don't judge anyone for buying into these... some of the stuff looks pretty cool and unique.
#1733
It would definitely free up some space, that's for sure... but the "sound bar" it pretty large and there's short cable attaching it to the TV.   The larger components and connections of the TV are housed in the larger sound bar.

I agree though... $13000...  is ridiculous.

I plan to keep rocking my plasma for a long time... even though I'd like to venture into the 4K realm at some point in the future.  The TV will have to meet the build quality of the Plasma I currently own though.  It won't be as heavy... they just aren't as heavy... that's not totally a bad thing.  but I don't want to give up the sturdiness.

LOL... not even a go at it, @targetrasp ?

I Thought they already did base building... but I guess the introduction to base building is in Beta now... along with vehicles... which were there a long time ago, but removed lol.

Hey @SpartanEvolved   ;D
#1736
I hear you... I Thought I was the last person to keep an eye on it.  I probably forgot about it now for over 1 year.     Hate to say it... it's exiting to see it in Beta now LOL  ;D

I'm going to give it a little run for its money.  It would be cool to see the new features.

FortNite / FortNite Cross Play works well Now
November 10, 2018, 09:46:33 PM
As mentioned in the FortNite PS4 - How many of you play? topic... Cross play has been working well lately.

We have now tested... PlayStation 4 playing with Cell Phone, Switch, AND Xbox One.  They all work together.  FortNite is not my favorite game... but it is fun to get a squad together here and there to play.  It's interesting that so many platforms play well together.  Honestly... this should be how gaming comes together online.

Also, since Nintendo Switch Online is active... you do not have to pay for Nintendo Switch online to play FortNite online on the Switch.   FYI.

@Grindspine ... you can join up with us.  Cross play now works across all systems... PS4, Xbox, PC, and Switch.   Maybe we could get a squad with @targetrasp

@Aya-Kun Did you try it anymore?

I wish we could get @mastermario playing as well lol... but he seems to shun the game.

The Zombies mode was a lot of fun.  I'm going to miss that ... it added an extra fun dimension to the game.  I wish they would keep that mode... or maybe do it once a month.

If anyone played the old Arma 2 Dayz Mod... you probably felt the excitement once Dayz Standalone was announce and then released.   Months and years went by... still in Alpha... adding weapons and miscellaneous items that just didn't make sense or add to the game.  Honestly... I thought this game was going to stay in Alpha and end up being one of the Early Release games that just die.    This game lost all its support and fan base has dwindled.

NOW... on November 7... it's announced that Dayz exits Alpha and enters Beta with a large update:
DayZ finally enters beta and rolls out some early mod tools - steampowered.com

SAY WUT?!??!   This came out of no where... at least for me.  I quit watching releases of Dayz news a long time ago.  Is there hope?  I don't know.  I just re-downloaded the game and I'm going to check it out

Who used to play the Arma 2 Dayz Mod?   Who has trolled around in Dayz Standalone?
