I haven't talked about or made a topic on the Neo Geo CD in 5 - 6 years.  I probably haven't broke out my Neo Geo CD since 2013... maybe even 2012.    This SNK system was a center piece for me for many years and was an affordable way to break into to Neo Geo market.   I still owned the Neo Geo AES... but I had far more games on the Neo Geo CD.

So who still owns a NEO GEO CD or CDz system?  What are your thoughts on the system these days?

My last game buy was Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 - US - for the Neo Geo CD.  It is still sealed and new. I think I'm going to leave it sealed now.

What the what?!

Do you just shop at 1 place?  Do you use different services / Apps to scour the best price at multiple sites?    Or do you shop multiple sites and price compare yourself?

What is your strategy?  What do you do to find the best deals?

Post it up!   Please provide details and links.

Yes... you know, like Lego Harry Potter.  I want the Lego Goonies Game - that covers the full movie.  Like yesterday.   Goonies Music.  HEYYYY YOU GUYSSS... all the above.    :))

I wasn't talking about the Dimensions game or Goonies Add-on lol.  I would like to get that though, but no... I don't have the portal yet and I missed it when it was on sale.  If you see any more on sale, let me know... I'm still looking.

lol... so... you've already shelved Starlink before you bought it.  And Then you're going to buy it anyway... so you can Shelve it.  That sounds about right.

Retro Gaming and Hardware / Zelda: Skyward Sword - Wii
August 30, 2018, 07:51:54 PM
This is not a full on review.  I pre-ordered this game when it 1st game out on the Wii.   I bought the special edition with the Gold Remote... the Gold remote is really cool.   The design is great, the gold paint has stayed on it (perfect), and BATTERIES HAVE NOT CORRODED IN YET.  That's a plus.  Somehow Batteries corroded in 2 of 4 of my original Wii-Motes.

The game was weird though.   There have been people stating it was "perhaps" better than Ocarina of Time.  The controls were a bit odd with the Remote... and the flying mechanisms controls made me want to punch myself in the face... or throw the remote into the wall.   Overall story was good... but sadly, I never finished the game.

Who else played this? What are your thoughts?  Did you finish this game?!    Post it up!

I'm still looking at these... the design is just cool.  It's pretty amazing what they've done with Amiibos - at least in the art styling.

I'd like to see more Metroid Amiibos
#2047
lol... Maybe it would have.

If you even remotely liked the original Flashback on the Super Nintendo (Snes)... you will definitely like this game.  It was such a punch in the face 1st playing the game though.   It took me a minute to figure it out and that was frustrating.  I completely forgot a lot of the game.... which is good for the initial play value because it's like never playing the game before LOL.

@targetrasp Idk.. I had a lot of fun with Red Alarm and Mario Tennis.  That's me though.  I get what you mean on the pace of Red Alarm... it was a little slower.  I found it to be a super unique game and a lot of fun.

I think Red Alarm needs its own topic at some point here.
#2049
lol... man... wars have been started over much less than that @targetrasp wow... that sucks.

That's good he made up for it - maybe apologized and stuff like that... but whew I Think I would be a bit hot on that one.

The prices I am seeing on this thing are not very encouraging.
@retro junkie What are you seeing?

OK... as mentioned and few other times and also @targetrasp 's post in the Recent Game Happenings thread... We need a Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch topic.

How many of you own this game?   Who used to play it?  Who is still playing it?

The game looks awesome.  The gameplay looks like it rivals Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask in the awesomeness category... if I dare to say that.    The monsters look cool.  The new battle elements look like they were brilliantly laid out and designed... as well as controls.  The switch has  A LOT of positives in the control realm.  They did a great job designing the Switch... but I digress.

Feel free to write a full review on Zelda: Breath of the Wild if you wish in a new thread and link the threads.  Short reviews go in here.  I have not bought the game, but it's high up on the list.

Thoughts? Comments?  Post It up!

Let's start this!   I have Spiderman pre-ordered.  I'm hoping it's as good as it looks.    We need a topic for this game.  The collector's edition steelbook (red with white spider logo) looks awesome.  I dig the scheme of that... I want it... lol... but I don't want to buy the full collectors edition.

The hopes are to play this game day one with all the cool kids.
#2054
Lol!   Ah that's satisfying.  It's like some of those moves in Super Street fighter 2 when you're playing someone too serious lol. Good times @Snatcher_L
#2055
Thank you for the heads up @Strubes

Progress.   We made a bit of progress in Super Smash Bros for the Wii U..  Played the game through a few times and have several of the completion trophies.  Playing it through with duck hunt...  was a bit challenging lol.  We definitely need a Super smash Bros Wii u topic.
#2056
@targetrasp you seem to be a magnet for good deals.  You and @retro junkie

@Aya-Kun Thakn you for posting that... it took me a bit to see the reply.  That looks pretty interesting - I read up a bit online as well.  Interesting art style... and buh... some of those robots have creepy faces lol.

@mastermario ICQ Is still on there... it's  actually a thing again. LOL

@Mai Valentine - The Last of Us is so good. @SpartanEvolved and I used to play the online back on Ps3.  It was pretty cool.  We definitely need a Last Of Us topic at some point.

@Strubes I have that game... I just haven't played it yet.  It looks to be a blast.  I have the 1st game too... can't say I've broke 2 min on it.  Gaming ADD hits hard....

LOL... hoping to get a few rounds of PSO with @mastermario (cough cough).  Hoping to install tonight.

@targetrasp ... I need Breath of the Wild.  I need more time 1st... but this is very high up on my list to buy.  The wants... the wants.  Surprised we don't have a Breath of the Wild topic.

@targetrasp Sorry... I think I missed this response.  I had the general game set that came with it, dock, 2 controllers ( I think it was 2)... and then Last Blade was included at the time.  There wasn't enough play on the system to justify buying the other games.  In face, it slipped out of active play pretty quickly.

I re-visit the Neo Geo X here and there now... It would be cool to check out this Neo Geo Mini as well.  Been tempted to look at it more since @CreepinDeth posted this lol.

did yours get opened and enjoyed? I've not cracked the shrink wrap on mine
@targetrasp  NICE!  You're one of the 1st one to start getting the post bars lol.  Half.  I started those at 500.

OK... we actually enjoyed playing it.  I started playing the original mode and forgot how much of a punch in the face this game initially is without instructions.  I haven't played it in awhile, so I figure everything out again lol.   SO... after repeatedly punching myself in the face... I got it.  It was a lot of fun.  Hopefully I can do up a full on review for this game.

Here is my review on Amazon.com:
Bluevoodu's Amazon.com review of Flashback 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition - Nintendo Switch

We then started playing the new modes... I will save this for my main review... unless you want to hear it now? :)  Essentially there's a tutorial and stuff like that.

There are video options where you can make it like you were playing with Scan Lines...etc... and CRT settings to make it look more like a CRT.  Overall.. it's pretty fun.    The only real downside I see is the color manual doesn't fit in the thin metal case.  The manual is too tall. IMO that's not a BIG deal... it's kind of dumb... but not a big deal.  Game wise... it's fun.

IDK if you should open yours - that has to  be your choice.  I still have sealed games I haven't played yet, but I generally get around to opening them and playing at some point.

@targetrasp I think this game looks like it might be alright.  Hard to not get a little excited seeing Starfox in the line up.    I agree... it looks pretty vanilla... but something about this game has me intrigued.   I'm not intrigued about the $75 price point though lol.

The "toys  to life" aspect has its place in the market.  It's hard to see where at this time... as you mentioned, they end up making it to the discount shelf.  But come on... Lego Dimensions with the Lego Goonies "add-on" characters??  lol... yes please.  I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY (is that enough for you??) want Lego Goonies.    I would pay $60 1st day for Lego Goonies.  I know I'm being super stupid with that price point... but I Would do it ... NAOW!!!!

The take away from this post should be:  I really fricking  want Lego Goonies.  HEEEYYYYY YOOOOUUUU GUUUYYYYYSSSS!!!!
#2063
Yeah.  Maybe that's the difference... humor styles people enjoy.

I'd like to see it again. Makes me want to go back and watch the 1st one again too lol.
#2064
@retro junkie LOL.. probably not... although I wore my shirts somewhat large back then so they were hanging off me.  There might be a fighting chance it would fit me today (nope).

@mastermario  you know.... I Cannot find a single one of these on Ebay or anywhere.  and because I thought it was interesting.    ;D

@targetrasp  lol you're dead on correct with that assessment.

Operation wolf was fun.... You could also do Nam 1975 and I would personally love a line of Arcade 1UP machines dedicated to just shmups. It would be my Shmup room lol   :))

While doing a bunch of stuff ... I found one of my old shirts from when I was a kid lol.  My Super Nintendo (SNES) Starfox  Super FX t-shirt.

It's still in pretty good condition. I don't think I received this in the Starfox tournament I was in... I think it was bought from them store.  I need to verify that.

On the front side... there is a Super FX logo. On the back side,  there's an Arwing, Starfox logo, and 1992 Nintendo copyright.

I will probably upload these to the server outside attachments... attachments they are right now.   In fact, I had to remove one.  I'll get them up as attachments layer. I thought it was cool and wanted to share.

Here are the images:

lol.. the diner - hm... new site idea.   ;D

404 sarcasm not found... @targetrasp lol... nope... it's found.
#2068
@retro junkie What I find amazing about this... is the $60 price point.  HDMI N64 has been upwards $400.  Others have been $100+.

Are there other options to provide scan lines like the N64 HDMI Updates?

How much play have you had with this so far?  Still digging it?
#2069
I have been performing testing of many different features, copying the site...etc.... and I broke some stuff today   ;D  YAAAAAAYYY (Picturing headshot sound from Halo).  ;D

Anyway... I think everything is fixed.  If you run into anything not working, please let me know.

Also, if you haven't been here in awhile... drop by, say hi, and post it up!  It is your Civic duty.

Thank you,

Yeah there definitely were bugs on the Dreamcast lol.

I bet @MegaDrive20XX is getting this title.  What say you mega? Lol. Not sure he'll see this... time to text him.

Has this game been hyped a lot around the net?  I've seen a few stories but not a ton.
