Awesome post.  It's really cool to see how much Valve updated this game. I've had this in my library for an extremely long time. Hopefully others are able to partake in this legendary title.

I was sad to see Loki episode 6 was the season finale.  However, this show went out with a bang.

Did anyone check it out?  Just finished watching it.

We all remember the original topic:  WEREWOLF by Night created by @retro junkie

Now we have Werewolf by Night in color... which is pretty much the same thing in color.  However, I didn't look at them side-by-side (or within a close-enough) time frame to see if there are ANY differences.   I didn't look it up either.  This was a fun dive back into a fun movie from 2022... and I enjoyed the view.

Has anyone else watched this?  Are you planning to?

I personally hope they work up to an anakin series... OR they include him a lot more in the series.  It's something that needs to happen now that his character looks a lot better after the Clone Wars series.  It would be a mistake to not do this.

Getting ready for Episode 5... Episode 4 was pretty awesome.  What did you think about episode 4?

I hope we get more Captain America: Winter Soldier!

It's not surprising in some aspects.  I am surprised it took until 2024 for this to happened. I was talking digital distribution taking over way back when I was running my store, on our podcasts, etc.

However, a lot of people are suckers for the steel book releases including me.  There is money to be made there. I still buy blu-ray movies.  I guess I don't care that others want just digital. I have digital copies but I've been in many scenarios where we internet was toast and we have relied on physical copies.  It essentially leaves you with 2 choices:
1.) buy digital - live with limited licenses and potentially required data connections
2.) pirate - which I don't do but I see why it's increasing now... and the greed of companies is the motivation.

It's ridiculously expensive now to roll with a few streaming services. It's really becoming like or worse to how cable tv was.

However, people don't care ... it's not the popular way to do things anymore.  People are downsizing and owning smaller places. It's very expensive to have space to store... and it can be tough taking care of all those physical possessions. Materialism has been strong in the world for a long time.

Here's another problem. Companies can decide to disappear whatever they want whenever they want as shown by Disney. Will the shows resurface?  Who knows. If a companies dies, those (games, shows) could be gone.

In addition to the above - Time - people are not replaying as much anymore. They are using and moving on. It's a trend that is filtering into all facets of people's lives. Jobs (though I don't blame people on this one), relationships, friends, etc. It's one of the biggest trends I've notice over the last several years.

There is value in physical movies and games. But... that's only with demand. If demand ever drops out, That value goes away.  This is the danger of inventory. Prices don't stay up forever.  Sometimes they fluctuate and then increase.  Other times, they fluctuate and drop... or drop out all-together.  I'd rather had a blu-ray worth $3 I can reclaim if necessary.

Well Hopefully you all had a chance to check this out.  We were going to rewatch a few episodes... however, it's been removed from Disney+.

I missed this announcement.  Several other shows have also been removed.  Not sure I like that, but it doesn't matter.  This was also a good show.

They also removed " The World According to Jeff Goldblum..." which I thought was a decent show.

What's up, D+??  Thoughts, comments... post it up!

It really did seem more like a season finale.   Episode 2 was pretty great as well. I'm a bit confused by a couple event, but went back to season 1 to see if I could figure some of those pieces out.

I probably should've prepped by re-watching season 1 beforehand.

Top Gun: Maverick came to prime.  After it made it to prime, I think I've watched it another 2-3 times. It really is a good movie worth a view... especially if you remember the 1st.

Has anyone else checked it out?

This isn't necessarily new news.  I wanted to add this topic for awhile now.  The Sony Q is a planned handheld that is not like the Vita or anything else.  It appears to simply be a Sony player like the functionality of the Vita where it allowed remote playing of games from the console on the same network.

I like the concept, but I'd like to have this functionality in a new Vita style device.  I'm not sure how much of a market there is for this device. What are your thoughts?

I guess I always long for a new Vita.. but that could be my "preference" that maybe stems from happy memories. I can't say that's the case... but that may be the case.

Here's more information from theverge:

Thanks you @retro junkie and @targetrasp ... I'm stuck on a SHMUP kick. This time it's RayStorm X RayCrisis HD Collection for the Nintendo Switch.  I've not had a chance to enjoy these titles.  If I remember right, RayStorm came through the shop as a PlayStation 1 game.

This package contains 2 games - RayStorm and RayCrisis.

Have you played this game?  Are you interested in this game? What are your thoughts?

On a shooter kick for the Switch!   I figure @retro junkie and @targetrasp are all ears lol.  This time it's SHMUP Collection for the Nintendo Switch.

It appears there are 3 games in 1 ... each of a different SHMUP variety.  I'm intrigued and interested.  Has anyone else checked this out or played it?

Quote from: targetrasp on September 27, 2023, 08:46:59 AMThe neo arcade one gave me the impression of an off-brand R-Type. Nothing stood out, but I played it because I too enjoy shooters. I'm not crazy about bullet hell shooters so games like R-type are more my speed. Andro Dunos 2 looks like it's much better than the original and made it to my wish list but for some reason hasn't hit the cart yet.

@targetrasp - same here. It hasn't made it to my cart yet.  It definitely looks better than the original.

@retro junkie - I've been doing the same thing!  IE bought Raiden and a few others as well. I also bought a few Neo shooters from the Nintendo shop.

We haven't had Netflix for a little while now - for about the last year.  I think I'm going to have to cancel one service, start up another... and rotate them out. This is ridiculous but the cost of services are even more  ridiculous at this time.

I want to check out Castlvania.  It looks interesting...

So what do you think the over/under is they are working up an Anakin series @CreepinDeth ??

I ask this without looking at anything ahead of time.    I wonder if they are working up an Anakin story. It would be a major wasted opportunity for everything they've done.
#230
@Grindspine  --> I'm going to check Hollow Knight. I think I saw it in my list and I have not played. IF not, I believe it's great on Deck... and pretty cost worthy.  This will be added to my collection if not there.

Are you still playing?
#231
Day-Z... this was the game to play pre-PUBG if you were looking for Battle-Royale style games.  However, it was bogged down with bugs and tons of development issues.  At one point, they fully removed the zombies from the game until certain bugs were fixed.   The game was finally released a couple years (maybe few) back that was playable.

I'm revisiting Day-z  and it's been fun.  I have yet to see another player... but the zombie, survival and fighting mechanisms seem to be working ok.  Maybe I don't see people because I tend to starve to death or die by Zombie attacks.  For some reason, it still is fun.  Maybe it won't be after a few more months.

Moving on to the Steam Deck...  I really want to get Day-z working well on the Deck.  It is not officially supported, but the community layout works OK.  One of the issues... I cannot figure out how to throw a grenade.  LOL  :-[   I found smoke grenade, pulled it... and, thankfully it was not an explosive grenade because I couldn't throw it.

Have you played this game recently?  Thought about playing it?

Did anyone notice any other issues?  I think I have it all corrected now.   IE missing images...etc.   If so, I Will unsticky this topic.

@retro junkie no problem... except you made me feel crazy for a few!  ;D

I dug episode 8.  I hope Season 2 comes a bit quicker.  Still ... hard to believe - $250Million?!  That's a lot of money to put into viewership.  But Everything was super well done.

I really dig how it went.  I get the perception of Ahsoka being more about Sabine... however, it really rounds out the story of Ahsoka and also Anakin.  Seeing these additional pieces (IMO) helped round out the picture.

I believe we watched Episode 8 last night? maybe it was 7... but I think it was 8.  Will check this later.  The last episode was pretty awesome as well.

Also... I didn't realize the cost was $250,000,000.  That seems very expensive, though they have been high quality, effects, sounds...etc.
#237
@retro junkie - when you have the chance go play again. Those stages you highlighted above with the webs... you fly super slow or near stand still, correct?  And with the ship, were you able to jump?

I swear I remember playing something like this or actually playing this game.
#238
I really enjoyed the PSVita.  I'm glad it came out and I had the chance to buy and play it.  It's one of those systems that (IMO) was underrated and should've succeeded along with the 3DS.  It had a decent amount of power and was just great with all features... including trophies and messaging as well.

As far as Angry Birds, it wasn't my favorite. But it was a lot of fun and there's good memories tied to playing it.  It's pretty cheap... and a decent find.   It might be worth the $10-15 new for your collection.

@Grindspine - thought I responded to this but I don't see it.   You are spot on... imo those were epic scenes.

Episode 6 was pretty awesome.  Can't wait to see what episode 7 holds.

@retro junkie - what do you mean?

I'm absolutely happy they didn't cap at 6. I was hoping they would go to 9 or 10.  Hey - I can dream.

@mastermario @SpartanEvolved @trkorecky  - are you guys watching Ahsoka?
