To be honest... I've been out of gaming builds because I went to Computer Builders Anonymous and stopped getting the itch to build every 6 months.... well... every year.  Since 2013 I've been using the same build and still max everything out at 1080p.  Another discussion... another time.   So what's the hype?  Why is this so much better than other AMD's ... and other Intel chips that have been superior in the past.   

I understand AMD for a long time had the price component... they were cheaper, but you knew to accept less performance.  It really looks like AMD over the last generation of chips is trying to change this.

On hothardware.com I saw the following:

I haven't perused that site much... but this is interesting.

So... I've always been a AMD CPU fan.  I've had NVidia graphics processors before... several.  But I've always been a fan of AMD GPUS.


@Polygon @trkorecky -->  what's the draw here?  Is this chip a game winner?  I know Intel has made some VERY stupid mistakes over the last 2-3 years.

Call of Duty: WWII Season pass.    It's $50... which is steep in my opinion.

Now.... I  have not looked into what compatibility PS4 has yet - so don't sacrifice me on that point.   I have an older Logitech G35 headset that still works like a champ.  I really like it... BUT for PC.  I haven't looked into PS4 to see if drivers and stuff are compatible.  I doubt it and would be shocked if so 

With that said... What PS4 headsets do you like?  What would you want (if you had the choice)...  And / Or what do you own?   and please provide links.

I used to use just an ear piece for Playstation 3.  I had a Turtle Beach one... and also the original uncomfortable ear hole splitting PS3 headset - Sony version I Think it was.  They did well.  I would be ok with those type again... as I don't necessarily like a full headset with noise cancellation when I'm gaming in a room with other people.  It has a rage effect on me when I cannot hear what's going on. lol

oh... I also have a Plantronics Bluetooth headset I use for my phone... maybe that will work just fine.  In fact, I think I will test that out now.

I like the new theme and would of course switch to dark ASAP, but is there a way to modify it so the left bar is anchored to the window and not the top left of the site? So it's always floating and accessible as we scroll down through a topic? Maybe move the hamburger "minimize sidebar" button to it as a left / right arrow?

Those are good suggestions @trkorecky .   I think @Kinikko wanted the darker colored theme as well.   At some point, I'll develop a darker theme based off this one.   

I will looking into potentially changing the 3 bar to an arrow and the float.   That would be more helpful IMO.  Not sure how hard it'll be to change everything right now.  Trying to keep everything as close to stock for the time being - customizing has changed since we were on the last version of SMF.   I Will definitely look into this though.

I totally missed it this year due to stuff going on... However, I noticed there was no topic for this!

What did you buy?     What is your favorite games from the sales that you bought?  What about the most worth while bundles?

It was okay.  I thought the entire plot only existed to setup for the next movie.

@Kinikko definitely CANNOT disagree with that point.  That was made pretty obvious by the ending.. which I will not spoil.    It's cool they are moving the series forward.  I wonder where they will go next with the story.

@Kinikko I hear you on the time consuming part... real life and sorting out hobbies... the struggle is real lol.   Did you enjoy it when you did that?

@Baker_Beezy  --> How often are you streaming and posting gameplay videos?  What else do you do?

@MegaDrive20XX  -->  I noticed you do this as well... you have sites listed in your profile... you've done reviews and a lot of other things in the past as well.  What is your go to now?  Do you favor a certain platform?

your bottom suggestion sounds like another cool addition too... I Would love to get the backlog tracker and database going.  I had to take a small hiatus... but looking to get things back on track.   Eventually... there could be integration in with reviews, FAQs and other stuff.  Even thinking about cross site linking to major reviewers... but we will see.  Also, notify us in case of bad information - should be something that allows users to help fill in missing information.

I have a test site now... I don't have everything setup quite yet - working on it.  Once the software is installed (hopefully in the week)... I'm going to start playing around with the concept.. and review information sent by @medataoh and a couple others.  The database will probably be a new / separate database from the forums.

@trkorecky and @medataoh if you're down to help... I'll accept all the help I can get.  I'm not as strong on the programming side as other sides.   Definitely going to meet this one head on 1st... not sure what to ask for help wise yet.

Lol @targetrasp ... I wish I had that arrangement.   But then again... maybe something else comes along with it.

We saw this movie a week or two ago... and wondered what you all thought about the movie.   There was definitely some good... and some bad... but overall I Thought it was pretty good. 

No spoilers from me yet (again lol)... but I'm surprised infinity war hasn't ruined this movie as well

My daughter was playing Fort Nite the other day... and got a lucky kill on someone.   They wrote my PS4 account saying how !$#!@#! lucky we were and we were garbage.  LOL... it was a lucky kill.  BUT... I sent the person a crying baby emoticon and blocked them LOL 

Sucks to suck I guess. 


They were a smurf though... or something.   They had a low level account and only played Fort Nite.

I made more progress in Raiden V.    I rage quit last night though... hard.   I was last stage... and was going to get the achievement for using the same main gun the entire run.     NOPE....    I ran into a lot of fire... took the hits to miss the main weapon power up... but it happened to slide down my way as my craft spun... and I got the power up JUST AS IT TURNED RED FROM PURPLE.   So many rages, precious.

@retro junkie I think that sounds pretty interesting... wish I had a bit more time to try some of these games.

I've seen this video. Thought it was very interesting. I have often wondered as to why Nintendo never took the chance with this add-on. I know add-ons fail miserably in the gaming market. But they marketed the virtual boy.  Throw in some killer games and I feel like this might have been a little more successful.

@retro junkie If they would've released Earthbound...  I think it would have had a strong chance.  Several of the other slated titles looked really cool as well.  Especially with features like F-Zero X where you can create your own maps.  Sim City 64DD was a lot of fun.  I remember playing it... even though it was in Japanese.   You could zoom down to the street level and see if your citizens were happy ... or if they were angry.  But you could walk your streets.. then zoom back out and continue building.  I will make more topics on these games.. even though there are few of them... plus explore all of the titles that were to be in the USA.

I ran across a couple year old youtube video... quite amazing.  I didn't know a USA one existed.  I used to have the Japanese 64DD and had a few come through my shop.  It was a pretty cool piece.  This USA model is quite cool... hard to believe this guy got ahold of it!  Lucky guy   

I noticed at the end... he mentioned Diablo was supposed to come out for the N64DD - At one point it was announced.  I am going to research that as well as other N64DD games to see what I can come up with to make some new N64DD topics.

I figure @MegaDrive20XX and @retro junkie would appreciate this topic as well.

I've been somewhat absent from gaming lately.  I've played a few rounds of FortNite.

FINALLY made decent progress in Raiden V for the PS4.  I beat the game... and now have 33-43% of all trophies (don't remember the number).   I'm going to create an updated topic on this game.  It's a lot of fun - if you like the top scroller style shooter (Shmups).  I also beat the game with all S routes.

How many of you stream and post gameplay videos?   For example:
1.) stream your gameplay live.  Twitch, Facebook, etc
2.)  Post Help videos and content on Youtube - Video Game Related - help Videos, How To's, Tutorials...etc.
3.)  Anything else?

Just curious.  I know @Baker_Beezy does... and I think @MegaDrive20XX still does.

I probably will post a season 5 topic at some point... a lot has changed.  The new Golf Cart is pretty fun to drive as well lol.

Has anyone been playing FortNite lately?  my son and I have been playing it quite a bit pre-season 5.   Time hasn't been there lately to play much.

There are XP events/challenges  to play with a friend... I'd like to join up with someone at some point in the near future.  I finally have my PS4 and internet hooked back up... but don't have my headset or anything else ready to go.   I have a little ear piece somewhere... but cannot find those pieces right now.  Derp.   However, until I do... I'd like to join up with someone to play a bit without comms.

@targetrasp are you still playing?

I am thinking the color was Japan only. The only problem I have had is that some of my games load up in Japanese. I didn't expect that for some reason.

@retro junkie interesting.  I know certain games for the Neo Geo pocket color loaded up in the same manner.  Some Neo Geo CD and AES carts would do the same thing. But interesting this happened with DS carts.

Several languages already exist on most carts.   It would be cool if games played in their native language per the system...  if they exist.  Then they could be switchable via the menus of another language is preferred.

Well my 3DS is one of the older ones and I've been wanting to buy one of the "new" models.  Plus I grew up with the SNES and it's my like fav console of all time really.  I've been eyeballing this for a little while and that's all I needed to jump on it.  XD

Perfect timing...  ... sigh... I Want one too lol.   My 3DS is definitely an older XL model.  ugh...  good deal and sale...

@mastermario @Kinikko @Jack   --> I talked to Mastermario a little about the old Facebook page.  He suggested we rebrand the old page and make it CDG.  We will remove off all old entries of the old site... as well as change ALL branding to the current site.

Or do you think it makes more sense to start a new one?  @mastermario thought it's best just to use the old and move forward.


Ideas for the new Facebook page:
1.)  Need to establish website links (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com)... as well as Discord group web links directly from FB page... and Steam group links.  THEN Interlink this website, STeam group to the FB page as well.  This is important for starting to generate more traffic and relevance.
2.)  Post up events - where we get others together and play games - Advertise on boards and facebook... linking to both.  Maybe linking to Steam group as well.
3.)  Posts of the week...  where you all would take a forum discussion and try to get discussions started at FB and link back to the forums for integrated discussion.  Might be best to have the discussions here and link to FB.
4.)  There are some mods for the forums that would allow us to RSS feed the FB posts here and they would post here as well...
5.)  There might be a way to SSI into Facebook - I need to look into this.  If so, we can post the last "X" number of posts links on Facebook as well.  Would be cool if we could do this automatically.

I might use our master login to post some stuff to the FB page as well.  I just don't use FB anymore personally.

Thoughts?  Let's post them up and coordinate.  I Will rely on you 3 for pushing forward FB.

Just remember... in your profiles, you have these fields... as well as several other fields for different services.  They do not show up until you enter information into the fields.  Go to your profile.  Edit --> Forum Profile.

Not all of them are linked like twitter, Discord, Twitch and others.  If I couldn't access a public webpage, I didn't provide an automatic link and then the small image in the main post area.  However, if there is a login page ... and it allows you to view IF you are already logged in... I will consider making this an active link.  So - if this is the case for Xbox Live... let me know and I Will live link.  @Kinikko and I tested this originally and we couldn't get something to work.  But hey... things do change and I haven't added any more for awhile.

@mastermario @targetrasp Did you do a campaign run?  If so... how did it go?

Time is coming soon for this to be released... July 31st is the current stated release date.  They could still push it back of course lol...
