LOL! @targetrasp you still have one?  While closing down I emailed or called everyone that I had on account with outstanding balances. 

I went as far to make sure all eBay deals that went bust when I got scammed were  repaid. That actually involved getting ahold of some people a 1-2 years out.  In the end I couldn't get ahold of 1 person and they rejected my PayPal payment.  I thought all gift card were accounted for.

It's a port that plays like crap on a one s honestly. It's so buggy but to get that it h of pubg and you cant run it on PC good.

@Baker_Beezy To be fair... it runs horrible on about everything.  I've been enjoying FortNite a bit more...  because it's less buggy... not because it's a "better format."

@targetrasp Or I could save that prize for a future contest, drop the number of required members and do regular game prizes for this one.

Maybe that would be best this time around?

I thought 30 was pretty steep as well... maybe we can reduce it.   This was meant to try to drive as many here as possible...  don't mind us bringing in some younger, but definitely want to keep the quality of posts up.  At this time, 13 is the min age for registration technically.

I'm a big fan of Sins of a Solar Empire - HM... I think a topic needs to be made about that soon.  That's a pretty good "Space Game RTS."   VERY long battles at times though

See... this game is a bit tempting.  I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but Retro's Review of Project X Zone for the 3DS sure makes it more tempting.

I hope to have this put together and posted as an announcement topic before Friday.  I've been researching a few ideas on boosting memberships - and it will come together more as we progress.   

The idea covers 3 areas we have so far:
1.) Site Membership - Top prize will be at the winner with over 30 memberships - baseline will be 30 memberships for top prize.  There will be smaller 2nd and 3rd place prize.
2.) Discord memberships - There will be a prize for the member to get the most people to join our Discord Channel.  The persistent link should work to get members there.  Minimum baseline is 10 memberships.
3.) Steam Memberships - There will be a prize for the member to get the most people to join our Steam Group.  Minimum Baseline will be 10-15 memberships... I need to think if that's enough.

Remember... the ultimate goal is to try to get as many members as possible to join to help move the site forward and get more activity.   Prizes are cool - more activity and helping the site grow is pretty cool as well

The contest will also be posted to Steam and Discord once posted here.

@medataoh Cool If I run stuff by you here and there?  If you want to help out as well... we can use what ever help you can offer.  I'm pretty good with SOWs... working on that right now to get the idea "solidified" and see what options we have to move forward with the idea.  I'm looking to implement this and move forward with more future features - and cool stuff that will move this site forward.

Also, good idea on completion time - for those that would like to provide it.

As I mentioned in the Starpoint Gemini 2 Steam Sale Thread, this game went on sale and has been on my to buy list for awhile. Probably backlog fodder and according to @targetrasp I need to get on the backlog list asap lol.

In the Metroid Amiibo Thread I highlighted the Metroid and Samus Amiibos.   The Metroid one looks especially cool.

What Amiibos do you have? Which ones do you think are the coolest... or even then worst?

What are some of the cool functionalities they provide on the Wii U, 3DS, or Nintendo Switch?

@medataoh That's a great idea....  I'll have to look into exactly how to do something like that.  I'm not a full on developer - that's for sure!  If you have ideas... It would be cool to collaborate at some point.  I'll definitely look into this.

The other thing I'd like to do incorporate are RSS feeds from various sites (our sites) and work on integration.  However... avoiding "duplicate content."  More on that to come later.

That's really cool - very very cool.  It's refreshing when actors remain down to Earth.  I don't think there is a bigger turnoff than a bigger than mentality... well... there might be a couple others lol.

@Baker_Beezy - So you like the Gaming Repository idea?   That's something I wanted to do A LOONNNNGGG time ago.  How do you envision it?   Do you see it the same way as I described it?  OR ... tried to describe it that is lol.

Oof, I shudder to think what my backlog list would look like.

But sounds like a good idea for most. Especially if they mostly play current gen games.

@targetrasp @CreepinDeth   LOL... well... it doesn't necessarily mean you have to input all... but you could Input what you would like to accomplish.  That's the other thing, if other's already have lists... would the site be redundant?  It seems a lot of those replying state they would like this feature... but would it be ultimately used?  I want to be sure we spend time on usable features while expanding the site.

@Mai Valentine  yeah... that is a good point.  I was thinking of something over and above to "extend bragging rights..." but maybe the trophies thing is too much.  I Will consider.  It is something that wouldn't be hard to remove or add - once this is moving.


@Grindspine That shouldn't been too hard and would minimize input - definitely keen on minimizing input.  Hoping again to have "systems" as a populated list.

yeah... #1 will be an undertaking.... but I might be able to start #1 and finish #2 with the right planning.

@Grindspine   - something like that.  Imagine the headers at top:

       Game:             System:      Status:       Done:

1.)    Zelda               NES           Unplayed       _
2.)    Metal Slug        NeoGeo      Completed    X
3.)    Tetris               Game Boy    Played         _



Now... the Status and Systems will probably be a drop down.    The Systems will pull from the "start" of the Gaming Repository Idea Database.     The Status will be populated from somewhere.  The status will be close / something like what I mentioned above:

Not played
Played
Beaten
Beaten with some trophies
Beaten and 100% trophies

So those will be pre-defined and filled in.

@Grindspine originally I was thinking the list would be striked through once they played it ... in other words, they would update "played" and it would be striked off in the list.

However, maybe it would be good to have a second check box to mark "done.". That can be checked at any time. And the 1st check box would be changed to a drop down to also have a status as:
Not played
Played
Beaten
Beaten with some trophies
Beaten and 100% trophies

Those would be refined ... just a quick list.

So if you click the done check box (let's say you played once, didn't dig, and dropping the game) that'll let you check it off as done. 

Does that make sense?  I just thought about that based on what your said.  It's good to have a lot of input on this to come up with the best idea as I'm going to put a statement of work together for this project ... and for developer assistance.

I'm going to create a few topics like this to see if we can get more people playing and also more people eventually consolidated on site.

What games do you currently play online and for what platform (or what games would you like to play?).  For example:
1.) Diablo 3 - PC
2.) Splatoon 2 - Nintendo Switch
3.) Call of Duty: WWII - Playstation 4

I noticed this article in the paper the other day:
Warranty warning stickers illegal, FTC says - Washington Post - www.journalgazette.net

So... those stickers on the bottom of a console (and other various areas) that cover screws... if you remove them it voids the warranty.  This has been a practice for a long time... and supposedly is  illegal.  In my opinion, I shouldn't have been allowed in the 1st place.

This was also done to thwart people fixing their own consoles.  There are some practical reasons for these stickers in my opinion.  It's very easy for some people to botch a fix and then dish it out on a company... but really this was to void your warranty and get the problems off their hands.  I never was a fan of this.

Per the article:

The FTC offered a few examples of terms of service claims that violate the law, including:

• The use of [company name] parts is required to keep your ... manufacturer's warranties and any extended warranties intact.

• This warranty shall not apply if this product ... is used with products not sold or licensed by [company name].

• This warranty does not apply if this product ... has had the warranty seal on the [product] altered, defaced, or removed.

The FTC declined to say what could happen to companies that continue to use these warnings.

I'm not sure on the 1st bullet point.  If you replace with crappy parts that do damage to your system... that doesn't seem like a good and fair solution for both sides of the transaction.

Played a bunch more Fort Nite with the kids... and Splatoon 2... ah... fun game.

yeah ... I've never understood racing seats and why they were so uncomfortable.  I'm with you on the leather executive seats.  They are very nice.
