Yelena and Kate are so much better than him, in my opinion.

I agree. For me, Yelena and Kate playing off of each other was the highlights of that last episode. It might have been better if they had somewhat teamed up earlier, off and on, even if they were opposed to one another. What you are talking about is the pacing of the story when considering 8 episodes, or even 10. The Hawkeye in the comics and animation has been a better character than what has been brought to the screen.

I am not sure at this point if this fits into Marvel's phase 4 at all.  :-X I am confused about where this fits. Unless something takes place in the next season. I need to step back and try to grasp what I just saw in the final episode. There seemed to be too much going on. It was like this going on over here, wait this over here, what no wait this, huh wait now what? I might have to binge watch this whole series. Get up high and look down on everything, sort of like Hawkeye.  :o

I keep bring up the Bishop girl because it seems to be her series from the way it has been presented from the beginning. That's the way it is coming across to us. I am not downplaying her significance to the storyline. But I guess we were expecting Hawkeye to be the lead character. The writing has not been revolving around him. My expectations was a story centering around particularly the person of Hawkeye. It looks like something else and that is where my family and I have been disappointed.

But this could be a groundwork that is being laid for Hawkeye to maybe start the "Young Avengers." Which could be seen in the second season? That would explain the whole deal with the Bishop girl being the center of the whole series and not Clint. I can't see this ending in only one season with one episode left. There is too much hanging. The Bishop girl did take on Hawkeye's persona in her association with the Young Avengers in the comics.

I think the 5th episode was better written than any of the others so far. 3 was good, but this one has a little bit of that feeling of, "we are going somewhere with this." It has been a jumbled bit of bad writing, or directing, maybe both, just to bring us to this point. I think it was wrong to lay the foundation of the series on the girl, that should have been a side story to weave her into the plot. The way they did this made the whole series, off. The focus should have been Hawkeye from the beginning, since the name of the series is "Hawkeye." They would have needed to hire some writers to ingeniously work that in, obviously.

Sorry to be a deadbeat, but if their intentions are to make these series for the fans, then they are going to have to bring them up to the standards of the movies. I had some expectations for this series and as you may guess I am disappointed. This whole thing could have been better than this.

Okay we have viewed 4 episodes. Still the series is revolving around the girl as the main character. And Hawkeye seems to be the guest star? The plot of the story is not progressing as would be expected, and now we have a subplot interjected. The first two episodes took too long to lay the foundation, which should have been merged as the first episode. We are trying, and wanting, to like this series. But........................hmmmm, there are two episodes left.

It is lacking something.  :-X

Yes I have noticed a difference in HDMI cables. I thought I needed a new Blu Ray Player and have discovered that it was the HDMI cable. I was having audio dropouts. It would be the volume I needed, then it would drop very low. It would some time produce white specks in the video. I am not sure of the brand name of the cables I have. A lot of my cables have been cheap cables, but in light of some of the recent troubles I have been thinking of spending some money. I just don't know what brand would be best.
And I did not know that there was different types of HDMI. I have an older LED flatscreen, four years old, at least.

My Daughter and I have been eagerly waiting for this series. We have watched both episodes and have a lot of questions. We will not judge until we see more as the series is released. Presently we are puzzled as to why the series is focused on the girl and Hawkeye feeling more like a guest star.  :-\

Tomorrow I will be taste tester and helper while in between playing Bomberman 64. It is the Japan arcade edition that never came to the states. I think it was Japan only for the Nintendo 64. It is my favorite version of the game for the N64 because it looks graphically like the traditional game. Tomorrow I will have my Japanese N64 fired up.

I watched this yesterday. I thought it was a good movie. To me, and this may be just me, I guess, it really came across and felt like a Chinese kung fu movie.  :o I don't mean that in a bad way because I like a good kung fu movie. Not being familiar with the character, I just didn't expect it from the MCU hero movie thing.
There were two post credit scenes, not sure where they are going with that, found it interesting.  :-\

The only game related figures that I got into was the Skylanders figures. I thought that concept was awesome. Too bad it did not go any farther than the Skylander games themselves.
Other figures that I have are 12" Batman, Superman, Flash Gordon, Hulk, Thing. Not sure about the size of the Hulk, maybe 15"? I just got through assembling a Dirty Harry. I tried to assemble a Thor and a Captain America, but I am not too pleased with them. I also have a Black Widow. I guess I go more for the comic book characters.

My blu-ray player is acting up. The thought went through my mind that I could use my PS3, but that thought was quickly thrown out. I have never used any of my game systems to watch movies. Never used one as a DVD or blu-ray player. I have always felt that they were too sacred. They are gaming systems. To me it is an abomination to use them for anything else.

Has anyone ever used their game system to watch movies or as a DVD player, blu-ray player?

I have a hard time with the computer generated graphics, animation. There is just something about it that annoys me. It just seems cheap and too artificial. I don't understand why they chose this route.

Just watched this movie last night. I felt it was a very good movie and was wondering why they did not make more. And my thoughts were, they made Captain America, Ironman, Spiderman, etc, why not a series of Black Widow movies. Glad we got this one.

It looks like my iphone SE (1st gen) will be supported with iOS 15. At this point I don't know what that really means. Will it be a nightmare to my old phone? I am surprised be it being included. I thought iso 14 would be the last. I really like this little phone and hope the iOS 15 will not overload the processor creating problems and sluggishness.

@CreepinDeth is there a difference that you are noticing between using Windows and linux for gaming?
#257
Zorin is a solid OS. My Daughter still uses it. I had to look up POP. I have not heard of it. But of course I have been out of the Linux scene for a while. Looks good.
#258
I have used linux since 1999. Those were the days of exploration, piddling, fiddling, adjusting, learning, and tinkering. There were many that I tried out, Libernet, Debian, Red Hat, Puppy, and I am sure there were more, before I settled on SuSe Linux, used that one for years until they were bought out. From there it was Debian for a while, before I latched onto Mint. From Mint I ran across Zorin, which is an excellent choice. I used that one to help my Daughter move successfully from Windows. Because I usually take pleasure in resurrecting some archaic hardware, I am presently using Bodhi Linux on a desktop because it is very minimalistic in its needs and is smooth, fast, and easy to use. Presently I look for something that recognizes my hardware, easy setup, user friendly GUI, and I can work on it, or just do daily stuff, documentation, net surfing, photo editing, etc. The last year or so I have been using MacBook and Mac Mini as my main rig. And because I am now retired, I have switched on my Bodhi rig. Present day, I just want to use my computer.

In those early days it was an accomplishment just to be able to print, connect to the net, or just to have all of your hardware recognized. And that is where I had a lot of fun, even learning to use some command lines. I use to purchase Linux magazines from the store shelf, and it would always include a CD in the middle with a new version of a distro, or some obscure release to play with. Linux has come a long way.

Maybe the pandemic indirectly could be a cause. As for my state there really is no pandemic here. Things are normal for most people, that want it to be. But what has had an effect through this past year is the convenience of watching things from your home has changed our culture, somewhat. I would vote for the option of watching from the comfort of my home vs watching in a local sticky dirty floor theater. Low paid workers just sweep the popcorn aside for the next crowd. It is wise to use your cell as a light to judge whether you want to set there, or not. For the last fifteen years we have started waiting for the DVD. But now we can see the movie on the release date from my den or living room. Wow! Such an option has an impact. Not sure of the financial condition of the average family at this point in the lock downs and work stoppage, but that can be an issue, don't know.
(My town here has a lot of factories with two industrial parks that contain them. So that has a big impact on our local economy. The local factories are struggling with a shortage of workers, but plenty of jobs. The factory I just retired from a week ago usually has around 850 workers. But they are running short of 150 on the average right now. In a small town like this, that is where the big high paying jobs are.)
But getting back to Black Widow, streaming is likely the option most people are taking. The theater issue would depend on how the local community are still handling the current situation, whether they are still in a pandemic or if they are not in a pandemic. That impacts the crowds whether they are fearful or not. Locally restaurants are packed as if nothing has happened.

@BLUEVOODU there are two seasons of Agent Carter on Disney +

The timeline did change. Cap went back and married her.

@BLUEVOODU there is so much hidden in the Loki series that you do not pick up on the first time watching. You almost see things the second and third time around that causes you to think. They are saying that The Doctor Strange 2 movie we will see a team up of Loki, Wanda, Strange, and Spiderman. Nightmare is still the one that is suspected as being the bad guy with it being the scariest MCU movie to date.
#263
We are thinking that everything really happened. Second season is going to be good.

Spoiler: ShowHide
We are thinking that everything is in a time loop. This was what he was showing them and Kang wants it to stop. That is why he offered the rule to them. Loki seems to be thrown back to a time before the wars? Somehow we feel that Loki is the key to change. He was thrown back so that he can witness first hand the events, to gain knowledge. When they were before Kang, he was at a point where time had stopped. Everything that he did brought time to that point. Don't know how long he had been there, he was a bit loopy. And Mis Minutes is what nightmares are made of.

Personally, I have never used Steam. I do like the concept. And I like the idea that someone can feel comfortable about marketing a product like this. Brings back memories of the days of early Gameboy, Neo Pocket, etc. Gives gamers options rather than Nintendo dominating. I don't think of phones as a gaming option and that might be because of my age.
But this will be interesting to watch just to see where this goes.
#265
My Daughter and I are still processing and discussing the final episode. Good way to launch the next mess to clean up, Doctor Strange, Wanda?
#266
Did this ever happen?   :o
#267
I am excited about seeing it, but.............it probably will not be in a theatre. DVD or digital is what I looking for.
#268
@BLUEVOODU I keep hearing rumors of a 2nd season. Have you heard anything that verifies?
#269
@BLUEVOODU I know, it really is. I can't help wanting longer episodes.
#270
I am not believing all that I am seeing in the 3rd episode. Mainly because Loki has his magic back.  :)
