Lol. 11.6 seconds. When I think fastest possible is 33-34 and seconds. Maybe not even that fast.

Maybe it is a glitch in the feed?  Whatever it is... I cannot beat the time lol. Unless I find the glitch.

Did your friend say anything about it?  I would be curious on what happened.
#2582
Nice!  I haven't had a ton of time to play lately.  I'm going to challenge those road rules soon.

Speaking of that... it socks you got 11.6 seconds on the one road.  Forget the name right now.  There's no way to challenge it lol.... Unless I can find the glitch you found.

To be fair, on the original version, I found a glitch on accident on one of the mountain roads. Could never replicate it .. But not saying the road name right now.  ;D

To help members get acquainted with the board, I am building this FAQ.  It will be built over time - pardon the mess.

A:   Feel Free to Post in ANY topic... at any time.  Try to do a search before hand, but don't hesitate to create topics.

Q:  What is the etiquette like on these forums?
A:   Be respectful to others and their posts. However, it is pretty relaxed.  Please refrain from tons of cussing - keep it about PG13.

If this new section means fewer new topics every time you decide to change a color or a button, I support it!
1st... I spent about 8 hours getting everything squared away for everyone to be able to use.

2nd - this isn't a color or a button.

I will, however, continue to post topics to see everyone likes the way we are headed.   Frequency of posts can be adjusted.

well... then.... I cannot pass this up for Free.  Thank you for the information!

That's an idea... I need to post up the free games during x period of time for Xbox and PlayStation.  I Don't think Nintendo is giving anything away for free yet lol.

You pretty much sign your life away when you accept their terms of use. lol... I'm sure they have some thing like:
"In due course of end user's viewing of the site, we may deem necessary a payment of 1 kidney and eye... payable to the nearest chat bot to continue uninterrupted site usage."
#2587
That is pretty sad....

I still remember when they had the Virtual Boy on display. LOL... and Turbo Grafx 16.

I was able to get my Nintendo 64 copy of Wave Race a week early from them.   I heard a rumor they received their shipment... so I called and said... "hey, I received a call my pre-order was in.  I wanted to be sure before I came and picked it up."   I went over and got it... LOL... gloated to my buddy - "Guess what I got."  He tried and was denied  ;D

Man... that was before R Zone as well.  You had to pick up your game at a caged in area.  All they had out were Plastic Slip covers with a picture of the game cover on it.  If I remember right... you had to take a slip of paper to the caged in area to pick up your game.

The IGN review of this game looks pretty cool:

I wish this was on other systems as well.

News / Leaks / Rumors / Facebook Data Breach
March 19, 2018, 09:47:39 PM
Do people really think their constantly mined data is safe?   This is partly why I hesitate to offer "Login with FaceBook."

One article from CNN - though I'm not a CNN fan.. I still listen to all news sources:
Is your data safe on Facebook? Not really - Money.Cnn.com

Also:

Facebook stock tanks after data breach report, shaving billions off company's market value - TheVerge.com

It's amazing at how much is lost over this... and rightfully so.   I know Facebook makes it's money off data mining, but no one ever seems to question what's being mined and used ... why AND by who.  And what they're doing to filter only certain news stories to you and keeping others away.  I know some of that is smart advertising but some of it can be misleading and paint a narrative they want to paint.   Who doesn't do this anymore though?

We are now Several Breaches down over the last couple years - also marking the Equifax.com breach last year.  That one was HUGE...

What do you think?  Post up your thoughts!

LOL... here is a blast from the past.  I accidentally stumbled over it today.

<a href="http://money.cnn.com/2001/05/21/companies/gamecube/>Gamecube to sell for $199 - Nintendo undercuts Sony and Microsoft in console wars  - CNN.com</a>

This was back when CNN was a little better... also before September where life and the world we knew it changed drastically.  Ah... the good old console wars.  I miss those days at times.

Quoting from the Article:
QuoteUnlike the Xbox and the PlayStation2, the GameCube does not offer a DVD player. Nintendo says this was a deliberate move, meant to focus the machine on nothing but gaming.

I remember when that was such a controversy.  Personally.. I didn't care because I had 4 other DVD players at the time.  BUT for others, I get why they would want it - to consolidate.

What do you remember?   What are your thoughts?  Post it up!

lol... I'm not sure which I'd rather have.  The console does drain power faster than the Joy Cons for sure... it's noticeable.

What I really like is that we can take 2 pairs of Joy Cons and can play 4 players for some games.  THEN AGAIN... they are $80... so they cost $40 per side.  That's pretty hefty in my opinion.   But it is cool we can play 4 player with them... works especially well for Super Bomberman R (topic)

By Hefty... I mean - the N64 controller MSRP was $29.99.  The Gamecube controller and Wavebird were not that expensive.   The wiimotes and nunchuck attachment together were $70-75 MSRP... I believe it was.  That's my only gripe right now.. $80 MSRP for a pair of Joy Cons.   Right now though... I've been seeing the black pair of Joy Cons on Amazon for $66.90-70.50.   The Red/Blue pair of Joy Cons... around $67.56.   Those are better prices.  I picked up an extra pair at that cost... I couldn't bring myself to buy them at $80 lol.

What monitors are you looking into at this point?  Monitors have progressed in the last couple years.  What features, styles, and resolutions / glass are you looking at for purchase?

At some point... I would like to upgrade mine.  I'm not totally sold on the curved monitors... or the ultra wide monitors... though some are a bit more tempting these days as the format is more acceptable on computers and gaming consoles.  IE native formats without having to run software to fix resolution issues with software.

I'm looking at the following:
SAMSUNG C32HG70 Dark Blue Gray 31.5" 1ms (GTG) 2560 x 1440 (2K) 144Hz, VA LCD/LED FreeSync 2 Curved Monitor, VESA Mountable, Height/Tilt/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable - newegg.com

Samsung UH750 28" Screen LED-Lit Monitor (LU28H750UQNXZA)  - Amazon.com

Post it up!

I've looked into the Lian Li cases before.  They have really nice designs - improved a lot over the years.

I like the following:
LIAN LI PC-O11WX Black Inside Steel, Outside Aluminum, Tempered Glass Side & Front ATX Mid Tower Computer Case  - newegg.com

Diggin this case as well:
LIAN LI ALPHA 550X Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - newegg.com

I might try one of these on my next build.  Still waiting awhile before my next build - current pc still has life.

General Discussion / Re: PDA's are Back - Best Buy
March 19, 2018, 11:21:02 AM
Exactly.

Tablets are way too big, thin, easy to drop / don't fit the hand well for most applications.  I'm surprised it took this long for the style of device to resurge.  Seeing it was a huge blast from the past.  The screen looked very nice... design of the device was slick.  It was not super thin - didn't appear to be of "rugged" style... but probably thick enough to hold the small 2D scanner (don't think Best Buy uses 3D labels).

This should've advanced enough tech wise to be able to handle major applications.    Add wireless keyboard and mouse features... AND wireless monitor support... and make this into a portable gaming rig LOL..

This is the exact one I believe:
TC51/TC56 Touch Computer Series  - Zebra.com

I forgot Zebra bought out Symbol

Some say that it has better reflective capabilities. I am not sure. But the way the unit fits in your hands makes all the difference to me.

That is very important.    My hands have started to go a little numb holding certain handhelds after awhile.  I had to learn to hold them different. I have fairly large meat claws, so that might be it as well lol.

You cannot detect much of a difference on the "reflective capabilities?"
#2598
lol green ray.

I'm going by my statement that all consoles will eventually be "portable" ... like the switch.  I'm not sure they will but I Still think that's the way of the future.  For the most part, "non-moving parts" is more stable and cheaper than moving parts.  The main issue as we get smaller - heat.  A lot of progress has been made in this area. But even my switch heats up well.

I REALLY like what amazon prime does with their CDs... you get the downloadable music AND a hard copy.   That's a pretty stellar feature - and I hope it never ends.

Have any of you see Star Wars Theory on Youtube?

After I posted a video in Targetrasp's Star Wars post... I ran across this and thought it was rather interesting and convincing:

Check this out... and post up your thought.

This is the Burnout Paradise Remastered   progress thread for the PlayStation 4.  What is your progress? What is happening in your game and anything else you would like to share.

On Launch day... I completed 41% of the main game achievements... lol.

Maybe we can get a get a few of us to connect online and acquire some of the online achievements.

I just ate the rest of my left over movie theatre popcorn from watching black panther lol...

you know I find it interesting though... as much of a game changer as it would've been... today we are still going back to the way of the cart.  Maybe that's partly introduced by cheaper and cheaper flash media and super fast bus transfer speeds.  Eventually a spinning disc cannot keep up with non-moving parts.

We are somewhat at the tipping point of going back. But we will see... I doubt we'll enter the cart era again.  I see the future being Either something new OR something like a 3DS, switch  and Vita cart... or something like it in a small form factor system.

going back through the two mega man legacy collections available for nearly 10 each is a much better call
I'll take a look for them.  The 2nd was still $20... I Thought the 1st was as well... and Couldn't find a decent deal on them.  They are on watch now - and will try to find them cheaper.
#2604
Heck... I Wasn't aware they did the Football manager games.

The last few Sonic Games were pretty good.  I really liked Sonic Generations.  As much as I wish there was.. I'm not sure we will ever see another entrance into the video game realm.  Companies are too afraid (unlike years of past) to innovate and play / try.  They are punished for those failures... and are now sticking to their cookie cutter formulas.

I don't think the shopping trend will change ... though it should in some ways.  What I've been noticing here... micro communities within a city will have a small block of small business stores.  Some do online business and some don't.   They've been chipping away at the big retailers - almost a reversal from what Walmart was doing.  In some ways, they are a big part of the future... but most are coffee shops with art stores/ galleries, Organic groceries, geek topic molded chocolate...etc.  This is not something that would work well for mass produced toys... but for works well for custom artist's toys.

The church we attend puts on a free event for anyone and everyone.  Beer tents are setup outside (good Lutheran beverages LOL)... And for a few hours during the day, the police close off the street and there is a huge block party.  It's quite awesome.   They have local music talents... anyone from highschool to local performing artists.  Some of them are EXTREMELY good.  But the point is... anyone and everyone are welcome to come and have fun.

We purposely shop at and spend money locally AND online.   When I closed down my shop... I cannot tell you the number of people that told me how much I (and the store) was going to be missed.   But at the same time...  some purchased and it help, others didn't... but we discussed many things.

Bottom line.. if you want to see something stay around... make sure to do business with them.

General Discussion / Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi
March 18, 2018, 11:23:07 PM
The biggest disappointment is J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson didn't collaborate.  At least that's the word on the street.

I thought both did an ok job... but word on the street is Mark Hamill had no idea he was going to be killed off.  When he reacts to the script in the below video... I cannot help but feel a bit sad for him.  The dude's reaction is pure crushed.

This video is a little cheese.. but done alright. His initial reaction is at the beginning  There are more videos that cover it in depth.

ANother one - at 3:32 ... man he just looks like he's about to rage:

What did The Last Jedi Add?  Curious

That's just it... Sony started BluRay and all of a sudden they believe that people were only buying digital......
I Think this is one area that will not totally go digital.  And I certainly hope it doesn't.

IF it goes digital or not... they still should've provided the proper player.... IF they are going to state they full on support 4K.

i'm so irked they still didn't put a 4k blu ray player in the ps4 pro...

I am as well.  They need to do that to compete with the Xbox One S... if I'm correct, that has the UHD player in it as well.

Not sure what Sony was thinking of this one... they've been the ones to push technology in the last decade.  They certainly dropped the ball a bit on this one.

I love Sid Meier's Pirates.   I know it feels like a basic game now... but it's still fun to play.  I have a couple versions... maybe another topic will be created on this.

Until I saw this post... I've seen nothing on the game. Looking at it now... it looks interesting.  Once you play it... post up your thoughts.

My roommate recently just ordered Rock Band 4 along with the guitars for XBox One. I think since we already have XBL that some of the songs from Rock Band 3 should carry over. They're looking forward to that more than I am but I haven't looked at the song list yet.
Rockband is still a thing?  That and Guitar Hero was the rage for the longest time.

AH!  I completely forgot about Rare Replay... wanted to give it a shot. I heard that was decent... but there were some complaints on it.
