@targetrasp ... still laughing ... $15 bucks little man...

LOL... you kicked the game's butt so hard that you made it crash.

I never did play Bulldog... not super familiar with that game.

@retro junkie   I hear you... there are a couple movies we missed... IE the Mario Movie.  Thankfully we still have a few theaters still open.  It's just been insanely busy the last few months.

#274
I Think it's about time to get back to Agents of Shield... we are still on season 2.

Anyone else catching any shows?
@mastermario @SpartanEvolved @targetrasp @CreepinDeth @retro junkie @trkorecky --> see if we can get recky on this one  ;D

I think most of the issues have subsided... there may be intermittent slowness here and there.  Please let me know if issues persist

@CreepinDeth  Oddly enough... it started working again.  There was an update... but my Steam Deck remained dormant for 3ish months.  Life has been very busy with many events.  I finally turned it on over the weekend, applied the update.  After the update, the same issue happened.  However, for grins... I went into desktop mode to see what it was all about. I brought the system back out of desktop mode... and it just worked.  :happydance:  What in the heck LOL...    Might as well have punched myself in the face.

Back to full Steam (boooo) ahead.

Asus really has a nice lineup for the most part.  Outside the proc differences (which will be very noticeable as you noticed)... the form and fit of Asus is great.    I used to really love IBM laptops and computers... Lenovo also has a great lineup, but Asus has really edged Lenovo out in my personal preference.

That's cool you have a Wacom @retro junkie --> I've always wanted to try one (especially back in the day when I did more with computer graphics). I am also curious how your setup plays out.

I personally have a hard time settling up to Google.  That's just me though...

Cloud Gaming / Re: Google Stadia - Dead

I get that... it really does seem temporary.  All of the streaming services seem temporary.  If a service closed up, would any of the games or movies exist?  Would they be bought out and published somewhere else?  Obviously if Nintendo's switch service ceased, you wouldn't be able to access certain things.  We've seen that with the closing of certain shops in the past.  Your downloads stay... but you cannot buy any more... and I wouldn't doubt in the future they won't be available.

Though... many people don't want the clutter of buying everything.  They want to just play the game, be done, and move on to the next.  Seems this is becoming more and more the mentality.

I played Andro Dunos on the Neo Geo.  I just ran across this on Amazon:

Andro Dunos 2 - Nintendo Switch

Has anyone else looked into this game?  If so, what are your thoughts.  It was never my favorite, but I'm a shmup addict.

Thoughts, comments... post it up!

Just a heads up, the host is having issues with their upstream network provider. You may run into issues using and viewing the site.

Hopefully they'll be mitigated soon.

Dead Man's Draw is not a new title... but I have played it for years now.

It's a simple pirate themed card game that changes based on traits equipped by the computer opponent and yourself.  It has pretty good action sounds and addictive music.   It's not a super complicated card game.  I've enjoyed playing it quite a bit over the years.

Have any of you played Dead Man's Draw?

No one else saw this?

It's crazy to think The original Guardians of the Galaxy was released in 2014... time sure went fast.  I remember watching the original like it was yesterday and we went with the original movie crew (now everyone has moved away). lol... man  time sure goes fast
@Grindspine @mastermario @SpartanEvolved (et all).

I really like the movie.  The Darren part was sort-of weird... it was funny... but it was a bit weird. I agree with what you thought... I sort-of thought the same things.  At the same time, I wasn't sure where they were going with the movie.

There were a few other parts I thought didn't make a lot of sense... but I figured that followed along with the Quantum Realm being an odd place.

Implications are massive for sure....

Yeah... I totally get you on the expense and fixed income.  Totally makes sense and Apple really is expensive.  Almost anything is these days, but especially Apple.  I had a sticker shock upgrading my phone. I'll run it for a few years, but there was a sticker shock for sure.  I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been more of a backlash on Apple to reduce costs... but people still keep paying it.

It's funny you mentioned IBM... I miss the Thinkpad when IBM made it.  Lenovo is alright... definitely owned 2-3 of those devices and they worked well. The Yoga didn't last as long as I hoped.  It was awesome and thin!  The connections on the inside were so thin, you had to be EXTREMELY careful not to break the keyboard ribbons.  I definitely loved the Yoga for the portability and decent power it had back in the Ultrabook days.  Not sure the term Ultrabook is relevant anymore   ;D

Please update as you keep exploring it... I'm curious what your thoughts are as you keep moving along your Chrome Book journey.
#285
@retro junkie - what brought you to the Chrome Book world instead of going back with Apple?

Security is a relative term, but I will go on the record to state that I trust Google products the least... not biased as I used them forever, but kept having several incidents happen over multiple android phones that were not coincidence... especially after locking down the privacy settings.

I ended up going to Apple... which I had previously sworn off.  But they did make their product better, and my alternatives were dwindling.

I have not made it to a Chrome Book yet, but I do see the appeal to many.

Man... Faxanadu ... that brings back so many memories.  Just reading the name brings back pictures of a different time, the box, etc.

Have you been playing it?

Quote from: Grindspine on April 30, 2023, 11:34:42 PMI still haven't even opened Majora's Mask on the 3DSXL. That is another that I really need to go back and play!
@Grindspine  --> lol... I'm in the same boat.  Though... I did play it a lot for the N64 back in the day.  Majora's Mask is a really awesome game.  You should break it out.
#290
@targetrasp man... I need to get this game.  I'm hoping it'll go on sale in the near future.   If I find it on sale, I'll post the sale.  This is one of those games in the past that didn't go on sale... at least from what I remember.

Quote from: retro junkie on May 01, 2023, 08:03:47 AM@BLUEVOODU i have had other financial priorities. And being that it is a difficult game for me to get into it just doesn't take center stage when I have the funds. Other things suddenly draw my interest. But it is on the agenda, some day............

yeah... I hear you. I've made a few of those decisions lately as well.  Though... then I caved on a couple other Shmups that were on sale... lol  ;D

Quote from: Grindspine on April 21, 2023, 09:54:51 PMThe Carmike off Diebold closed? sucky... I liked that theater. I went to the one at Jefferson & the Regal on Washington a lot too though.

Did you ever notice that it is Quantumania?

LOL... did you come up with that @Grindspine ?

and yeah... Carmike closed.  It sucks... but not too shocked.  The movie industry took a bit hit with Covid.  However, many others were able to keep alive.  I feel if they could've survived until this year, they could've caught back up.

btw... there seems to be a lot of people down on Quantumania.  I'm not exactly sure why...
#293
I partook of this one... I'll try to post it some thoughts.

Not sure how many Shmup fans we have here... I'm a huge shmup fan

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3... and wow... what a movie.  It hits the emotions hard, but is also a great showing for Guardians.  It also appears to be the last one.  IMO they left it open for more if they wanted to do it.  I thought the movie was great... really liked it, though there are many scenes that are hard to watch.

Before commenting more... who saw the movie?  what are your thoughts?

Post it up!

Seeing Din Djarin shank fools in the throat was peak star wars for me.  :happydance:

LOL  ;D  it was a sight to behold!

with Grogu getting between fights, I wonder how that'll affect the Mandalorian in the future. Or does  Grogu deem that ok?  others can not fight with each other, but it's ok for the Mandalorian to go and fight or bounty hunt.
#296
@targetrasp I've balked at buying this one so far.  Did you get it and is it great?
#297
@retro junkie - did you end up getting it on the switch?

@Grindspine @targetrasp I get what both of you are saying.  I wanted to like it as well but had a hard time getting into it.  I really like what I see, but have issues with some of the mechanics and gameplay.

The game is beautiful.  I too like the open world concept.  More time is necessary to put this game through its paces... and get better hands on with it.  I just haven't played it that much.
#298
@Grindspine good review and read!  I bought this game close to launch... and I hate to admit, it's still sealed.  ;D

I think we will open it and give it a shot. I have so many unopened games right now in the back log.

Awesome post and review... time to crack this one open.
