going back through the two mega man legacy collections available for nearly 10 each is a much better call
I'll take a look for them.  The 2nd was still $20... I Thought the 1st was as well... and Couldn't find a decent deal on them.  They are on watch now - and will try to find them cheaper.

Heck... I Wasn't aware they did the Football manager games.

The last few Sonic Games were pretty good.  I really liked Sonic Generations.  As much as I wish there was.. I'm not sure we will ever see another entrance into the video game realm.  Companies are too afraid (unlike years of past) to innovate and play / try.  They are punished for those failures... and are now sticking to their cookie cutter formulas.

I don't think the shopping trend will change ... though it should in some ways.  What I've been noticing here... micro communities within a city will have a small block of small business stores.  Some do online business and some don't.   They've been chipping away at the big retailers - almost a reversal from what Walmart was doing.  In some ways, they are a big part of the future... but most are coffee shops with art stores/ galleries, Organic groceries, geek topic molded chocolate...etc.  This is not something that would work well for mass produced toys... but for works well for custom artist's toys.

The church we attend puts on a free event for anyone and everyone.  Beer tents are setup outside (good Lutheran beverages LOL)... And for a few hours during the day, the police close off the street and there is a huge block party.  It's quite awesome.   They have local music talents... anyone from highschool to local performing artists.  Some of them are EXTREMELY good.  But the point is... anyone and everyone are welcome to come and have fun.

We purposely shop at and spend money locally AND online.   When I closed down my shop... I cannot tell you the number of people that told me how much I (and the store) was going to be missed.   But at the same time...  some purchased and it help, others didn't... but we discussed many things.

Bottom line.. if you want to see something stay around... make sure to do business with them.

General Discussion / Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi

The biggest disappointment is J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson didn't collaborate.  At least that's the word on the street.

I thought both did an ok job... but word on the street is Mark Hamill had no idea he was going to be killed off.  When he reacts to the script in the below video... I cannot help but feel a bit sad for him.  The dude's reaction is pure crushed.

This video is a little cheese.. but done alright. His initial reaction is at the beginning  There are more videos that cover it in depth.

ANother one - at 3:32 ... man he just looks like he's about to rage:

What did The Last Jedi Add?  Curious

That's just it... Sony started BluRay and all of a sudden they believe that people were only buying digital......
I Think this is one area that will not totally go digital.  And I certainly hope it doesn't.

IF it goes digital or not... they still should've provided the proper player.... IF they are going to state they full on support 4K.

i'm so irked they still didn't put a 4k blu ray player in the ps4 pro...

I am as well.  They need to do that to compete with the Xbox One S... if I'm correct, that has the UHD player in it as well.

Not sure what Sony was thinking of this one... they've been the ones to push technology in the last decade.  They certainly dropped the ball a bit on this one.

I love Sid Meier's Pirates.   I know it feels like a basic game now... but it's still fun to play.  I have a couple versions... maybe another topic will be created on this.

Until I saw this post... I've seen nothing on the game. Looking at it now... it looks interesting.  Once you play it... post up your thoughts.

My roommate recently just ordered Rock Band 4 along with the guitars for XBox One. I think since we already have XBL that some of the songs from Rock Band 3 should carry over. They're looking forward to that more than I am but I haven't looked at the song list yet.
Rockband is still a thing?  That and Guitar Hero was the rage for the longest time.

AH!  I completely forgot about Rare Replay... wanted to give it a shot. I heard that was decent... but there were some complaints on it.

Thank you good sir! Sincerely appreciated.

I'd like to see what you think about the movie - should start a topic on that one lol... I'm a bit torn.

I still can't get used to talking about a sega game on a Nintendo console...

it feels dirty - like the straight A squeaky clean cheerleader dating the barely passing burnout.
LOL... I hear you on that.  Seriously.  It took the LONGEST time ... even though I bought and played Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 and 2 on the Gamecube.   There were other games as well... Crazy Taxi is another one.  I still enjoyed the Gamecube version of that as well.

it has the look of mega man but not the spirit. I bought it, played 10 minutes of it, and was meh.
Ok... so not worth $9.99 and probably just stay away.   OK - Thank you for the heads up.

Well... when PSN was hacked... it was down for a day or two.  I want to pick up a PS4 pro and 4K TV at some point... I've heard good things about the PS4's 4K capabilities.

I definitely am still not a fan of paid online... but have grown accustomed to it.  It's more of a "can't fight it" thing.

General Discussion / Re: Black Panther Movie
March 18, 2018, 02:16:30 PM
FINALLY got to see this movie.   It was pretty good... good music... there were a few parts (mainly at the beginning) that were not as strong.   They could've solidified the beginning better.

However, overall... this was a very good movie!  Only took me a month to see it lol.

I'm hoping this isn't the start of a new trend ... and the closing of many different store brands.

We already have issues with Sears / Kmart.   We lost many HH Gregg's - or all of them.

Some companies that were hurting have benefited - IE Best Buy really benefited.   I guess because of mistakes made at Toys R' Us... there are opportunities for others to fill the void.  But it won't look the same way as Toys R' US did.

I could tell something was wrong for the last few years because when you went into a Toys R Us... the vibe was different, less employees, R Zone (if it was still called that) lacked and didn't have anyone staffed over there.   It is a bit sad... I really liked going there... surfing the Nerf gun and Lego Isles... and then heading over to the Video Game Isles.

Not sure of the overall impact yet... but some one will have to step in and fill the void.

I'm still reading into it... but it definitely does look like bad decisions were made.  33,000 jobs will be terminated... many of which don't make much.   That's pretty crappy - I knew they weren't doing well... but didn't think they were doing bad enough to close completely down.  I was expecting store closures / scale backs.
#2806
And I believe UK... several articles out there... but sharing this one:

- Engadget.com

It is a little surprising they are closing ALL stores.  Looks like risky business practices are in part to blame.  They had great Video Game sales at times.   When the Wii, Ps3, and Xbox 360 were huge... I used to buy during their game sales.  We used to also get Lego's when they had really good Lego sales.  We haven't seen those sales in awhile.

Well.. their misfortune may be your gain.   You may be able to find awesome gaming deals from them as they close.

Done and Done - I will continue to add more!

The process has started.  I have about 15-20 titles ready to go.

Look at one of Master Mario's post lol... that's the deku scrub rank.  I will Continue to do some stuff like that and also flesh out more.  It will take a bit of time.

I'll send an Announcement Topic soon with some of these new features.
#2816
OK.. I added a new category - Comm Link.   There is a news board there now.  I think it would be better (at this time) to separate from general discussion.  I might add an FAQ / Announcements to Comm Link as well.

Go ahead and post up your thoughts for the new section and where it is

I couldn't really tell, but my post count wasn't anything to brag about so i'd be the same thing for months.
LOL... well... some of the earlier titles go faster.    And In this day and age... I'm sure I could come up with a digital ton so the progression keeps happening.

General Discussion / PDA's are Back - Best Buy
March 16, 2018, 06:39:31 PM
PDAs - Personal Data Assistants went out a long time ago.  Palm OS devices (like the M500), Palm Treo - Phone based, HP had some... as well as other devices.   The Black Berry and Palm Treo really merged the 2 devices well and the you can thank them for the smart phones you carry today.

While at Best Buy today, I saw a Symbol PDA.  They are back... and it was a new PDA  Symbol devices are used for Scanning in a manufacturing / inventory setting.   There was a scanner attached... but it was very much a PDA in the old school way.

I think PDAs were WAY WAY ahead of their time and the hard ware just wasn't there to do what they needed them to do.   The scan guns used in manufacturing plants perform 5250 emulation and can do a lot... but they still are used for 1 function... scanning in parts / inventory.  Personally, I think they will eventually come back and the concept of the PDA will return... in the form of super small form factor laptops that are powerful enough to do everything.... with wireless connections to monitors (which already exists), wifi... basically only wired for a charger.   While the old PDA is absorbed into the current version of smart phones... I Think we will continue to see a merging of smart phones and laptops... until the line completely blurs.

This trend has been very apparent over the last 5-8 years... and time will tell if the trend will continue.  Post up your comments / thoughts.

still trying to go pick mine up,

is there a multiplayer experience and is it good?

It's fun - does have some limitation to it.   IE You race... there are some achievements based on Multiplayer... but it doesn't have MAJOR staying power.  If that makes sense.

If you bought the PS4 version, we can join up at some point and achieve.  Just use Discord for voice chat... easier than PS4 chat - if that works for you.  I never bought a Ps4 headset... probably have a compatible one though.

I'm also going to make a PS4 topic (or couple) based on different aspects of the game - to keep the conversation rolling.

I thought that was cool, although I could never figure out if there was a hierarchy to it or if it was just a bunch of randomness

In a way... you create the hierarchy.  At certain points there were more stars... and better more "powerful characters" as your Title.  Sometimes.. they reflected on Video games and certain quotes as opposed to characters.

Thrav threw out a suggestion on discord last night - I Think that's 2 that would like to see the return of them.

I will start to look into doing this again.  keep posting it up the thoughts.
