Decision or not... Just want to make sure everyone has a say - as much as possible and we mold this together.  Even more important than that... we have fun doing this lol.

How about this... from now and indefinitely, we include Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in with the current gen.  There will be no moving of Playstation 3 or 360 to Retro Wii stays as classic / retro.

well... it probably wouldn't be for all Current Gen and future stuff... but it would / could be utilized for Old school Retro games.   But I do agree some ugliness can come with it.  So we can shelve the buy/sell for now and revisit sometime in the future.

So would everyone suggest creating a new category called "The Market" and have 3 boards:
1.) Console / handheld Deals
2.)  PC Hardware and Games Deals
3.)  Movie / Media Deals

Is that what you are thinking?   I'm sort of leaning to merging Movie / Media deals in with Console / handheld ... What media exactly?   Hm... might need to brain storm a bit more on this.  Good suggestions... thinking of how to implement right.

What does everyone else think?

King of Fighters XIV - Playstation 4 - Amazon.com

I'm thinking about buying the King of Fighters XIV... I've been a fan of the series on the Neo Geo (AES and CD).  I bought one 12 (I think) for the PS3... but it made its way into my backlog.

Has anyone played this?  And recommendations on this game? 

Yes it is... I get the bug to build.  I swear it off... do what I can to ward it off... but then I start to sweat and think about it.   It's like the SpongeBob episode where SpongeBob is trying not to need water lol when he's drying up and out of water in Sandy's Tree dome...

We may revisit this topic in the future as cases evolve.

I currently have an Antec 900 and Antec 1200.   I love both cases... they definitely aren't light.  But I will say there have been a TON of improvements in cases since I bought those 7-9 years ago (respectively).

One of the best features of newer cases is the ease of access to the hard drives.   Easily pop one in... and pop one out.  Or just as easily - add a couple more.     My Antec 900 and 1200 have a ton a bays... but the you have 4 thumb screws on each side JUST TO GET THE BAY OUT.  I've reduced this to 2 screws each side placed diagonally.   After you get the bay out, you then have to unscrew the hard drive.  Fan cables run along the bays (due to front side fans)... so you have to work with them as well if you have those fans plugged in.   

While I have been reusing the cases... I wanted to buy into something else.  I have this thing right now for re-using them and probably will because I don't feel like spending $120-150+ on a new good case.

What are you thoughts... post it up!

Yeah, I had an MSi mobo like that a long time ago. And yeah, unless you have a known good to test with, testing a mobo is a real crap shoot.

Exactly... but it's also in part how tech support handles it.

I've been Dell certified before and replaced tons of parts at work - now the new IT guys just have techs come out and work.  Dell's newest gig is to make you send it off.   That's dumb IMO.

Anyway... I can pretty easily tell when there is a MOBO issue.  The tech support guys don't care what you know.  I guess for good reason because I'm sure they handle a lot of hard to handle cases.  I couldn't imagine doing that for the general population... customer service... but for fixing mother boards... barf.

That's one of the two games you've always talked about and I've just never gotten around to pick up...

You seriously need this game if you like Shmups.  Now... I've talked about 5-10 games a lot lol.  but I'm curious... what's the second you're thinking of?

That's not too hard to prove.  I have the SNES setup and out lol.  We played Super Mario World the other day.... and then Yoshi's Island.

I know it sounds ridiculous... but I have a stupid amount of games in Steam.  My account is probably average to many others now... partly because I imposed a game buying ban on myself until more back log is cleared.

Part of the Back Log being cleared is my question to play every Steam game in my list a minimum of 5 minutes.

I have made pretty good progress on this... However, I still have a long way to go.  I cannot believe how hard it is to play every game for 5 minutes.  It almost puts things into perspective:
1.) 1st world problems.
2.) I have too many games - many of them were Steam sale impulse purchases.

Anyone else doing something like this?

I Found if I jump into multiplayer I never play the game.
I mean, i've only ever seen the end of one Halo game. If it wasn't for Xbox 360's achievements I probably wouldn't have even thought about playing the campaign. Call of Duty -- same thing.

That's exactly what happens to me.  I'm trying to work on the single player portions of many games.   Call of duty series... the worst game for my problem.

I used to have 33 and ended up killing many.  I Think I have 13-17 now.   It's amazing at how many of the games became free to play!  I finally just deleted them.   do it, you'll probably feel better!

Yeah... it's small for that icon.  It took a bit to figure it out correctly in PHP.     

The plan is to get all the favicons set.  IE for IOS, Windows 10 Live Tile...and a few others.  This way... if a user sets the site as a favorite on whatever device (on the home screen), the icon will show up.

When the PS5 comes out, the PS4 won't be a decade old. Maybe 6 or 7, so I wouldn't consider it retro until the PS6. Normally, I would agree with the 2+ generation argument, but the jump from SD to HD makes it a good cut off point in my opinion.

Ok. So we are saying Xbox 360 and PS3 stays in current.... wii,ds  falls off to retro. Wii U, 3ds and switch  are current.  Except... 3ds still plays da... 

Are we all on the same page there?  Only gray area would be DS in my opinion. 

Last...  any suggestions on moving posts for the future?  Ie once the 360 and PS3 move into retro land

Yeah I've seen it, but it's hard for me to really separate the topics that are in that list. lol   It all kinda blends together.

Some of the themes we tested didn't translate to mobile well.   At all...   So they were deleted.  At this point, we have the core, curve themes - those are SMF default themes.  The current CDG "default" is Vvide.   I plan to change this up a bit more and customize.  But Vvide really fits the bill.  Manas is still installed... you can check that out.  Doesn't translate as well to mobile.  Probably will dump that theme in the future.

3rd shift is rough... I've had to work all 3 shifts on a few occasions lol...  and that is pretty awful.

I'm also working on our forum logo...etc.  It's going to be centered around the Owl picture shown in the favicon.... but more so around the image on our Steam Page and Discord group (which is the same as the favicon but colors are natural).

These consoles are over a decade old. In technology years, that's a long time. I would consider them retro. Especially since they're the last to support the old 4:3 aspect ratio format.

See... That's exactly where I'm at.   And to Kinikko's point... Nintendo is ahead of the curve on this lol.   I'm leaning to the side they are retro as well.  We are talking 12-13 years ago the systems came out.  See... all points so far make sense and there's my conundrum.


I also struggle with the "we are posting in PlayStation for PS4 right now.  But when PS5 comes out... I will have to move all old PS4 posts to the retro board."  That may not seem like a big deal.. but it can be a pain and Search Engine links can be lost.  Now, I can do redirect topics when they move... but then you have a ton of redirect topics.

It makes more sense to have boards calling out the Specific systems... but for forums these days... that's too narrow topic wise.

Who'd have thought a Guns N Roses song would sell me on a game I'd completely discounted a decade ago...

LOL.. I know... it's such a great way to start the game as well... timeless, classic, might I say.... perfection?   I seriously think they achieved perfection 10/10 on this title.    I know that's a personal opinion... but  10/10.  Hopefully they don't ruin the remaster lol.

If anyone else is getting it for the PS4... I'll join up for multiplayer runs / achievements.
