This whole release has been a mess. Probably won't get one this year.

It's nice to hear people are trolling the scalpers by overbidding on their listings and throwing up bogus listings.

Picked mine up and played Mario 64 first. Not bad. It can look rough here and there since they didn't really improve any textures.

Controls feel okay but need to get used to them. Feels weird to have rumble for Mario 64.

Also, it looks like Amazon has restocked. You can get a copy at the moment of this post.

I remember the first time I ran Crysis about 9 years ago. I had a dual core AMD CPU with a Radeon 6850 that had 1GB of VRAM. Thought to myself "this should run fine now, it's a 4 year old game."

LOL!!

That was the loudest I ever heard any of my PCs get, ever. Ran at an abysmal 10FPS on the lowest settings and barely 720p.

I want to try out the remaster but it's an EGS exclusive and I'm not into that for a lot of reasons, both as a consumer and personal. So I'll like to hear one of you guys play it when it releases and report back.

Mine still says preparing. Crossing fingers it goes through. There needs to be a crossing fingers emoji.  :)

Also, here is the Digital Foundry video detailing all of the improvements.

RTX 3090 all the way!

And I'll probably grab a PS5 eventually for Horizon Forbidden West.

Hah! I was about to say the same, except RTX 3080 for me and PS5 for Spider-Man.

Best Buy is preparing my copy for pickup on Friday. Nice!  ;D

I've also been hearing that some retailers like Gamestop are canceling pre-orders because the physical copies are a lot more limited than anticipated. Hope all of you who pre-ordered get yours.
#307
Looks decent. Can you play it in portrait mode?
#308
I'm really hyped about Mario Kart Circuit. I just wish I had a bigger living room. I feel bad for kids who don't have the space to play this in.
#309
As mentioned on the Discord channel, I preordered, but it's not without its flaws. It would've been nice to have seen just a little more enhancements for Mario 64 and it would've been great if they could have bumped the FPS on Sunshine to 60FPS.

Oh and it's missing Galaxy 2.  ???

But since it's an artificially limited release, I bought it and I'm sure that was Nintendo's plan all along.

But overall, it would be good to jump back into Sunshine again. I owned it at one point and couldn't really get into it, so I want to give it a second chance. Never played the Galaxy games.

I want it and I think I'll get it eventually. I've always wanted to get the past games along with a flight stick but never pulled the trigger. Maybe for Christmas.

That's a lot of money to have sitting around in a checking account. Also, why wasn't the bank suspicious even earlier about the charges? Even if the parents don't check their account on a daily basis, there still should have been some type of alert.

I've had my bank account get triggered for fraud on way smaller amounts.

Even an older 7200 drive is faster than the real world download speeds of that many games at once!

Yes, technically that is true but on Steam your archived games are compressed and the speed at which it uncompresses can be bottlenecked by your CPU. I should have clarified further in my reply.

What We Do In the Shadows is also decent. I recommend watching the movie first. It's directed by Taika Waititi.

If anyone likes sports, the new Michael Jordan Documentary The Last Dance is really great.

If anybody is into adult humor, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is very funny. Especially the first 5 seasons.

Superstore is also a decent comedy along with Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I wasn't a fan of Andy Samberg but I think he found a good role in Jake Peralta.

Community is also a favorite of mine. Starts off a bit basic but turns into an awesome comedy. NBC had some strong shows in the late '00's early '10's.

Russian Doll, The Last Kingdom, Master of None on Netflix are also decent.

Happy Birthday, Grindspine!!

In my experience, installing from an archive is usually faster than redownloading everything. Even on my Core i7 4790 machine, which is now 6 years old. If you have an old hard drive, that might nullify the speed advantage.
#317
Makes sense. Provides so much value than just a couple of free games a month. You now get a decent sized library instantly with your subscription. Feels like this is the Netflix of Video Games coming true finally.

Legend of Korra has been announced for a Netflix release on Aug. 14th. Highly recommended. It does fumble a bit between seasons but recovers nicely. Still very solid.

@BLUEVOODU ~ Thanks BV for asking. Got my test back last night and it came out negative. I'm doing okay. Just really pissed off and disappointed at the same time.

It's seriously time for the US to put on its big boy pants and start coming together to fight this thing. It's not going to go away on its own unless everyone gets infected and I seriously feel that is what the idiots in Washington want. And even that's no guarantee it will.
#320
Remember when some people said this will go away by June?!

HA AHAHAHAHHAHAHAhahahahah.....hah  :-\

How friggin' sad is our country when we can't come together to stop the virus from spreading. Simply by wearing masks and limiting how often we go out.

Had our nation done a hard shutdown from the beginning we would've been out of this mess. But it keeps spreading because there are people out there that only care about themselves. Hope the lives that were needlessly lost were worth it.  :(

Also, just had to take my second Covid test today because a coworker's son tested positive and she sat near me. So I'm at home waiting for my results. Oh and she didn't wear a mask at all. I did though even before she tested positive and I rarely took it off. So hopefully I'm okay. It's a bunch of BS though that this is still going on.

Even though it has cringe-worthy moments and some of the usual anime stereotypes, Hi-Score Girl has won me and my wife over. It still has some funny and real moments that make it enjoyable. I'd recommend it.
#322
Sorry BV, I don't have PS+. I just can't get the motivation to pay for it when online is free on PC.

I'm with Targetrasp. The pandemic has shown how this country really is, and that's selfish. Many countries were able to handle covid much better than us. Rather than the country coming together to fight the disease as best as possible, it gets politically weaponized.

Our Federal government failed us and we shouldn't have been in this position in the first place. What the states had to do was a reaction to that failure. We should've been celebrating alongside New Zealand right about now on not having any covid cases. And yes, I do understand they're an island and that definitely helps, but as the strongest nation in the world we should've been just as good at fighting this virus.

Now with that said, I'm not venturing out anytime soon. I'll always wear a mask in public and try to limit human contact as much as possible. I have my wife anyways and that's all I really need in terms of human contact.

I understand opening up and wanting life to go back to normal but I really feel it's still early. It's Summer and I think late July would've been a better time to do it. Let the people who want to risk themselves for a holiday get it over with and then we could've all probably moved on.

They look awesome. No way I can get anymore right now though. If they were closer to $50 then I might bite on one.

I still bump up against the legality of it all... It'd be awesome just to google a title, download an iso or a rom or a bin, pop it onto a usb and play, instead there's all this copyright law, and debate whether or not I'm allowed to circumvent protection to back up items i own. It's been a while since I've kept paid attention to the emulation scene, so it may be different now.

I get it and unfortunately it's never going to be black and white one way or the other. The way copyright is handled has always been a mess from all countries invovled, so it's cool if that's how you feel.

For me, if a game is out of circulation and I own it, then I have no problem getting the game. Collector's who want lots of money for an actual copy is all well and good but the developers don't see that money anyways and it all goes to the seller. I don't emulate current gen or last gen games since those are still readily available brand new.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago. It's sitting pretty with all of the other minis. I did annoy me that Amazon didn't even bother to package it in a box. They just slapped the shipping label on the box itself and shipped it like that. Oh well, fortunately it was destroyed.

The idea is great but I'm sure it's going to get expensive if you want even just 3 or 4 of those modules. You're already $400 in the hole without any cartridge support.

I know I sound like a broken record again, but I'll just emulate on my PC and buy some nice controllers for each specific console.

Just been playing GTA IV. So my backlog is still the same.  :))

@CreepinDeth
How is everything performing?

Great! I bought a cooler master 212 black CPU cooler and now it doesn't go above 73 degrees at full load. I noticed that in Rise of the Tomb Raider I got much better frame times. It doesn't have microstuttering that I kept getting with my i5 and i7.

Merry Christmas everyone!

They only gaming related thing I received was a $200 gift certificate to a new, local retro game store from my wife. I'm super stoked!
