Lol... yeah... honestly, I'm surprised more older phones or styles aren't used.   Well... outside the "certain bands no longer work."   New phones used to be cool in a way... now they are all pretty boring and stale.  Yeah.. I get it... they are more powerful and can do a lot more.    But ... I miss the design element that used to be there.


And they certainly missed the mark by not making it Spring loaded!

Lol... it's kind of a cool thing, might attract some buyers but are they onto something here? 

Cell phones - while more powerful... have lost the element of design.  Many things have ( not just cell phones).  Everything is just a slab, glass, and pretty boring rounded designs.   Many years back, companies were trying all sorts of new designs. But now they found their cookie cutter money making designs and don't stray far from them.

So far... Facebook... maybe discord.   Do you know if you can get to an Xbox LIve page easily?  IE something you can put in your profile.  I guess what we can do is if this doesn't pan out, we can just put a text box and let the member put a User name and what not and leave it at that.

Yeah, a lot of these games don't hold up well but they were technological marvels at the time. That's what makes this series so fascinating. My favorite is the episode.

I'm a little surprised they haven't come back and revisited or at least remastered Panzer Dragoon.    Or maybe they did and I missed it. 

It was very cool seeing Star Fox again.  I haven't played that game in forever... but the Snes version was always a master piece in my Mind.

Candy crush is stupid addictive at times.  But it's also annoying now because you have to bypass 10 pages of events an ads to finally get to the puzzle.    If you beat this level in 1 try you get a helmet with the uber bomb.  I then get a crazy horse popping up telling me how he needs the stars I collected and if I don't pay to continue, how sad the horse is going to be if he doesn't get the stars lol

I actually have minecraft on my iPhone.    I made a chicken level. More to come on that later.

They were Duracell - and I completely forgot about the clear Neo Geo Pocket Color.  There were a few different colors.  I ended up receiving several versions of  the NGPC when I received the games.

LOL... homage to Space Harrier... I really dug that game a lot.  It's amazing to see Panzer Dragoon today... I haven't seen or played it in forever.  Didn't really age as well... but still looks fun.  Wish I could play that again.

Great homage to SNES Starfox - I loved playing that game on the Super Nintendo back in the day.

I still have mine. Picked it up on ebay with the AC adapter. There's no way in hell I was going to be changing batteries out of that thing. Mostly to play in bed anyways.

Great post, Retro - I love my old GBA SP.    Goldensun, Lord of the Rings, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, many more.... and my personal favorite - Advance Wars.   I gamed a lot on this.   Such an impressive device with battery as well.  Why?  I broke this system out.. it hasn't been charged in a minimum of 6-7 years.   I was still able to play it.

What do you mean bright screen? You mean backlit?


Gunstar heroes... I never tried this game.  I would like to try it.


Alien Hominid - ah man.... completely forgot about this game!   I Think I bought the Gamecube version, but I would need to verify to be sure.

  yeah... there's really no regrets in it.   I bought it at full price with birthday money way back in the day.   Red Alarm is a pretty cool game... I bought that and I Think Mario Tennis came with it.   Pretty good games they were. 

I mentioned this a long time ago.. but when I was playing at night... the red would give me greenish vision after taking the Virtual Boy away from my face.  In some cases, it really looked a little like night vision.  My guess is that this came from exposure to the color red.... but It definitely was interesting.

Kinikko -- that is a pretty cool 3DS.  I dig the Monster Hunter 4 3DS as well.. there are cool versions out there.

I bought the smaller 3DS with Ocarina - styled for Zelda Ocarina... it's a pretty console.  I let the pretty console site and bought a standard blue one for playing.

The 2DS is pretty cool as well (without the 3D)... especially for those who cannot play the 3D version.   We end up playing Animal Crossing Wild World DS, Mario Kart DS, and Animal Crossing New Leaf 3DS... and a couple other games.   We have a blast with the system.  @Target.. that sucks you had that bad of experiences... worst = barfed on lol.

I agree - I like having the option of 3DS... but I never use it.  The systems with 3D just seem better built than the 3DS.  But you do save $50 buying a 2DS.  I Think it was $50...  but the screen hinges just seem more loose with 2DS.

The only burnout I ever played was Burnout Revenge and that's only cause my cousin loved the multiplayer crash mode.  Does Paradise have something like that?  Or is it a feature in all Burnout games?

There was a crash mode called Showtime.  This allowed you to flip your car and then boost while flipping to hit all the vehicles and signs.   Busses added multipliers.  As long as you hit stuff, your boost refills.

Alright... it's a pretty fun game... we have a lot of fun building creations in MineCraft.

But I noticed we have a crazy number of installations of Pocket and Console editions.  I actually do not have this on PC yet.

Post it up!  How many installations of Pocket, Console, and / or PC version of Minecraft do you have?

It is best to just keep everything simple then and not rock the boat. It is a total giant headache when something gets whacked.

Yeah - It really was a pain modifying everything.  It was awesome while doing it... tons of cool features... but when it comes time to upgrade, you generally have to upgrade and then re-install all mods.   Sometimes it works seamlessly... other times it doesn't.  There are definitely a few additional mods I'd like to add.

Is it possible to embed youtube videos? I know you can link to them but some forums allow you to actually watch the video in the thread. Not a big deal but a feature I think is really cool.

speaking of mods... There is a mod I'm looking into right now.  It would be the 2nd mod installed on this forum if installed... but it allows embedding like this.

do you see embedding super useful?  This mod would make embedding possible for a TON of different services.

Unbeatable because we could never get them to work after awhile due to "network issues."

Anything Command and Conquer Generals and After .... Post EA buy out.   Spartan, MasterMario, and I would always try to skirmish against AI. No matter what we did... we ran into a network issue at some point during the match.   Quite frustrating.  We wanted to play Command and Conquer pretty bad but were hamstrung by EA's crappy net code.  It was SO BAD... that the crappy net code followed later games such and Command and Conquer 3... which would give us the exact same error.

Yeah. I worked in IT in an automotive factory.   And still hear a lot.  It doesn't bother me.  In many cases it sounds dumb but your point on sometimes it just conveys the message - yes lol. I still listen to metal lol.  I like the hitman's body guard and tons of different movies.

I guess the other way to put it is this:

Personally, I want a cool place to go that people are friendly and are respectful.  I get not everyone gets along all the time, but agree to disagree... and a place I can post and do stuff at work on lunch or whatever without worrying who's looking or what the filters are tracking.  That's the selfish part there.  But a place I like to share with anyone that would like to join and participate. And a place that people love to go to and enjoy.  Build memories. 

Idk. Maybe that's a pipe dream.

There is a karma feature on the board for users.  I haven't turned this on.

2.1 is in beta right now and this version offers more of these features.  It's just not ready for a 'production/live' run though.

It also has the @ tagging like Mario mentioned.

There are some mods ... but if you remember how modded the board was before we had a few issues where I had to up upgrade and then lose features, I'm trying to keep things as stock as possible to avoid this in the future. But we can look into them at some point of 2.1 is a long way off.
