I might be available Sunday evening EST (9pmish) this coming Sunday and play for 2 hours.  My schedule has been ridiculous because of work.  Hopefully when that chills out, I will be able to have a better schedule for gaming.

Outside the obvious - we need more activity and members, what are your thoughts?  Likes/dislikes? 

Is everything performing well so far?  Ie fast, responsive ... etc?

I will continue to make topics like this every once in awhile until the board is fully running.   I'm also testing the announce feature with the post.

The posts and topics will become more as we gain more members and more older members return. If you see something at other places you would like here (categories, topics, boards)... post it up as a suggestion.  Don't see topics you want?  Create them and help bring more conversations to the board.  We definitely could use help in this area... and replying to topics.

Bottom line, I'm open to all suggestions on the forums.  This is a fun "project" and I hope it is fun for you all as well.

Has anyone tried DariusBurst Chronicle Saviours on PC  Steam? 

This game has peaked my interest... I love a good shmup!     If you have tried it... How good is it?   It currently has a pretty hefty price tag at $50 on steam... I probably will wait for a sale at this point.  Definitely interested in the game though.

Gears of War 3 was awesome... the work crew played this game together.   Horde mode was awesome... I played this all the time with my buddy in Chicago and his cousins. 

The only problem I had with it.. which was an Xbox live issue in itself... were the players that would send voice messages because they couldn't take being destroyed OR would tell you to quit after destroying lol.

So many good memories with Gears of War 3.

The streaming was from the PS4 with camera... but then you would just watch with the Vita on Playstation Live?

LOL @ hospital hallway.      Yeah... I have a Noctua NH-D14... I didn't realize how massive it was.   I really haven't had a reason to go to liquid cooled either.  I do a little overclocking but not a ton.  With fan based cooling... I've had 0 heat issues.   I also use a nice power supply... noticed this reduced a lot of heat keeping the PSU load down and platinum rated.  A lot less energy wasted coming off as heat.

Noctua is definitely cool...  They make a great product.

I'm still on my "not building another PC kick" ... until I've used the life of my current pc a bit more.  Trying to get 1-2 years more life from it until Rebuild.  I was building PC's at least once per year until the last build.

That is very true... and there's nothing worse than having a bad motherboard and having to prove it.  It may be easier and more fun to have your fingernails pulled out with pliers ... than to troubleshoot and prove you have a bad motherboard.

Very interesting people have accomplished this... especially the Lithium Ion batteries.

There is one series that makes me want to buy an Xbox one / system outside of Halo.  Gears of War.  I love this series.


I started looking into buying it for Windows 10.  The issue I had with it is you still had to have an Xbox Live membership to play online.

I pulled the batteries out of my Nintendo Virtual Boy today... thankfully they didn't corrode.  I couldn't believe when I checked the date on the batteries... 2003.  So they had to have been mid 90's  batteries. LOL... they were the old Duracell batteries that had the battery tester on them.  You would hold both ends of the tester and it would tell you how much battery life was left.  I think they brought the idea back later to Duracell.  But I haven't see it as of late.

I think I remember you telling me this a long time ago. lol... That struck a memory.   That's a pretty good idea for long drives.   On CD eh... I should look into that for certain trips.

It was pretty cool when the Hobbit movies explored Dol Guldur briefly when Galadriel and Elrond returned to kick Sauron's butt out.

I think I'm going to purchase the <a href="http://www.tolkienlibrary.com/booksbytolkien/silmarillion/description.htm> The Silmarillion at the tolkienlibrary.com</a>.   They have a pretty cool hard bound book.. from many years ago.   Looking into that one.

I bought a nice hard bound book of the Hobbit - The Hobbit on Amazon.   This is the actual book... bought it for a great price about 6-7 years ago...   I guess it was made / published in 1987 if I am correct.   Definitely a very cool book.   

It's been a good 8-10 years since I've played it... This time has been a blur.  Adulting sure has taken over a gaming during this time    Thankfully the batteries didn't corrode!   

What was the 1st game I played?  Pac Man LOL      I am now loading up Biomotor Unitron... and there I still have a couple backlog games on this system.  Say WUT?!   The plan is to beat Faselei - I have the English version from a stash I found when I had the gaming business.    I also need to beat Samurai Shodown 2 on the NGPC.

I don't feel like I've missed anything by sticking with ps4 this console cycle, especially since sony's online service seems to have finally caught up to Microsoft's. Console specific games don't seem to be as commonplace as in generations past so its hard to make an argument for having to own both consoles. The controllers even feel very similar.

yeah... I understand that.. I've missed a lot over the last 4 years.  I've learned just to clear out backlog. maybe I'll make it to some of the games later on in the future.  I'm still clearing Game Boy Advance, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Gamecube and other backlog. lol.

I have an Xbox One, I just don't think I've played it more than like twice since I got it.  Adulting and gaming at the same time is hard.    I've moved once a year for the past 3 years so everything is still in like a bad spot for me. 

Moving that much really does suck!  LOL... adulting... it really does take a bite out of life.  You will hear me at work say "I don't want to adult anymore."   At time... "I'm not adulting anymore." 

That's the same problem I had with my Xbox 360... I just didn't play it that much.  I had it mostly for when friends came over and we would play Halo.

I ALMOST bought the Xbox One for the Halo Anniversary collection... Then I heard how many problems there were.   SOOOO tempted to buy that one.

Those are very good points.    I think I was most shocked at $20 being the cost of fast food for 2 these days.   Weird to read that... but true.

LOL... no kidding... this really shouldn't be hard at this point in time.

I will keep researching to see if I can come up with something consistent.  If not, Skype and Bnet will be put on hold for a short time... I MIGHT be able just to enable a BNET field with User profile and #.. as opposed to a link to a User Profile.

I must say... the rabbit holes of Lord of the Rings (essentially the whole Tolkien Universe) are pretty crazy.  You can get lost in this stuff for awhile.

I never really understood Dol Gudur during any of the movies.   I guess this must be a "you need to re-read the books along with all the side stories."

$29 for Panzer Dragoon Saga?!  ah man... I know hindsight is 20/20 lol... but that's crazy to think!   I had a copy when I had the store... don't remember what I sold it for.  If you look on Amazon... you see a ridiculous range of prices.    Panzer Dragoon Saga - Sega Saturn - Amazon.com

Although... I would personally say you made out pretty well with the Neo Geo Pocket Color.  That was a pretty cool handheld.  Crap... just remembered... I need to make sure all the batteries are out of that console as well.  My luck... they already corroded.  There will be a Neo Geo Pocket Color topic... yes.... there will be.

Back to the topic at hand... I also have Tempest 2000 and Megaman X4 on the Sega Saturn.  Both pretty good games.  Though, I do like the Atari Jaguar version of Tempest 2000 better.

Personally... I favor ASUS motherboards.   Even though I had problems with one in particular.  I'm sure I'll post that story somewhere around here at some point.  Super Frustrating.

MSI has pretty good mother boards as well.

What brand of mother board to you tend to favor?   Why do you favor those brands?

I killed the profile... but already getting a spam bot.  I researched it... the didn't log in but they registered and activated.   158 Reports against that user profile...  wordpress, invision, and many other styles of systems.  So it's not just Simplemachines.

Another thought on these... if you liked something from EGA - or had some topics from EGA you'd like to start here... that's ok.  I'm just saying this is not a new EGA.  This a different idea and direction.

Please keep coming with the thoughts on boards / layouts / sections you would like to see.
