I've not touched it yet. I've only had small bits of time here and there so I've only played a little SNES online.

I love that meme

i'm about to call in sick to work!

Super puyo puyo 2, Super Soccer, Super Tennis, The Legend of Zelda a link to the Past, Super Metroid, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Supe Ghouls N Ghosts, Earth Defense Force, Stunt Race FX, StarFox, Pilotwings, Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby's Dream Course, Joe and Mac 2, Brawl Brothers, Breath of Fire, Demon's Crest, and F-Zero are up and ready to play today.

I can't imagine the sports titles aging well but I can put some serious time into Zelda, breath of fire, and super Mario world. Super Metroid and Mario Kart are masterpieces and Super Ghouls N Ghosts will take some practice if I ever want to beat it again. I'm excited to try out Joe and Mac 2 and Demon's Crest as I don't remember playing them and EDF is a vague memory. Most look like they'll be some fun.

it is. The American ones released with different numbers than the Japaneese ones, then American ones would release on different systems with the japaneese number scheme. This went on for a little while.

Final Fantasy 3 as I was talking about is Final fantasy 4 in Japan. it was the 4th game in the series released in japan and the third released in north America.

Final fantasy 7 is the 7th final fantasy game in both north American and japan (they got their act strait somewhere after 3 but before 7)

3 and 7 are my all time favorites in the series. I go back and forth on which is tops, but it's always a close call.

FM Towns Marty... there's a retro console dozens will flock to buy!

mine was in the mail box when I got home from work!

I think i'm going to leave it wrapped until this weekend, then binge for a while, it's about time to finish an rpg.

It'll be in our mailbox tomorrow...

I wonder if there's a guide to pick up?

I'm excited for any new Zelda. Bring it on

Bring back Tobes!

I've gotta do something like this... my receiver upscales just fine but the lag makes most things unplayable. I've had to make due with mini consoles or emulation but it doesn't feel right.

Too girly for my tastes...

My daughter love them, but she's on the xbone bandwagon this console generation

Update - So that was a pretty snap judgment, the red camo isn't bad in a Darth Maul kinda way!

ducktales 1-2, chip and dale Rescue rangers 1 -2, tale spin, and darkwing duck.

it scratches that NES era side-scroller itch

not without a game genie was I ever able to beat the first Metroid, well actually any Metroid. I never gave it its due because it tough as nails without practice and patience... an hour is truly commendable.

I picked up the Disney afternoon collection and Aerea during the last playstation store sale pretty cheap... Great games, infuriating at times but fun.

This game had a great soundtrack, especially during the intro to the game. From what I remember the game was pretty tough. It wasn't usually the bullets or lasers that got you, it was trying to squeeze between enemies or parts of the stage. The boss fight always had a trick but were pretty tricky too. Some of the bosses had lasers that would curve or do a hard 90 right at you, others made you squeeze in spots about the size of your ship to shoot their weakness.

That'd be a great game to include

General Discussion / Re: GameStop Going Down?
August 11, 2019, 09:51:02 PM
The hot topic look is GameStop trying to remain relevant. I think the collectibles have helped slow the bleeding but its not been enough. In the last year their stock price has plummeted and they've just recently stopped paying dividends. They also just trimmed a lot of district manager / HR type jobs. I think they've even tried putting themselves up for sale at some point. The company is in some serious trouble.

I have to give GameStop credit for trying to stay a float. They've tried different things to diversify while still serving their niche audience. Comic books, apparel, collectible, board games, etc. I really enjoyed spending points on comic books and getting exclusive editions (which they've since stopped). There was even a higher tier in their loyalty program that really helped rack up the points, which has also been discontinued.

If the console makers would throw them a bone (multi-generational backwards compatible system) and / or better exclusives (so far the best I've seen is the 3ds One Piece game and the Ghostbusters game for the ps4 and xbone) they'd be in better shape but there's no incentive for Sony, MS, et. al. to keep GameStop around. GameStop also missed the boat on digital and are now having to play catch-up (which they won't be able to).

I think their next effort is going to be similar to how places like shopping malls and movie theaters are trying to stay solvent... They're talking about making the store visit more of an experience. I'm sure they're looking at playing games in nice chairs on big screens, possibly hosting competitions, but their current stores have a really small footprint. That kind of stuff takes up tons of retail space. I'm not sure how they'll produce something significant enough with the size of most of their current stores.

I still use GameStop, but not nearly as much. It's gone from hundreds in line for a copy of Halo 2 at a midnight release to a couple dozen picking up only the most sought after release (just after store closing at 9pm), and that's pretty rare. Amazon delivers the newest game to my door and I don't have to get out of my pajamas... Amazon is a wrecking ball when it comes to brick and mortar stores and I don't know that GameStop has the juice to survive.

I will be...

Neither game is one I'd pay much for but they both should be barrels of fun, especially Sniper 4..
