I completely skipped over it when it was popular and always regretted it. If the opportunity presents itself i'd jump in.

Thanks a lot!

@retro junkie that would be cool, I'll give it a shot

A calliope played at the end of a Sepultura video....

i'm not hopeful, I mean I love handhelds but the psp hurt my hands after any extended play and I never bothered getting a vita. Nintendo for the win

I keep meaning to get it but I've been getting my fill of humiliation from Titan Fall 2 so I've abstained so far
#488
I'd love to see Mega Man Legends come back

I ranted about this before any sort of research and may have to backpedal a bit.

IF it works as advertised it could potentially find its way into my home but I'm really going to miss those physical copies...

Speaking of if... What are the consequences to the hardware market? If I can run whatever off of Google's resources why would I pour thousands in a gaming machine? Why not buy one of those 200 - $300 hp trade-ins off of newegg? Would that then make the price of cheap stuff go up, or the price of high end stuff go down, or both?

As far as devs go, it seems like it'd be easy to develop for as well. I wonder if you'd get to use their resources for developing? It seems unlikely but if so i'm sure that'd bring everyone with any sort of idea and talent to the table.

Recently I started watching someones youtube video which showed a clip of every gamecube game. After watching that I felt that I was asleep during that period of gaming. I saw so many games that I did not know existed that I now want to play.  :o

AND - you weren't way too late.  YOu could've caught up  ;D

I watched google pitch the thing and maybe it's pretty cool... There's so much to talk about, its such a shame we (mostly I) hijacked a retro post to talk (rant) about something up and coming

Still no Warlock... c'mon MCU - One of Stan and Jack's best cosmic super heroes and the face of the Infinity Gauntlet series is still MIA.

Anyway, Movie looks cool, can't wait to see how they get everyone back especially since most of those from early avengers movies are seemingly done. Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man and much of their supporting characters are done with contracts and / or moving on.

I've got 400 down and 35 up and i'll bet my left one it'll still lag... They're never fully prepared for the network traffic, they'll throttle their users (Like when I try to download from Steam) and if this thing catches fire that infuriating Net Neutrality discussion will flare up like a bad case of the herp...

There were MANY good games.  I bought into the Gamecube pretty heavy.

@BLUEVOODU I remember during the EGA days you had fanboyish tendencies! I'm also fairly certain I picked up the phrase "wavebird frisbees" from you

@retro junkie I really think the GCN being released over a year later AND not supporting DVD was why I completely slept through it. It also happen to hit when I was in college, it was difficult enough to afford one game system and beer. After I got out I picked one up, but was way too late.

I was late to the party where the cube was concerned. I had a few games, messed with the ds as a controller stuff, but only really played Mario kart and Mario party with it. I've heard about all the cool games much later and haven't done any catch-up. I was the only Nintendo generation that I practically skipped over.

If gaming goes saas I'll quit.
#497
After running through the campaign I put it down for a bit. I'll be looking to play multiplayer pretty soon

10 is always one of those I've meant to play, I just never found time to. You've definitely given it a higher place in my queue now.

The game is great. The AC130 mission is an absolute blast!

I've got to take the kids to different places and pick them up at different times but I should be able to play early evening or late tonight as well as all of Sunday.

It looks like Sega is flirting with a bigger involvement in hardware. Maybe there's some weight to the Sega / Google / Ubisoft confab on a new console... Here's hoping
#502
was that the game that messed with the player mind? I remember hearing one that'd tell you the controller was unplugged or acted like the cube turned off, or something?
#503
This weekend looks like a good opportunity
#504
I've not had an opportunity to play online yet, this weekend looks promising though
#505
@retro junkie sounds like fun

I just run through CODMW Remastered on PS4 and am trying to convince myself to play though it at a slower pace to pick up the rest of the intel pieces. I'm also looking at Red Dead 2 since it just dropped to $39 at gamestop and bestbuy, Star Tropics (free on Nintendo Online) or some Zelda I've not beat yet.
#506
One of the stand-out Call of Duty games is on PSN for free for the month. This might CGD multiplayer worthy
#507
I found a complete copy of GTA 4 for the ps3 at a thrift store for 2 bucks and impulse bought Kingdom Hearts - The Story so Far - after hearing a coworker rave about the newest Kingdom Hearts game. Still waiting for the game back log tracker @BLUEVOODU
#508
I just grabbed Grandia 2 for the Dreamcast and Dragon Warrior 7 for the psx.

@targetrasp TAKE IT BACK!  TAAKE BACK what you said about Titanfall.   ;D  Cuts deep bro.

@BLUEVOODU this freakin' guy!  ::)

I really wanted to love it (talking about Titian Fall 2) but I couldn't. I don't know if it snored, slept on the wrong side of the bed, kept the heat up too high, or just put the toilet paper on upside down but something about her just bugged me. Don't get me wrong, we're friends, we still hang out but just for a few minutes of fun when I don't have anything else to do..

From what I've heard you get a mission, fly to said mission, complete said mission, go back to Tarsis, rinse lather repeat. The going back to town after each mission, not being able to change loadouts on the fly, and sameish looking enemies, and the meh loot, makes the experience too much of a grind.

I've also heard the story is lukewarm at best and there's no real sense of progression. People have complained about the pacing of the story and how the awkward interactions between characters often seem forced and unemotional.

The absolute worst thing I've heard about the game is that it's just a little better than Destiny 2.

I have heard that small improvements have been made but I can't jump in yet. A great story (or great loot) can make up for an excessive grind or satisfying gameplay can make up for a tepid story (Call of Duty, Borderlands). I think Anthem would fall in the latter scenario IF the grind or loot progression got addressed.

My fear is that if I pick it up now it'll fall in with games like Titanfall, Destiny, Halo 5, etc. that I was really excited for but found them just to be ok. Each may have been played a couple hours and sit on the shelf. I'll grab those kinds of games up during the $10 black Friday or amazon sales.
