If you close your eyes the music sounds like it could be from a yet unreleased mega man game.

I dig steel books too. not 100 - 150 dig, but a $5 to 10dollar upcharge on a used one i'm fine with.

I've got a habit of running through the used games looking for something shiny

confused...

jack and strubes on COD BOPs4 or Titanfall 2...

I'm still not masochististic enough to play Titanfall.

its downloaded.

I've got some vacation time leftover I'll have to burn off, I think I should take a week and smoke cigars, drink bourbon, and try to finish as many games as I can. Probably cheaper than a ski trip... This one most certainly be one of them.

There used to be a place near fort worth that was a big part of the secondary market for games... I'll bet with Gamestop HQed in Grapevine TX they've stopped or owned it by now.

My local one doesn't have the portals anymore (at least not on displace) now there's a million PS3 move controllers. It doesn't look like the portals are available online now either.

It seems like these things would be all over the place. Remember wii fit boards, and guitar hero controllers... EVERYWHERE. at one point I was buying balance boards for 2 - 5 each at thrift stores. Not so on the skylanders...

Sometimes it's decided to destroy the new old stock instead of letting it hit the secondary markets (ET, sega dreamcast, psx, ps2 games) I wonder if Skylanders have met the same fate?

I ask because the game seems dead. I'm not aware of any cult following and I know these toys got mass produced. I'd imagine $.50 - 1.00 per toys somewhere, but no, the cheapest I see these things is 3 each. Occasionally there're be a lot on eBay that translated to 2ish per unit.

Anyone know where the flood of Skylanders crap went? Surely it's not all on eBay...

I have yet to see anything at a yard sale, thrift store, or goodwill. There's one used book store here that takes media and games in on trade that has a few from time to time but I've just not really seen these floating around in used condition.

Toys R Us kept a wall of these things. I bought tons for .60 - .99 cents during their closure.

I know these thigns sold well, just look at gamestops endless supply of the game and portal.

The fam finally got around to playing Super Mario Party today and I must say it did not dissapoint.

I've only played one board so it's hard to say if theres anything as good as Koopa's Tycoon Town (favorite board in the series, from mp8) but the ally space / mechanic kicks butt. There's a dice specific to each character that can be changed from character's dice to normal dice during each roll, and then each ally give you the option of using their dice on top of rolling a dice themselves that adds to your dice roll. I liked it, by the end of ten rounds I had three allys following me around. They even show up in some of the mini games although it seemed just for vanity as i felt no real advantage to having them there.

My gripe with the game is that it only accepts the joycon. I have the pro controller and two joycons that came with the switch and it'd much prefer being able to use the controller. the joy con works much like the wiimote did but it's much smaller, it doesn't feel confortable to me. My child love it, and worked me in the majority of the mini games. I did end up beating him 5 stars to 3 stars in the end. The computer on normal had 2 stars and 1 star and that was only after the bonuses. it was 4,3,1,0 before the 2 freebies in the end.

Online looks to be dissapointing. You can play with friends but the board game portion isn't available. While I'll admit its much cooler to play with 4 people in the same room, it'd be nice to have the option open for online play. We'll have to settle for playing 5 rando mini games online...

Definately not sorry I bought it but I can't see it being the favorite of the series. It'll at least hit somewhere in the middle. If theres some cooler boards it may even rank higher in my book.

I can't remember, when you die do you start completely over?

I just watched a gameplay video of this where someone finished the game in under 15 minutes. It sometimes took 15 minutes just to get thrown in jail. I never really made it much farther, hard goofy game. cool looking at the time though.

turtle beach often tries to look like a gaming headset. My kids get these headsets that light up all over the place and look like they're from a sci fi movie. Mine aren't like that. They're a very understated black with some silver accents, no lights, funky designs, just functionality.

my daughter gets on my ps4 and plays, apparently some boy she likes plays it and she's feigning interest...

20 years ago girls wouldn't have anything to do with video games. if you didn't play football, guitar, have a nice car, or motorcycle... no dorky kids playing video games have girls pertending like they're interested in the game...

I'm officially old.

I think all that's left for me (after everything I've preordered and already purchased) is MAYBE Red Dead 2. I've got so much to play though and am certain it'll get cheap rather quickly...

Ok so I'm waiting on Spiderman as well, but that's probably it...

Somehow I was able to download it on Origin and play for a while. I didn't get a kill, I couldn't stay in a titan, I couldn't do anything except for die. I might as well have been holding the controller with my feet.

Since I've had kids, started wearing suits to work, lost touch with most of my friends, my gaming prowess (what little I had) has diminished. Despite that, even jumping right into a multiplayer game I'll get a few kills. I was so horrible and had such a rough go at it, I never picked the game up again.

I think my daughter's first tablet met its end in the toilet.

I'd be willing to bet 75% of cell phones would glow just as bright as a teenage boy's keyboard under a black light.

I picked up a really nice (and moderately priced) set. Turtle Beach earforce px24. It comes with a modest amp and works well on just about anything I've connected it to. It's fairly light (I'm a real big fan of the Samson Sr850 headphones) and it feels similar to those, just a whole lot lighter.

I think @CreepinDeth is the headphone audiophile so he may be able to shed more light on the top end. If I'm blowing money on sound it's on speakers my neighbors can hear. My headphone / mic / headset tastes have always been bang for the buck type stuff.

nice, I'm covered up right now and on a Switch kick, but I'll certainly pick this up at some point.

Sounds good. I'm taking a chill out weekend. My boss is in Knoxville, the owner of is in Canada, so no one to assign me anything tomorrow. Outside of an emergency I'll be free all weekend.
#771
If / When I find it cheap I'll grab it. my experience with the first Titanfall tells me to steer clear, but for cheap I'll try again. Are those still playing all die hard fans or is there some chance I'll not get completely embarrassed?
#772
which one had the dragon poop in it?
#773
After the butt kicking I got on the first Titanfall I don't know that i'd even give the second one a shot.

General Discussion / Re: LEGO?

as I kid I could never keep a set together. I'd put it together as soon as I got it, then tear it apart and leave it with the rest of the lego sets. Mom would get rid of the instruction booklets (or i'd tear them up) and then just more pieces that were hard to build outside of their intended purpose.

I hoped my kid wouldn't inherit that but I started small just in case. at one point we had the first 3 or 4 waves of the mixels put together on display, a lot of the little star wars stuff, and some batman stuff. All long gone... books are in shambles, legos are scattered, and many many pieces missing.

Fast Forward a few years. If I can tear him away from Fortnite, my son will build stuff with me on occasion. We take our sweet time though. The Millenium Falcon is from his birthday in 2017, and we still have a 5 more bags worth of parts to go.

I really want to get this thing finished before Christmas so i can pick up something else.
#776
Doesn't anyone watch Rick and Morty? You're gonna get pink eye playing cell phone games on the toilet.
#777
I'm probably going to hold it for Christmas so I went ahead and picked up the wii and wii u flavors, just in case I got the desire to crack it out before Santa comes.

A ton of preorders showed up in the last few weeks

Black Ops 4
Starlink - battle for atlas
C64 Mini
NEO GEO Mini International

I also picked up a few used items

some sub $2.00 retro stuff - Tetris Plus, Namco Museum 64, Namco Museum vol 3, Fable, Mortal Kombat 2

And I deceided to catch up on Smash Brothers; Super Smash Bros, and Brawl should be delivered tomorrow as well as Super Mario 3d land (to replace the disc a third time)

@BLUEVOODU do you keep these bigger sets in tact? It's dang hard to keep Parker from tearing these things to pieces and mixing them in with the general Legos. It wasn't until I took his great grandmother's china cabinet and started filling it with Lego sets that said sets haven't been reduced to midnight snack landmines and Roomba fodder.

Do you make trips to Japan or are you having this stuff shipped over? I only ask because I've yet to find an economical way to get started with the Japaneese stuff. The games seem cheaper on eBay (except for those rare must have, not released in the US type games) but the systems are nuts.
