Next-gen console prices and release dates allegedly leaked with Microsoft's Xbox Series X and S taking very strong positions against the PlayStation 5 consoles - notebookcheck.net

I figured the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X would hit $500 this round.  I was preparing for that...

I ended up downloading both!  I kind of want to break out PUBG again.  It has been awhile.

Call of Duty - Cold War is coming out this year.  I was really hoping it woukd be delayed like Halo but it is not being delayed.

Is anyone pumped for the new Call of Duty?   I really don't want the current version to be done yet as it feels there is a bunch if life left. 

@mastermario - doubt there will be a new level released with Cold War coming out.

LOL... I actually made a decent dent the last 2 years in my gaming backlog.  I had a goal of playing every Steam game I owned for 5 minutes... and I've played several of my old titles.  Tons of them are still sealed.   I won't even begin to say how many "Lego" games we have that are sealed still... waiting for the others to be "platinum trophied."

I REALLY wish Call of Duty would have followed suit and made the current Modern Warfare run longer.  However, Cold War is still coming out.    Halo Infinite looks interesting... and I will DEFINITELY be buying the Master Chief collection on Steam at some point... yes please.

Who is pumped for the Microsoft Xbox Series X?     What are you  excited for (features ... etc)?   Will you purchase Day 1?

There's a free new Super Mario Bros competitive game on the switch.   You compete against 35 players... like in Tetris 99.   It looks cool...

There's  new interesting VR type Mario Kart race car game you can setup in your house.   

And an exclusive game and watch (looks cool, I will see if I can find pre-order links)... plus Bowser's Fury announced.

Did you all see this?  Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Nintendo Switch is coming out September 18, 2020.  It includes Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy.   They are all formatted to look nice on the Nintendo Switch.... they're not necessarily updated visuals, but if you try to play any of these games on a current tv, they don't look the greatest.  The videos look rather cool though!

I will say... I wish it had Super Mario Galaxy 2 as well.    That's the only downside to me.  @targetrasp This appears to be a limited release as well... at least the Nintendo Direct mentioned it was limited.   some of these were limited in the past... and I didn't see anything about a special edition.  This is releasing at a bad time... lol...

@retro junkie yeeaaahhhh..... that is quite pricey.  I'd love to get my hands on one to see how it is though.   You are right... a Vita OLED would be perfect for this... but the resolution would have to be updated.  You wouldn't be able to take your old games in their old Wii format and play them well on a Vita sized screen and have them look good.

@CreepinDeth - I need to check out a couple of those.

@Grindspine legend of Korra and avatar are awesome.... I dig those a lot.

We are going to start watching Star Trek Enterprise next.  We finished 30 rock ... and something else... can't remember now lol.

I Would like to play this... but I opted to not buy an Xbone.   I will be doing the same during the next console series.   It is not because I don't like the XBOX... I made a decision to not buy all the consoles anymore during the last round of Consoles.   


This game looks like a lot of fun.... I remember my co-workers talking about how fun it was (about 2 years ago now).  Now that you're playing, it makes me want to pick it up.  HOWEVER... I'm sticking to my guns on the consoles lol.

I know PlayStation Vita support has ended and the hopes for another Vita like PlayStation for PlayStation 5 Support is slim to none.  However, the handheld still holds up... and according to the article below, deserves a comeback.  I 100% agree.  The games still look good... the screen looks good... and the overall system has held up well to aging.

We need one that sports a PlayStation 5 player as well.. where you can network play your games like you could on the PS4.  That is really a fun feature.  It has limited support for games like Call of Duty (due to limited buttons and button layouts)...  but there are many games where this works like a gem.

This looks pretty cool... I didn't look to see how they managed the motion controls... meaning does it convert to just the "cursor on screen controlled by joystick"... looking into that shortly.  Games like Trauma Center might be difficult or impossible.    It looks pretty cool though!

The Xbox section needs a bit more love... however, this is also for PlayStation 4 (and PC).    Who is interested in this game?    Both games were a lot of fun in the past... not sure how it will translate in the future.  How many of you played?   I Think Pro Skater 3 was the most played for me.

@mastermario I agree... the rejoining needs to be a thing for Call of Duty Warzone.   I've hit a few rounds of that lately were the lag out was an issue.   It's quite frustrating.

We need to join up again at some point in the near future.  @targetrasp and I have been playing a bit here and there.  I've only seen you on once (for a short time Saturday I Think it was)

Another massive game - Microsoft Flight Simulator is 127GB large.  According to the below article, the client for Steam is only 532MB... and because downloading starts the clock on your gameplay, it could affect your steam refund.   It appears that threshold is 2 hours.  However, Steam assured it won't affect refund requests...  and you're not downloading the full 127GB on the Steam clock.

Man... it was a super bummer to read this. I didn't realize he was battling cancer during all the Marvel movies.  It's hard to imagine anyone else as Black Panther and I really liked this actor.

Yeah... @mastermario ...  that sucks.   I was shocked to find that out yesterday. He was an awesome actor for Black Panther. 

This topic is a bit late... however, Fall Guys and Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered are the free PSN games available right now.

Fall Guys is a lot of fun... I'm planning to create a Topic on it soon.  Modern Warfare 2... is pretty cool too.  I assume most gamers have already been through the game.

If you play fall guys, we will have to join up sometime. 

I'm not sure how many of you like to play flight simulators.   I played quite a few in the mid to late 90s... even before that was Chuck Yeager's Air Combat (I think it was called). I used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator, many variations of Jane's games, others That were not well known, and Microsoft's Space Simulator (I don't recommend this one).  One of my favorites was the Flight Unlimited series by Looking Glass.

We did repainting over the last month.  We have more to do as well... but fixed some holes and other things from previous owners.  We took the cheaper price and fixes though.

Lol man... I'm not sure what I would do. Maybe not in this example (not necessarily talking about this mom), but many parents are ignorant to what their kids do online.  So many parents of the kids I saw have no monitoring or idea of what their kids are doing, who they are talking to, manipulating or being manipulated by.  I know a lot of people don't want to think about this. It sucks.. I get it

@retro junkie - yeah... thats nice. I've been remote working since March. I think I've filled up the tank in my car.... Probably 3 times now.   Thats a very nice thing.

I think covid will be changing how many report to work and office spaces are utilized (or lack there of) in the future.  It is with our company now.

@Grindspine - I dug into Ori.. But I haven't checked out Hollow Knight.  What is it like?

We have seen this with movies and other releases...  it's not surprising we have and are seeing this in game launches.

Good news though!  The Xbox Series X is still on track for November!  I'm Probably skipping Xbox again this generation because I've been trying to concentrate on a single system...  and it's cheaper. However, I really miss Gears of War and Halo series.
