@retro junkie

nice, I'll save the seller. I'm bleeding money (more like bled out) so my temperance is finally starting to kick in. It sounds like if i pick up one of these i can keep my minis sealed and have the ability to play everything.

I wonder if the S gets considered a failure and if that'll stop this silly digital push!

Leave the digital to Steam, Epic, GOG etc. I want xbox, Sony, Nintendo etc. to stay physical.

nope, it's a shelf decoration. I don't intend to leave it wrapped but I've not really been compelled to crack it open at the moment.

Weird to go back and see what I was doing a year and a half ago!

Mass Effect got completely forgotten, Although its on my mind now..

MW2 needs some love again. It's one of those you talk about playing for an hour or two and next thing you know the day is blown. This may be why I don't spin it up as often as I'd like. It'd be great to join up with some of the CDGers'

Some friends talked me into game pass for PC and we've been playing Gunfire Reborn. Great game with a few friends, not so great solo. Also playing Chained Echoes on game pass. It's a RPG with a decent story but really cool (although pretty simple to dominate) battle system. A few hours in they're still adding mechanics and it's getting a little more complex. I've got some high hopes for the game.

Retro consoles, series x, and switch have been gathering dust. Work gets really slow during the first quarter so maybe I'll find some extra play time.

The first several episodes didn't do much at all to reel me in, I think I stopped somewhere in the middle of the second episode and didn't come back for a long time. I started seeing all these raving reviews and decided to give it another shot. So glad I did.

It's gritty and gray. The rebel side isn't portrayed as the end all be all good guys; it's dirty, it's layered, and it's not the cohesive unit you see in the earlier films. Conversly, the empire isn't shown as the overwhelming monster either. There's some compassion... This I love.

What drives me insane is that stupid Syril character. People absolutely rave about this guy and the character, and I just don't get it. The gung-ho bootlicker company man lives with his mother, insecure yet overconfident... just completely irritates me. His counterpart in the show is equally annoying.

In a series that has such relatable elements, the hard decisions, emotion, mistakes, suffering, sadness, complicated relationships, selfishness, etc. These clowns just don't bring anything I can relate to or care about to the narrative.

castlevania was difficult for sure... there's a brick wall i run into late game that I just can't get past, even taking advantage of the rewind function on the anniversary collection i haven't been able to get past it. Super frustrating!

I absolutely hated that level when that game was new, matter of fact I never revisited the game until the Cowabunga Collection just because of said level.

This time around it didn't seem so hard. I "cheated" and looked at a map because always ran out of time back tracking. As a kid, getting killed a billion times trying to sketch out a map was part of it. Unless Nintendo Power had a map you were completely blind. If there was one back then, I must have missed that issue or it was on the back of one of the posters hanging in my room.

I like a lot of the pong derivatives and can stand games like centipede and space invaders but the atari console versions are far inferior. I keep trying to love Atari but I just can't. I do like the game art, and the collectability as well as accessibility of the pre jag stuff but every single time i've built up an atari collection i've sold it off. With that said, I still purchased the switch version of this and it should be here tonight. Still trying I guess.

Now that I think about it I can't recall seeing one in a store. I see xbox s a lot, but the other current gen systems are still mia
#102
I preordered a looong time ago, prolly overspent by 10 bucks
#103
yeah i beat it! Back in the day I had to beat it with the game genie to figure out where everything was. trick is don't lose a turtle and find the buildings and sewers with a pizza close by; go in, heal up, get out, repeat.

Where I always struggle is in the technodrome. I always get decimated. using Donnie or Leo on the clearable parts and ralph or mikey as the sacrificial lambs in that last part part before shredder is the only way i can make it through. As long as Donnie is alive; Shredder doesn't get a hit in.

genesis mini 2 just came in the mail, this may get pushed back in the queue - game backlog is a FILO stack

Been really enjoying this collection. I've ran through the first nes game and the first arcade game. Really good at satisfying that nostalgia itch

Everybody knows luke, leia, and obi wan are going to be ok in the end so how much tension can you possibly generate? I think this is why a lot of the disney people are saying they're giving up revisiting old characters...

I think there's a formula (not sure if Disney has found it yet) where you can tell an exciting story without the hero's death being part of the action. Obi Wan did ok, but there were times where not knowing if some of the characters made it to tomorrow would have made the scene so much better.

I think if they just dumped the entirety of the series out at once (a la netflix) the writers wouldn't have to fit things into neat little 40 minute boxes and have some of the episodes rely on situations where knowing the future of the character takes away from the overall action. OR stick with episode / week but write a story that doesn't utilize the peril of the protagonist as the main focus.

People love picking these stories apart and I get it, wherever most people started with Star Wars was the pinnacle for them and everything outside of their beloved trilogy / entry point just can't live up. Personally, I consume it all and love it all. Some are far superior to others. For me, its nice to see something outside the formula of David vs Goliath, and BIG World Ending base, ship, fleet, vs small band of hopefuls and the fleeting task of taking it down. But really, i love it all, outside of those stupid droids cartoons, ewok movies, and the christmas special so bad you have to really search it out.

Yeah, marketing must be an after thought. Luna isn't very much hyped and the IGN article was supposedly the first I've heard of it but I think it's possible I have used this service and just completely forgot about it. When I downloaded the client, I had 30-40 games in my library already. Neat surprise! Speaks volumes over how sticky the service is(n't)!

I've had prime for a long time and had no clue they gave away games. They give games away sort of like Epic does, on a rotating basis. It's library fodder. I picked up my 3rd copy of Escape from Monkey Island and a few others I probably wont download BUT check the link, Prime Day this year has some nice free games and there's a bunch of free indie crap leading up to prime day. Mass Effect is an all time favorite and some of bioware's best. Scoring the whole collection for free is worth the prime with games download.

Rotten Tomatoes has it ranked as the worst but it's at least as good as Thor 2, The Incredible Hulk (as played by Edward Norton), Iron Man 2, or Age of Ultron... also the bottom tiered Marvel moves!

It's frozen pizza, off brand vanilla icecream, elevator small talk, kenny g; there's no redeeming qualities but nothing I couldn't stand.

I probably would rewatch all of the above (maybe not thor) before i'd watch the Eternals again.

I'm with @CreepinDeth, after the epic heel turn in Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith we really didn't get to see Vader be Vader... I dig it and I hope it continues

one year later, cheapest one on ebay is 105... guess i'll keep mine sealed
#119
All the sony CRTs I had lasted longer than any pet. I never managed to get a wega, i had the older trinitrons. I do miss light gun games and just screwing a bunch of rf switches together!
#120
I picked up an extra one so I could have a sealed one.

I'm with Creepin on this one, it doesn't look like the value will spike any time soon. I'm still keeping one untouched.

So far i've not played the open one, i need to remedy that.
