@Aya-Kun As much sexism as there is it still seems to pale in comparison to the love girl games seem to get now. My daughter subscribes to a lot of girl gamers' youtube channels and being a (semi) responsible parent requires me to research what my kids are watching. These people are worshipped. For every sexist comment there's a hundred "I love you" type comments.

And turn-about is fair play. With the political climate as it is the social justice warriors are after the white male, in everything from government to Hollywood. Maybe some places are further ahead than others but even in my little city we've not seen a male  mayor since 2005. There's some stragglers, but women are starting to get the respect they deserve.

That spring cleaning thing Steam was doing brought the game 10,000,000 back into my sights. I was 70% on the achievements and figured I could finish it off. Still at 70% after two days...

@BLUEVOODU You can buy just the dock for the Nintendo switch so you can use it in different rooms without having to unplug anything. It's pretty much everything that comes with the switch sans handheld for 70ish...

Almost no knowledge of available games (this thing is super expensive just to play rehashes of old atari games)

There's a downside to every upside i can think of sticking me right in the middle of buy or don't buy

A coworker handed me his daughter's laptop saying that it ran really slow. Looking into it the thing only has a 32 gb hdd (meaning under 30 useable) and runs windows 10, and came with office 365.

Windows 10 ver 1703 can get to 24 GB (windows 10 says minimum space 20 gb) + 1 gb for office + hp bloat and you're looking at 27ish gigs of drive space used...

Disk clean up saved about 500 mb of space and the computer still wanted almost 3 gigs worth of space before it would let me reset the pc both from windows or from hitting escape after turning the computer on.

Still not enough space to do anything... This time I ran disk clean up in an elevated command prompt and there was the option to select windows update, which was good for 16 gigs...

I'm guessing that streamlines (for lack of better term) the winsxs file at the cost of not being able to revert to past versions and / or kills restore points?
I tried it, and it ran for a while but would never finish. It seemed too good to be true!


Any windows gurus know a good way to gain some space? HDD is integrated on the board and this thing is almost netbook sized, meaning there's no easy upgrading. (that's a lie, i can remove the wireless nic to free up a pcie slot that could potentially house an ssd - all at a cost that would not be justified when weighed against the value of the device.

There's no docs, pics, movies, applications (outside of office, and minecraft - which combined is just over a gig) and everything that's usually stored on a hdd isn't here, apparently the user is a firm believer in the cloud.

I played one game for a few minutes, the others I just started up to get the badge... deffly liked the idea though

It's on my wish (eventual backlog) list!

I just purchased a bunch of Skylander Supercharger vehicles for $.79 each, a Paulette Amibo for $1.98 and a 6" Metroid figure for 7.49 from Toy's R Us last night. The deals are 40 - 60% off but there are also markdowns in the case of the skylanders and the paulette toys where were marked down to 2 and 4 dollars then discounted on top of that. Originally I'd heard there was wasn't going to be future shipments to the stores, but according to one of the workers there's a liquidator involved helping move old stock. (I saw a lot of winter clothing, fleece throws, easter baskets, etc.) My local Toys R Us didn't have a lot of empty shelf space, but there was a lot of the same thing spread around.

Manage expectations though, do go in expecting legos at 60% off and you'll be ok. The worker I talked to said they were still receiving trucks, I may be making a weekly pilgrimage

I've bought two of the snes minis, praying for another nes mini (supposed to come out in june) and bought those archival cases for the one i didn't open. Unless this turns into an AT Games dollar store kind of thing I'll do similar for it.

i'm terrible at the game but i'll play. I've got about 14 minutes of play time out of this thing since i bought it.

yup, Parker played it until he got hooked on fortnite. It's rarely seen play since and I've yet to pick it up

That's cool, although is the arcade cabinet part really necessary? Its not a dealbreaker by any means, just seems like a way to push msrp up.

Someone should be sure to mention when they set a release date or when preorders open up.

I really like the idea of an ecosystem like Apple and Amazon have created but they both are too rigid. Apple is pricey and Amazon excludes too much. Alexa was an awesome concept but the fire phone never flew and the tablets are so constricted...

Google is taking the ecosystem idea to a place where its starting to work best for me. It has it's home brand but others are allowed in the mix. The cloud drive, the office suite, no stupid shell, on top of allowing other brands...

A Link Between Worlds - I flew through that game.

It just came out at the perfect time when I had nothing else to do. It was great... so much like the SNES Zelda game, but in many ways an improvement.

Going pure soundtrack I think @CreepinDeth in on to something. Pro Skater 1 had some cool stuff, Goldfinger, Dead Kennedys and Primus off the top of my head, but Pro Skater 2 doing Bring the Noise and Guerilla Radio (and some other really cool stuff) really pushed it past it's predecessor. After #2 the fad died out for me, so I don't remember any of the other games.

Aside from all that we're forgetting the obvious - The earlier guitar hero / rockband games - i mean that's all they really were was a sound track and scontroller.

I don't know about soundtrack but the using Cage the Elephant's "aint no rest for the wicked" for the intro to Boarderlands was as good as anything I've seen, definitely up there with Breaking Benjamin in Halo

super Mario wii was awesome couch coop until someone got mad, at that ALWAYS happened. it was a much harder game with people
