Warzone recently came out... and is a decent mode.  I've played it a little bit, but don't know if I like it as much as Black out introduced in Black ops 4.

@mastermario @Grindspine and @SpartanEvolved and I have been playing here and there.  I need to play a bit more.    Quads was just released as well.

Who else plays this?   Are you getting into the new mode?    I still like playing the standard Call of Duty modes better... but these are fun at times.  Post it up!

Cloud Gaming / GeForce Now - Cloud Gaming
April 11, 2020, 01:41:19 PM
Continuing on with the Cloud Gaming topics...  I'm going to start highlighting some of the services.  In this topic, we are exploring GeForce Now.   I have not signed up for the service and won't be during the beer virus-pocalypse... however, This looks interesting.

Here is a link to the service:  GeForce Now - Cloud Gaming

Do we have any members using this yet?   @trkorecky @Polygon @CreepinDeth   Not sure if any of you do or not.  If you have... please post up your experiences.

From what I've read, GeForce Now is one of... if not the leader in cloud gaming at this time.  You have to own the games... all digital of course.  You can play them from "the cloud to your laptop, desktop, Mac, SHIELD TV, or Android device."

Check out the FAQ:
GeForce Now FAQ

So... has anyone tried this?  what are your thoughts?  Are cloud gaming services the future?  Post it up!

Cloud Gaming / Cloud Gaming - The Future of Gaming?
April 11, 2020, 01:39:49 PM
IN THE CLOUD...  It's been the slogan for data centers, applications / Software (SaaS), services, infrastructure (IaaS), and many other aspects of IT.   Now we have Gaming in the cloud.. or Gaming as a Service (GaaS)?  Is this the future?

This is more than just a Steam platform... this is essentially taking the hardware and processing of the game out of your living room, console/PC... and placing it in the hands of those running the cloud service.   You just have a monitor device and "controller" to connect to that service... and your monitor / screen  just feeds you the visual of what's happening.  All the processing of the game happens in someone else's datacenter.   It's certainly different... but that means entire monthly service contracts to use the service instead of owning the console or pc.  Certain services are gaining more popularity... but this hasn't fully entered the main stream yet.

What are your thoughts?  Is this the way of the future?  It certainly is for many companies moving their datacenters and workloads into the cloud.   But what about gaming?

Thoughts, comments?  Post it up!

Retro Gaming and Hardware / Re: Neo Geo Mini

@retro junkie I used to play this game ALLLLLLLL the time.   It was a quick, fast, and somewhat fun filler game.    I've had a lot of fun with it  ;D

Maybe we need a Zoo Keeper topic.
#965
I hear you... I'm going to break this out more in the summer.   I really want to get into Collection of Mana.  I just haven't played much since it came out.

I'm working to take a week off here shortly.... it's been awhile since I've taken a break.  Once that happens, I will break this out for at least one of the days.  It will be a staycation.

LOL... Zoo Keeper for the win!  Nice Comparison.  That screen does look decent... but it is small.  The Neo Geo X... I will try to post about that screen.   I need to find it...   yeah... I lost it somewhere lol.
#967
lol.. I read this and was thinking of @mastermario   ... if I'm right, he was playing this.

Accidental Cross-play makes Star Wars 'Jedi Academy' a console bloodbath - Engadget.com

So it appears veteran PC Players have been finding a way to make it to the remastered Console version and wrecking Console players.  Is this a case where Console players just need to play better?   OR is it truly unfair and a disadvantage?  I found this article to be pretty funny.

Thoughts? Comments?  POst it up!

LOL... how is that a Gamestop employee going to work?

@AngelBob A zoo... that's a great idea.

We've been working on a farm... and in survival, building real houses and buildings ... instead of just creative.  But that's been hard to get started with ideas.   It's way more challenging in survival.  I Started creating certain polished blocks to start making a really cool castle or something like that.

That controller looks nice... that's a very cool design.   I'd really like to buy a PlayStation 5 1st day.

I'm hoping ... per the reports... that all PS4 games are immediately playable... and PSN games can be available on the PS5 system that you had on PS4.   That would be awesome.      I only have the 1 article stating PS4 games will work on the PS5... but I didn't see anything about PSM yet.

That's a USB connector, right?   man... this makes me want to break out my old Neo Geo CD and AES.  I haven't played them in 3 years - CD.... and 1 year for AES.

Re-reviewing the screen... how well does it look on it?  The Neo Geo X was a little odd at times... but still looked decent.  I wonder how it compares.  I've also bought a couple Neo Geo games on the switch.  They look good on it... and did pretty good ports to the screen format.
#972
@AngelBob yeah... this is pretty crazy.   I'd really like try this out.

I don't have the PC version of Minecraft yet...  I Think I'm going to get it at some point.  Just PlayStation versions and pocket.

@targetrasp do you have any links?   Post up some links / reviews if you have a chance.

I hate to say... I don't think I want another device playing 8/16 bit games.  I have several now.

#974
yeah... the way this year is shaping up.... December will be here in no time.   ;D

I HOPE the add more games for the wait.. he he
#975
yeah.. Ikaruga is one of my favorites.   Very challenging game.   Now I want to break this game out.  They ported it to the Switch.... I think I might pick it up there in the near future for some handheld Ikaruga AWESOMENESS.

If we don't have it...I Think we need an Ikaruga topic lol.
#976
lol parks n rec... that's another one we've been watching.  BALLER TIME.   I Think we are into season 3 or 4 with Monk now... out of 8... or maybe it was 9 seasons.   Still a way to go!

HM... I need to look into IT Crowd.

We are going to do the Marvel run this summer.  We have all be 2 of the movies - Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy 2.  We are going to watch them in the proper order over 2-3 days.   We did that with the Harry Potter's last summer.

You bought an Xbox One X?    I wish I had more time for gaming.   What about the Xbox are you going to play?

you know... the Xbox section does need more love   ;D

Lol I finally scored Clorox wipes on Amazon. Arriving end of May  ;D

@AngelBob that's pretty crazy on the materials. Do they have any head times or know when those materials will be available?

I finally had to mow the grass. The exercise with yard work is nice... no gym right now.  :o stupid virus.   Weeks are passing by pretty quickly and I find myself working more remotely.  I really have to cut that off some days.

@targetrasp what are the eBay complaints about?
#979
Lol!  In your original message... You were referring to the sonic steelbook? Right?

Do you have the Wizard as well?   ;D that's cool you have all the video game movies.  I haven't been that diligent.  I only have a handful of video game movies.  Maybe a video game movie topic is needed.

@retro junkie How does the controller perform... say based against the old Neo Geo CD controller pad?

Good review... I decided not to buy into this.  I bought the Neo Geo X and many other variants... but decided to no buy this.    Do you think it's worth the purchase?

I'm surprised @targetrasp and @CreepinDeth haven't jumped in yet  ;D

@targetrasp are you buying sonic in steel book?

#984
That's definitely one that I didnt finish.   That's a great idea to revisit. I wonder if it's on prime.

We have been binging Monk and Psych.  Both are pretty funny and lighthearted... very good for a laugh and not too serious. I missed both of these while they were on air.

I think it might be time to watch the xfiles again...

Did anyone see monk and or psych?
#985
@AngelBob - That's pretty cool!   That's also a smart use of resources.   How long until that's up and running?
#986
No blues fans?  ;D

This is the Binge watching show topic.  We are all binging certain shows during the Corona-pocalype....  What are you binging?  What do you like and not like?

Alright... I changed a few things:

1.)  Created a new Battle Royale category with a Call of Duty board.
2.)  Combined FortNite and PUBG boards into the new Battle Royale Category and removed the older 2 separate categories for those boards.
3.)  Created a Cloud Gaming board for all Cloud Gaming and Gaming as a Service topics.

Feel free to post other suggestions for more Battle Royale games you would like to see in the Battle Royale Category.  If you have other suggestions ... please post them up!

Enjoy the updates and Game On!

@retro junkie are you still rocking out the GameCube?

Ever play Ikaruga for the GameCube?

Double post - @Grindspine I re-watched the video... this makes me want to try a new monitor. I believe the monitor I use is 120hz and I definitely get over 60 fps...  for csgo... I thought 120-200fps. I'd have to look again as it's been a very long time since I fired up csgo... or anything for that fact on my desktop. Now I really want try 144-240hz.

My comment on 60fps really is for motion tothe human eye... not accounting for all the input and drawing lags. I don't know if there's much to it, but I normally use low latency wired keyboard and mouse.

Btw I really like that channel  on youtube... they do a great job.    Good choice on video.
