How are they overbidding?  Wouldn't they be responsible for the amount they overbid?

#992
Yeah.... this is definitely crazy... but it was only a matter of time once the Nintendo Switch came out.   Nintendo was operating on "pillars' for so long... and now they have a pretty stellar product coming all into 1.  Still.. it is the end of an era.  On 1 hand I'm not surprised... but on the other hand... Nintendo has been a console and a handheld for a long time.

I mentioned on a previous thread somewhere that all gaming may end up like the switch... and the concept of pda's being a bit too early (though they were adopted into smart phones) and smaller devices being an all-in-one portable device "taking over" in future consoles.  We will see if that happens.. but I really envision the future being more devices like the Switch and taking them with you and being able to play multiplayer in proximity AND giving you the gaming power to play newer  games that require more power.

@retro junkie - I am with you though... it does give a bit of pause.

There has been a lot of speculation on the size of the PlayStation 5 based on the size of the USB ports...etc.  Here's a pretty good article showing the massive size of age PlayStation 5... and looks like the best configuration is standing up.

Nice - Good Video @CreepinDeth

yeah... I am glad that I bought from Amazon.  Mine Shipped and it should arrive today as well.    I'm really hoping they are like ... "SURPRISE... Galaxy 2 is already on disk.  Merry Christmas."   ;D

It looks like the RTX3080 is hard to acquire right now. I'm glad I won't be in the market for new hardware for a year or two.  But it reminds me of a few other points in history of trying to acquire certain computer hardware pieces.

Nvidia's RTX 3080 is already sold out pretty much everywhere online in the US - theverge.com

Did you already get yours?   ;D

I used to run a rig with a 4870x2 (I Think it was)... I also had built an i7 rig - which had just came out.  It had the triple channel ram...etc.   It ran Crysis well...  I was running at full spec for the time.    Crysis still looks pretty good by today's standards.  I know some things have aged... but it's a late 2000's game.

Back when Crysis 2 came out and the achievement we got on the PlayStation 3... it was hilarious because it rang true.  It's great to see that "Can It Run Crysis" is still around  ;D
#997
Lol... From Linus Tech Tips.  Can it run Crysis Remastered???  This one is for you @CreepinDeth @trkorecky

Funny thing is... @Grindspine and I were playing Crysis 2 on PlayStation 3... and immediately received the achievement. For starting up the game and finishing the 1st sequence.  The trophy was titled - "Can it Run Crysis?". It wa ls pretty funny.

Yeah... it is odd!  Our Best Buy has Switch Lites it appears.  While those are cool, there are some games that are limited on it.. Still, I'm tempted to get one as a secondary switch.
#999
Yeah... it's amazing how that's happening in many places.

Now.. If these were the size of penny racers... that would work out well?   Could easily fit over and under and make really cool jump obstacles.  That woukd be awesome imo
#1000
Yeah!  You Cannot get it on Amazon anymore either.  It's selling out hard.   I'm glad you got it.

Man... I'm hoping Nintendo is like... "surprise, Galaxy 2 j's really on the cart!"  Lol  ;D

It looks like there may be some production issues and the output number for the PlayStation 5 have been reduced.   This will make the PlayStation 5 more rare this year...

Check out the following article:

Sony slashed PlayStation 5 outlook due to chip issues - CNBC - seekingalpha.com

This makes me want to pick one up lol... but I have elected to wait due to economic uncertainties right now.  There are more important things to take care of at this point.

I'm not too surprised...  it seems this happens almost every launch.  But it still means shortages if you want it before the end of the year!

I will say... that is impressive.  Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will launch today annndd have 150 games from the xCloud platform.  While impressive, there are some "meh" game titles. Check out the list here:

Here is a decent Verge article talking about some of the details and Apple negotiations.

Microsoft will have more than 150 xCloud games when it launches tomorrow - theverge.com

A little to this one - Due to a game breaking bug, Infinity Ward has disabled all vehicles in Warzone.   Better.... Get... running before the gas gets you  ;D. Or... at least plan ahead.  @targetrasp and I seem to lose sight of the gas here and there. But we have become pretty good about running away from it without vehicles.

General Discussion / Poll: Xbox Series X OR PlayStation 5?
September 14, 2020, 10:35:58 AM
Are you looking into the newest generation of Consoles?  Are you buying the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, not at all, or BOTH?!

Vote it up!  You are able to switch your vote if you change your mind  ;D
#1006
@CreepinDeth - yes, it appears to support Portrait mode... and it's also a reported feature.   I just received the game today and will break it out tomorrow at some point.
#1007
Bumping this up... I regret not buying now.  You can still get the 4 game collection for $50 I believe...  but the collectors edition is stupid expensive now

Did anyone else pick this up?  I'm now sure the smaller edition - 4 games for $50 is worth it.  It might not stay at that price for long.

Nice!  If you have the chance... post up your thoughts when you get them.   I'm still on the fence for the Evercade... though it is cool... I might skip this one.  Still on the fence though  ;D

Just in case anyone else wants to order... you can still use these links to buy the Evercade and the site will receive a little credit.  As a reminder, you can follow any of the links and browse to other products as well. Those purchases all support the site and help towards hosting, etc.  This includes Groceries or anything else on Amazon.   Thank you in advance for your support.

Who here used to Play Bubsy the Bobcat?   Seems like forever ago... but it was a fun game.  It looks like they have brought it back... I meant to post this topic last year as a pre-order topic.  The game has already launched... and it had caught my eye.

Man... this seem like a world ago with everything going on the last many months. Bumping this up lol... it was good for a laugh again.

@mastermario yeah... good stuff.

Did anyone notice that it has been hard to find Nintendo Switches at Amazon, Best Buy, and many other stores?   There were a few articles stating there are shortages right now...   Now it looks like Best Buy has Switch lites in stock... but Amazon doesn't seem to have any 1st party (sold by Amazon) switches in stock in the lite or regular Nintendo Switch.

Have you noticed the same?  I don't even see any special editions being released anytime in the near future either

bumping this topic.

@Grindspine Those were definitely awesome.  Did you check my comment for terminal velocity?  We need to jam that out again.

I ended up buying Psyvariar Delta for the Switch... it appears to be a decent Shmup:

In the Nintendo Direct topic... we discussed Mario Kart Circuit:
https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=805.0

There are many applications for this.  Personally, I'd really like to see the cars be the size the old Penny racers.    About 6 years ago... we were playing with remote controlled cars (rechargeable batteries) about the size of 3-4 quarters tall and about the size of a quarter big.    If we had cameras on them and they were the size and speed of the old penny racers, that would be a blast.

What do you think?
#1017
LOL that would be cool.   Do you remember the size of penny racers?   IF they were able to get these to the size of penny racers...  that would be AWESOME!

So how are you both enjoying this now @retro junkie and @targetrasp ?  Are you still able to get games for it?  IE if I wanted to get into this?  or is everything out of stock now?

LOL... if you find any more information... post it up if you can.  This is definitely an odd device.  I wonder how much demand there is.

yeah....  am extremely tempted to bite the bullet and pick up the new copy from Amazon right now.    I could get the digital... it's cheaper.    But I have a hard time paying $40 for the digital copy.  I will be picking up one or the other in the next couple weeks... I Think... I don't know lol.   I've been eyeing this game for a long time and it's not getting any cheaper or easier to get.  The Steam cost is even more pricey than that last time I checked it out as well.
