Messages - BLUEVOODU

ok... I checked it out.  It appears Steam doesn't like the HTML code.

Do this... change it to https://www.chickendinnergaming.com

If that doesn't work for you, just do chickendinnergaming.com   That should work.

Great Post, Retro!   Good stuff.

I agree with you... the retro scene totally changed.  The biggest change I noticed as around 2004-2005.  Up until that point, the collectors and classic gaming market was doing extraordinarily well.  It quickly dropped out and continued until 2007.   The markets have been down since then.  Even today, the current gen games don't sell like they used to  Digital Distribution has eaten into physical game sales.   We called this back in the EGA days.   Game Isles have shrunk... and many of the Game Stores have closed.  Many of the family owned retail stores I knew when my business was open... no longer exist.

Good information with the carts too... I've been thinking of doing more threads like this.  Where we can help others identify fake games - carts and cds.

I'll check that out a bit later this evening.

This is a little strange.  I didn't have issues with my profile or CDG group.

If you click the links in my profile and CDG group, do you get the same thing?

Anyone else try and have this issue?

Have you tried linking with https instead of http? It could be saying that because you aren't linking to the secure version of the site.

Also for Bluevoodu, maybe we should also redirect the http version so that you can be everybody is signed in securely?
http should already be redirected to https.   I quickly double checked and tested.  Confirmed.     IE if you go to just www.chickendinnergaming.com, it automatically goes to https://.  Same thing if you go to http://www.chickendinnergaming.com

Target - looking at your link you copied... you have erroneous text in there too.    %3C/a%E.

did you hit the little select next to code to select the entire code for the html link?

I'm not sure why that wouldn't work - that's how I've created most of my links.  You could just try https://www.chickendinnergaming.com and leave it at that if the code is causing errors.

Thank you for trying to add this site!

lol... is that how it finally ends?

Which apps?

I only ever used it for gaming, messaging friends list... and occasionally a quick web browser to look up PS Vita Trophies.

Does anyone still have one of these?  lol... I do.

I think I'm going to throw General Chaos in and play it.  Just reminded myself to make sure the batteries are out so they don't corrode..

ok - Persistent Discord link added in main post.

It should work now.

General Discussion / Linking to Chickendinnergaming.com
February 09, 2018, 01:02:21 PM
We do not have many inbound links at this time.  If you have the chance and would like to help with this, please add links (non-spam please) to steam profiles ... or wherever you can / want to.

you can do something like:
<a href="https://www.chickendinnergaming.com">Chicken Dinner Gaming - Chickendinnergaming.com</a>     ... this would be for sites that allow HTML tags.

For sites that do not a simple site link should work:
https://www.chickendinnergaming.com

Questions?  please let me know.   No pressure by the way - This is simple if you want to post links out there for the forum.  We are about at a point to start publicizing a little more.

It's only frustrating because I have such poor vision that I can't really tell what the letters are.  XD  I gotta have it like say the letters to me to get it right.
Yeah... I understand that.   Sucks we have to have some of these measures in place these days.

Dealing with the bot invasion on older SMF versions.  That was no fun.  Definitely trying to defend against that too AND trying to find the happy middle ground on this.

I will try to get a new invite up tonight... forgot they expire.  Will look tonight to see if I can make one persist for a longer period of time.

General Discussion / Any Troubles Posting?
February 09, 2018, 12:14:38 AM
Any issues to note so far?  Lag... Troubles Posting?  troubles getting to the site or not loading?

I haven't seen anything and our pages appear to be loading pretty quickly... just want to be sure everyone else is seeing the same thing.

One thing I notice when posting in a board that has not been posted to... it takes a 15-30 seconds for that post to show up... almost like waiting for a cache to refresh or something like that.

I mostly play duos/squads. The game isn't that fun to me solo.
I understand that... I have fun with the game solo as well.  IE if I want to just chill and play and not have to worry about a person getting mad because something didn't go there way.

The anality (yes, made up word) of some people can ruin gaming fun.

I need to hop back on PUBG - Do you SQUAD, Frodus?

Hey - Lego LOTR is a cartridge based game in a handheld console on the PS Vita :D     Glad to see you still rocking the classics!

Sorry but I have had a very bad week on the job. Lot of customer issues. I was planning on a little something, still am. Just need some time, hopefully this weekend. I would like to address the present state of retro gaming. Specifically from a collector perspective. And give a few pointers.

And thanks for the space!!
I was just kidding with you lol.

Hopefully the job gets better!  I totally understand the craziness... in the same boat.  It seems to be like that everywhere.

Just a reminder - Maybe we can relax this.

It was a pain dealing with the bots the last time... so far, no bots... though bots are visiting now.  This includes the web crawlers..etc.
#3318
After Signing in AND then 2 posts.. you will no longer have to do the captcha thing.   So... smooth sailing from here on out for you at post #2.

Who... does #2 work for?!
#3319
I am crediting you... good sir!

I still consider the PS Vita current gen... games are still being made for it... but it appears to be mostly downloads.

Who has one and still plays it?   I dig the format... and you can send PSN messages and get regular trophies on the go.  IT's definitely been my go to gaming device lately.

SpartanEvolved and I were playing StarCraft 2 Legacy of the Void when it was still beta.  They changed up so many mechanics... and the early game was a lot faster.. compared to Heart of the Swarm or the original Wings of Liberty.

We were building pretty quick... not expecting super early attacks with minerals and vespene coming in quicker due to more probes/scvs/dones at the beginning of the match.

All of the sudden, a couple cruisers teleport to the back of our base and just wipe us out.   it was super frustrating but all we could do is laugh about it.  I think shortly there after, we stopped playing SC2.
#3323
This is one heck of a good game.     I played it on the PS4 when it 1st came out.    It's time to go back to it again.   I haven't started Shadow of War either... waiting for the price to come down.

CGD Game Night sounds like a good forum to start.

There is a mod for incorporating videos from other sites... I can look into installing that.   Once SMF 2.1 becomes a release Candidate... we will upgrade.  this will give us some of the features MasterMario is looking for... IE calling out members using @mastermario.  It's currently a mod for our version, but hasn't been updated in a year.  I could try to install it to see if it successfully installed.  I'm still looking into a gallery concept - though trying to understand what about the xenforo gallery is appealing - or how to implement something like that here.

Forum Games - we used to do that, it was popular, and it fell off... but definitely would look into it again.  Man... Flash games really fell off the face of the Earth lol.  Those used to be the rage.

We have a Discord and steam group now... it would be cool to start centering some stuff around those - per your idea.  So there's opportunity for both for posting outside.  Definitely will look to expand these offerings.  Discord link is in the PUBG section:
https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=7.0

Last - Is the forum really stone age / outdated?    See... I get where social media went and how sites are created now.  Lack of focus and most content centered on "right now" in a  top to bottom vertical fashion (in comments for the event).   Where all comments are centered around each event... but not so much a community.  It has become about the "me."     But maybe we need to look at structuring a certain way.

I know this community will start small and slow.  Purposefully... I haven't done a lot of SEO or publishing - yet.   I've invited several old members.  I see a few came back.    If anyone wants to invite people - I say do it and get more people here.

PUBG - you'll have to try it. It's an adrenalin rush.  I'm pretty sure Spartan about puked when playing it because of the adrenaline rush lol

haha, anymore you'll have to send me an invitation through outlook to schedule a meeting!
LOL... I can do that :)  I totally understand... life becomes busy.

I've been wanting to try it again. I got it when it first came out but couldn't get into it then. I've heard the expansions have made it a lot better though, so it sounds like it is worth giving another shot.
That's the same boat I was in... I decided to try it once the expansion came out.  It was a lot more fun - especially after the Diablo 3 auction house was killed off.

It would be cool if we could coordinate D3 at some point - create a scratch character... and run from there.

My favorite review said... all 88 achievements in 9 minutes.

$1.00... 88 achievements ... in 10 minutes.  Don't Tell SpartanEvolved.  I've seen him play odd games for achievements.  MasterMario had a pretty funny Xbox live screenshot from awhile back.
#3328
Is this the GOTY version?
#3329
Yeah... same here.  It's not for lack of a good feature either.

I'll free up some time... we should get on D3 and play.   I've really had the bug to play this again.
#3330
That's true.. Beta, UMD, Super Nintendo CD player... Er PSX... wait... that ended up doing pretty well :)

...Sony MSX Wiki Page... I just looked that up.  Definitely interesting.  I didn't even pay attention to that on the page.  Thanks for pointing it out.

As the page states "MSX2 is not to be confused with the protein Msh homeobox 2."   Yeah... I followed that rabbit hole too.
