PC Rigs, Builds, and Peripheral Devices / Re: The Linux Topic
Last post by CreepinDeth - December 14, 2025, 12:26:42 AM
There's been some interesting news lately regarding Linux.

First, Steam Linux usage has risen to above 3%. That may not seem like a lot, but it appears to be jumping up in percentage pretty quickly. Especially now that Windows 10 is end of life.

Second, Gamer's Nexus has made the decision to also start benchmarking games on Linux. This is pretty huge. There are already tech YouTubers that do benchmarks on Linux, but none are as big as this team, as far as I can tell.

I just wish that RAM pricing didn't go crazy because surely that's going to stop some of the momentum. Either way, Linux is trending upwards!

I've started Batman: The Animated Series. I haven't watched it since the 90's and I've never seen all of the episodes. Looking forward to catching up on it.

Quote from: Mai Valentine on December 12, 2025, 02:31:13 PMI haven't finished Clair Obscure yet so I'm trying to avoid spoilers  ???  But honestly I bought the game based mostly on the music in the trailer being top tier, and it's a great game so far so I understand why it won so many awards.

I still haven't purchased it and probably won't for a while. Usually wait until it hits a good price. Probably under $20.

A lot of the games that were nominated I haven't played at all. I would say I haven't heard of 50% of them. Like the one that won the fan vote.

@BLUEVOODU had so many distractions, other priorities, things that crowded it out of my mind. I still have the console, but have never followed through with ordering a repair kit.

I've had several shows like that in the past.  For some reason, it's like... ok, I like them now LOL.  It's almost like sauerkraut in a way...

We are going to have to check those series out.  It's time for some Star Trek for sure.

I'm necro bumping this post.  Go figure.. I haven't done the mod yet and my soldering iron sits unused lol.  ???   I need to find a kit and resurrect my Turbo Express...  So many things left untied right now.

@retro junkie --> Did you resurrect yours?

@targetrasp --> The console5 link is still good to go.  That's a pretty cool website.

Quote from: retro junkie on December 10, 2025, 05:37:02 PM@BLUEVOODU you know, I remember having this game on another console. Was it PS2? I think I have it for the PS2. But it would be good to have on the Switch.

@retro junkie I believe I have it for the Wii as well.  It might have been #3 or #1... I'm pretty sure I have one of them for the Wii.  Confirmed - it was Castle of Shikigami 3!  It is a pretty great bullet hell game lol.

Great price on this one... I'll be shocked if it doesn't disappear like so many other games of today and their limited releases.

Here are the trailers for the new Tomb Raider games.

TR: Legacy of Atlantis is another remake of the very first game from 1996.

TR: Catalyst appears to be some type of sequel. Not sure where it falls canonically but seems to reference both the original series and the latest Crystal Dynamic series. We'll see what it turns out to be.
