This game is not exclusive to the Sega Genesis. Although it was designed with the Genesis in mind. I have it also on the Evercade console. Not sure what other consoles out there have access to this game as a possible digital download. I know it is available out there, and there was one to be released for the Switch. It was released in 2018 as a homebrew developed and published by Big Evil Corporation. It was a crowdfunded project through Kickstarter.

Tanglewood is a very unique and different gaming experience than anything that I have ever encountered. It reminds me of something, but I just can't quite put my finger on it. It is listed as being a platformer, puzzle game. But whatever images or thoughts that brings to mind, it is not what you are thinking. You control a fox. You are in an area that you can freely move about. To advance in the game you have to explore and discover. You have to use your head to figure out what to do and how to do it. What you accomplish results in you being able to gain a special ability that is temporary, but you have it long enough to accomplish what you need to do. The game contains a password code system instead of a save feature. There are save points in the game as you are playing because you will die a lot. At least I do. But this is incorporated into the password code.

The control is smooth and the graphics are beautiful. Combined with the music in the background it results in a very relaxing game.

This is one of those sort-of games in which you can set back and get into, if you know what I mean. And have a feeling of satisfaction with a sense of accomplishment and feel good about it. It really depends on how capable you are in figuring things out which determines the length of the game. You have to have your wits about you. The game is a winner.
