Something really crazy has been happening. In fact, even @MegaDrive20XX mentioned hell froze over when telling me of this story.

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches on PS5 in 2026. There are new campaigns, new graphical engines and more.  There's a lot to be excited about in this release!

So... I have to agree. Hell has frozen over.  The apocalypse is ready to begin.  Who ever would've thought Halo would've been launched on another console.  Let alone, active proper cross play is also a thing!  I never thought I'd see this day in gaming history.

This also begs the question... will the Zbox hardware continue?  It sounded like they were going to release more hardware at some point... but... these events keep happening.

We also talk about the Xbox Console longevity in this thread:

I am pumped for Halo: Campaign Evolved... I think it will be awesome.

Someone has to be shocked by this... no one?

Honestly... I'm surprised no one else was blown away by this.

@MegaDrive20XX and I had a brief conversation... and another friend as well @XFaKToRX!  Couldn't believe it and one of the biggest surprises in my opinion.

@targetrasp @CreepinDeth @Grindspine @Mai Valentine @mastermario @SpartanEvolved  --> Tagging a few others for visibility.

In my opinion... these events in combination with Costco (and potentially others) no longer carrying the Xbox is pretty telling.  I also created the Is the Xbox Dead Topic.  Links are in the text.

Post it up!

I guess I'm just not as surprised since Halo and Gears of War have already been on PC a long time. It wasn't so far a jump for it to hit PS5.

This is a fair point.  I always associated the PC move with Microsoft and Windows... but not another competing company.  The PC move happened a long time ago... I think Halo was ported in 2003?  But again, it was on a Microsoft platform. If I remember right, Halo 2 was 2006 or 2007 and had to do with Windows Vista.  This was on Games for Windows... or Games for Windows Live.  That new platform, if I remember right, that hit Vista.

It took a very long time for Reach, ODST and Halo 3 (etc) to be available on PC.   I guess it has been about 5-6 years since the Master Chief collection has been on PC (time flies).  I believer this is more of why it blew my mind to see Halo on PlayStation 5.
