Title: Do you still Arcade?
Post by: BLUEVOODU on July 12, 2025, 09:35:21 AM
Kicking off this new Arcade board!  It's been awhile for me ... but there are a few places that still have active arcades around here.  Have you been to an arcade lately?  IF SO, what have you been playing

Thoughts... comments... Post it up!

I don't have a good place for image hosting, but MasterMario, Renee, and I beat the TMNT arcade game at 8-bit bar & arcade in Indy.

@Grindspine - you can upload your images to this site. Might have to resize a bit, but you can add them as attachment and insert into the post  :great:

I love barcades. Always a great time! Indy has a couple of good ones and there are a few here in DFW as well as the Cidercade in Houston which is the best (they specialize in cider beers).

There are no arcades where I live. If there was I would visit them occasionally, especially if they had some old friends, like centipede, tempest, etc. And those old shoot'em ups.......Defender................yeah.......nice.................

We've got a barcade and pinball museum in Asheville that's fairly decent but I usually steer clear of downtown so I'm not there much.

When I go visit my brother in Myrtle Beach I usually take the kids to a few of the arcades scattered out there. The four player beat-em-ups, the racing ones, and the light gun games were always favorites.

Nice!  Fort Wayne has Crazy Pins and a few, Ultrazone, Putt Putt (not sure how good it is anymore) and a few others. There's definitely room for a barcade.

I can only imagine why you don't want to go down town, @targetrasp lol.  Whatever could it be?

@BLUEVOODU tempest 2000 is best played on the Atari Jaguar. Love playing it on that console. It never felt quite right on any of the other consoles that it was ported to. Don't know if it was ever an arcade game.

@retro junkie man... I miss the Jaguar a bit.  Tempest 2000 is one heck of a fun game on the Jaguar too.  I cannot say I ever saw or heard of an arcade version.  Pretty sure that's a negative.  There was an MS-DOS listed version though LOL:
