Earlier this morning I found a game cube with a bunch of games 3 n64 controls, 1 3rd party gcn controller, and a bunch of those plug into your tv controller / game combos for 12 bucks.

The games are crap, except for a complete copy of Metroid prime, and the gamecube was dirty and missing the center plastic piece on top that says Nintendo. Right now everything is being stored away, but when I get some time i'm going to completely disassemble and clean it up. The kid took great care of it as all the games had the cases and the instructions, there was nothing sticky on any of the games or consoles, and there was only one scratch on the console. I can't believe the condition it was in to be that dirty.

Outside of that I went to Toys R' Us today to check out the going out of business sale and walked away with a play and charge kit for my xbone as well as a copy of the Zelda collector's edition of monopoly.

Ooo... I wonder if we should do something board game related on the boards?  thoughts?  Zelda Collectors edition of Monopoly sounds pretty cool.  I have an older Nintendo edition that was awesome.

and $12 buck... prime is a pretty good game... I would like to revisit that game.

I love board games. Monopoly is an all time favorite and I've tried to get every video game edition of it I can. I've been meaning to pick up the Nintendo version for a while now. The monopoly gamer edition is awesome, and I've got the Mario kart gamer edition but haven't managed to play yet. Finding a group of adults with enough time to sit down and play a board game is difficult

Are these supposed to be game purchases? Because I just bought some hair gel from Amazon today haha.

Game-wise...last purchase was probably Dying Light I think.

Lol. Good call  - so I edited the 1st post title to include gaming.

Click the links here to buy that hair gel lol. We get credit for that as well. Pretty much for anything amazon related after clicking our links.

This post also has gaming added... so if replying now it should have gaming added to the title.

Been playing it with a few friends and its actually pretty good

@Aya-Kun seems like we need a Battlefield 1 topic... though I'm surprised there is still a fan base.

How do you like it? It didn't seem to appeal to me as much as the other comic / movie lego games.

I just added some older stuff to my collection:

halo
gta san andreas
destroy all humans
call of duty 3
fable
fable 3
gta 3
gta vice city
Morrowind
Oblivion
Jade Empire
metal gear sold 2
various skylanders figures

@targetrasp I haven't broke it out yet.    We are trying to finish Lego Jurassic Park and I didn't have much time to play anything this week.

I DID however buy Call of Duty WW 2 on sale - I saw you were playing it.  Maybe we need to hit up some multiplayer.   I have yet to open it lol though.

Nice Finds @targetrasp and @Mai Valentine

Still need to install COD WW2........... ...... .. .. .. .. .

Bought Legend of Zelda Tri-force heroes - 3Ds.  It's on amazon for $19 - I figure that'll be one to also appreciate lol... though I'll still open and play it.  :))
Title: Re: Post Your Recent Gaming Purchases Thread
Post by: targetrasp on April 26, 2018, 07:49:15 PM
tri-force heroes didn't keep me like most Zelda games do. I bought it on a whim walking through Target. I'd never heard of it, had no idea a new Zelda was coming out, and someone said, "hey new Zelda."

I grabbed it, took it home, played it for a few days, put it up. It was Zelda game sans story and as much as I tend to skip through dialogue it's weird and unsettling not having to do that in a Zelda game.
Title: Re: Post Your Recent Gaming Purchases Thread
Post by: BLUEVOODU on April 26, 2018, 08:48:23 PM
Lol this thing that wastes my time and I always have to skip... is not there...  and that's unsettling.

Now I'm having 2nd thoughts about buying
Title: Re: Post Your Recent Gaming Purchases Thread
Post by: targetrasp on April 26, 2018, 09:57:17 PM
play it, you'll get your money out of it. It was pretty cool, I'm just insanely unfocused, something has to be an 11 / 10 to get me to sit down with it more than a few times anymore. I only beat WW2's normal campaign because my son was ahead of me and giving me a hard time. Burnout, Ni No Kuni 2, Monster Hunter, Horizon Zero Dawn, Secret of Mana, Sea of Thieves, have all been played once or twice and put down  - Tri Force heroes is in good company!

More purchases...

Puzzle and Dragons + Puzzle and Dragons Super Mario Bros (sucks)
Rodea the Sky Soldier (looks like it going to suck)
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (trying to get them all so I can play in order)
The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventures (really wanna play around with the Gameboy link cables)
Suikoden
Golden Sun (finally found the game reasonably prices, I lost my copy when the game first came out, I still have original box and book, it skyrocketed for a while but has since came down)

It won't disappoint. We've got one in the house now, I'm waiting until some special edition comes out before I purchase a second. Walmart sells the official dock for 60 so you can set it up in multiple rooms easily anyway, no need for a second unless multiplayer is a priority. Odyssey and Zelda alone will entertain for a hundred hours easily.

@targetrasp  what's the dock you're taking about?  You should create a topic on that dock. I think I missed it.

@Kinikko - dumb question...  but how do you add games?

I bought Lego star wars force awakens on super sale.

It's like really super easy.  http://snesclassicmods.com/how-to-add-more-games-to-snes-classic-mini/

You just download this program and follow the instructions.  You add ROMs to it, so I know some people are iffy on the ethics or whatever of that, but it's never bothered me none.  XD

You can even install different emulation software and play all kinds of different stuff on it from different consoles.  I've not done this kind of stuff though but it seems pretty straightforward if you just follow the instructions.

@BLUEVOODU I really like it, haven't played as much as I would have wanted, most of the games take time and some times I want something to pick up and put down but what I have played I really liked

On a different note picked up a few things cheap recently that I wanted to add to my collection
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 hd PS4
Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD PS4
Nier Automata PS4

Not so cheaply but bought a Playstation VR hopefully will come tomorrow can't wait to try it out, other being on the fence but I was speaking with a friend last night who has one

They marked down all the Playstation VR real cheap, $150, at my local Walmart a couple of months ago. They sold them all out. And they haven't replaced them.

I sort of wonder how a racing game would be on one.

A couple weeks ago we sold a bunch of our old stuff we didn't need and got a PSVR with most of the games they have out for it.  Jacob loves it, and it is pretty cool.  I just need to get new glasses cause my nose piece on this pair is broken and it digs into my nose with the VR on.

@BLUEVOODU

Nier Automata is this, its kinda a squeal to Nier that came out in 2010 I loved the original, and I played the beta of this a while back but never had a chance to pick it up. It kept its price really well and only recently went down in the sale.

I love my VR no regrets on buying it, there seems to be some really good games out there and there pretty fun, was one of the VR games that made me feel a bit sickish but other wise no problems

Did play until dawn rush of blood and I love my horror films and games but even this freaked the shit out of me at times, especially when the creature is far away one moment and then 2 inches away from your face, gets the heart racing thats for sure XD

Recently purchased Attack on Titan 2: Wings of Freedom

Found The limited edition version of Tekken 6 for the 360 at a yard sale for $7.00 CIB. The box was and controller was in good shape but the game was unopened. I also bought GTA 5, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Xcom, and Skyrim for $2.00 each. I've already got all the games but those were in almost pristine shape.

Oddly enough the arcade stick smells musty or smoky while the games and even the box the stick came in doesn't. I guess it'll go in the clean and repair pile with that filthy gamecube i picked up a little while back.

I bought Shadow of the Tomb Raider early edition with the cool steelbook:
Chickendinnergaming - Shadow of the Tomb Raider Topic  (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=418.0)

This game was rated 9/10 by IGN... more posting about that soon.   The steelbook design is pretty cool as well - as noted in the above topic.

Game looks amazing. Let us know how it is.

@CreepinDeth - Will Do!   I have some screenshots of the case to load up.  I received the game a day early ... should've been 2 days.  I'll post a topic on this soon - but don't order other stuff with your pre-orders LOL.  They can delay the rest of your order.

@targetrasp Wow... have those games come down in price?  For awhile... I thought they were a lot higher.  Maybe I'm only thinking of Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros. 3.... but I could've sworn others skyrocketed in price.

The GBA stuff is sub $10.00... I've not looked at (or for) Yoshi's Island so I'm not sure (I hate that game) if it's high.

The SNES Mario allstars with Super Mario world is still a little high but the gba stuff is dirt cheap it seems. Even stuff like Golden Sun is super reasonable. I don't know what happened but i'm stocking up on GBA as much as I can.

@targetrasp and @retro junkie  --> If it's that cheap right now, I would stock up on as much complete as possible.  I'm going to look around as well for deals.

There are MANY good GameBoy Advance Games worth  adding to a collection.

I bought:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - ps4 (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=442)
Titanfall 2 Ps4.

I'd really like to get a few people from here on Titanfall  2 for the Playstation 4. (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=445.0)  Such a great game

Somehow I was able to download it on Origin and play for a while. I didn't get a kill, I couldn't stay in a titan, I couldn't do anything except for die. I might as well have been holding the controller with my feet.

Since I've had kids, started wearing suits to work, lost touch with most of my friends, my gaming prowess (what little I had) has diminished. Despite that, even jumping right into a multiplayer game I'll get a few kills. I was so horrible and had such a rough go at it, I never picked the game up again.

LOL... that is a bit rough, I hear you.  I've ran into a couple other games where that's happened and understand the feels.  I'm still rocking Titanfall 2 right now.  The game was played for about 4 hours on Saturday night... straight.  Best $9 I spent in awhile.

Okay.... this is awkward. My Wii died on me.  >:( Now I can't play Tatsunoko vs Capcom!!! Whats a gamer to do in this situation. After much reading, youtube videos, and fidgeting, I did the only thing I could do. Decided the best replacement for my Wii would be a Wii U. SO.......... I purchased one and it should be on its way to arrive next week unless the Holidays throws a monkey wrench in there somewhere. Also picked up Mario 3D land and Star Fox Zero. I am going to make a list of games. Zelda Breath of the Wild will be the first on that list.  ;)

@retro junkie That's a bummer about your Wii.  Welcome to the Wii U though!  It's a pretty good system.  I haven't picked up Star Fox yet... not sure how good it is.  We should have a topic on that.  You just missed the Zleda: Breath of the Wild sale for the Wii U.  They were blown out... not sure if there are any stores with it in new.  You can find it used still... but the price (I think) is about ready to go up.

Don't forget Super Mario Maker for the Wii U (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=107.0).  That's Hours of fun and you can still upload / play people's levels. There are troll levels though.

Picked up RE2 Remake on Steam. Currently testing it out and tweaking the settings. I'm getting massive drops in framerate during cutscenes and gameplay isn't a locked 60FPS at 1080p even though I exceed the Recommended Settings.

Hopefully it's something that can be fixed on my end since I don't want to wait for a patch to play.

Update: I fixed the issue. I had installed the game on my mechanical hard drive. I reinstalled it on my SSD and the game runs like butter with nearly all settings Maxed out at 1080p.

Funny how you get distracted when someone you work around gets interested in a console you own. Here I just got a Wii U and I am purchasing Gamecube games. These are my recent pickups. The opened games have no cover art. I am beginning to suspect that the Batman Begins cover art is not original. Reproduction maybe?  ;)

Driven
Batman Begins (had no idea this game existed)
Baten Kaitos
Capcom vs SNK 2 EO (had no idea this game existed- where was I?)
A series of Unfortunate Events
Evolution Worlds
Cars
Odama ( i need a gamecube mic for this one)
Waverace Blue Storm (I sort of like the N64 one better)
Title: Re: Post Your Recent Gaming Purchases Thread
Post by: BLUEVOODU on February 11, 2019, 08:46:48 PM
OH man... I COMPLETELY forgot about Odama.   That was a fun game.

Shockingly ... you can still get it new and complete for about $27:
https://www.amazon.com/Odama-Microphone-Gamecube/dp/B000CC5J52/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=odama+gamecube&qid=1549935635&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spell

I cannot believe this game isn't more... as it was the rage for the longest time.   How do you like it, @retro junkie ?  Get the mic yet?  Also... how is the series of unfortunate events?

@CreepinDeth So the SSD fixed all the issues?  That's interesting as generally drives as the Western Digital Black perform well.

I FINALLY picked up my  Axiom Verge Multiverse Collectors Edition for the PlayStation Vita.  (https://www.chickendinnergaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=464.0)  Click to see story... sigh... Gamestop. BUT I GOT IT!

PS - we need more specific posts on these games.

Yeah, it fixed the issue. Looks like the game streams a lot of assets. My hard drive is a tad old but it's not a Black drive. It might be a Green Drive actually. Either way, I saw one other person over at the resetera forums experience this so depending on age/type of drive, you're better off just installing on an SSD.

I purchased Nier Automata on Steam, mostly because the next expansion of FFXIV is going to have a crossover raid, but also because I've heard great things about Nier anyway. For background noise I left YouTube on. It got stuck on this video game pickup videos that Metal Jesus and Radical Reggie do together. They must have mentioned hundreds of games but two made me stop what I was doing and pay attention, and of course I bought them both this weekend.

Reggie said Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology for the 3ds was Chrono Trigger good. Metal Jesus mentioned Victor Vran had Motorhead in it... that's all it took...

Outside of that I picked up Anthem for ps4 and tales of vesperia for switch cheap last week.

@targetrasp I just picked up a hand full of games for the middle of October. I will be taking some time off and wanted some new stuff to mess with. One of those titles is "Radiant Historia" for the DS. It has some good reviews too. I did not realize there was a second one for the 3DS. If I like this one then I will look to pick that pone up too.

Other games in my recent pick up,
Monster Hunter Stories-3DS
Yo-Kai Watch-3DS
Yo-Kai Watch 2-3DS
Contact
Monster Tale

I will find it interesting just which one grabs my full attention.

tom Clancy's the division 2
Anthem (the legendary ? edition was 5 bucks, I know the game sucks)
Starlink (toys were 2 for pilots and 5 for ships, I bought all I could)
The Outer Worlds

My vacation was supposed to start this week and i'd purchased all this crap to fool around with, however my vacation was rescinded or at best truncated. I may be able to go in on Monday, fix a bunch of suff, put on our holiday party, and get the rest of the week to chill... here's hoping

@Mai Valentine  I really want to buy Gears 5 for the PC... I just haven't done it yet.   I really like that you only need a silver account to play online with a PC.  That's an awesome move and is very attractive for pc gamers that don't really want to buy an Xbone.

@CreepinDeth 1st world problems lol  ;D  I have the same issues at times.

I really haven't bought anything else gaming wise lately outside modern warfare.  I think we bought Luigi's Mansion 3... but that's about it.  My time has really be consumed with Super Mario Maker 2 and Modern Warfare.  Those 2 are enough and take so much of my time as it is... there is no time for anything else really.

I finished outerworlds (freaking great game) so I've started adding to the backlog again...

Steambot Chronicles - I've wanted this for years. I've watched eBay auctions on and off and this game goes 80 plus easy. Someone had an ebay auction for one that was in the low 50's so with about 9 seconds left I bid 77 bucks. The game ran up to 91. BINs on decent copies get listed for 90 to 120. a day later I found an $80 BIN that looked immaculate. I bought it. it's freaking the nicest game I have in my ps2 collection now. I'm thinking someone has had the book and cover reproduced because its shape for its age is too good. I'll have to research but I don't care, the disc alone can go for 80.

Lesser value but still awesome games I also picked up are Mario Maker for the wii u (I've got a copy but this one was in great shape for just a few dollars) The Witch and the Hundred Knight - Revival Edition (I really have a soft spot for Atlus games), Suikoden 4, The Gran Stream Saga, Kingdom Hearts, Grandia 1, 2, xenosaga episode 2, metal gear solid 3, and dawn of mana.

I've really been looking for a reason to refurb an old ps2 and maybe nows my chance. I've kept tons of ide drives and bought network adapters and fat ps2s every time I've seen them out so maybe I can play around with hd loader and skip out on some load times. I faintly remember someone figuring out how to get 1080i out of one but if that doesn't work out I've got a hd link cable that'll do 720p.

Outside of Call of Duty... I have bought 0 games as of late.  I haven't had a chance to play because I've been trying to pass a test... grrrr...

Steambot Chronicles... the name is familiar from a long time ago... but I just cannot remember the game.  Those are pretty solid purchases on the rest!

I purchased Nier: Automata after listening to every person that's ever played it rave and it didn't grab me. I found fallout 76 and final fantasy XV for five bucks and picked those up as well. Neither are screaming play me...

While I was out I preordered the steelbook version of ff7 as the hype there has been gaining momentum. That may be my next big time sink. In the mean time I may look back at the Switch, I never finished breath of the wild or links awakening

yard sales have been hard to find with Covid fears, but I was able to get out to a few this last weekend and found some great stuff.

15 old school computer games and pristine copies of the lord of the rings dvds with those collectors cards in tack for 19 bucks (darkseed 2 and a ton of stars wars and star trek stuff was in there)

a 2ds in box for 20, a ds lite for 10, and a ton of ds and 3ds games for 2 bucks each. I found some mario games i was missing, pokemon x and y, and mario party ds

Most of the ds stuff is going (or already is on ebay) but I didn't have mario party ds, pokemon x, mario kart 7 in the red box, mario ds, and mario party ds, so they'll make their way into the collection. I'm still not sure what to do with the old school computer games but there's some cool stuff, star wars galaxies and darkseed would be fun to revisit.

@targetrasp how is Hasbro Game Night?

@retro junkie ooo... Ikari Warriors 2. How are you liking that?

I also picked up Doom Eternal for a quick buck.  I'm looking into Doom Slayers Collection.   I'm wondering if Doom 2 on there is multiplayer... but I Don't think so.  I looked up a few things... but it appears only Doom 2016 is multiplayer.  I wish Doom2 was Multiplayer lol.   @Jack - do you have this?

Received an Xbox One S and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I really like the fact that a ton of 360 games are backwards compatible. It's not the newest console but the fact that I can play Red Dead Redemption again is awesome. Also, got the Master Chief collection and Halo 5 with it.

Might sign up for the Ultimate Game Pass. It's very tempting.

hasbro game night has three of the best board games by Hasbro, Risk, Trivial Pursuit, and Monopoly, and in retrospect was a stupid purchase since covid. My kids are 10 and 13 so Trivial Pursuit and Risk with them wouldn't be fun, so really all we've been able to pay is Monopoly. I've not taken it online yet, if you can play with friends that'd be awesome (finding friends that have it may be difficult though).

I did venture out and pick up Super Mario 3d World + Bowsers Fury and Ys 10 for the Switch and PS4 respectively. I've not played either yet, looking forward to carving some time out later today for one or both.
