I was looking some stuff up today... and just happened to run across a Youtube video where someone did a run on Gamer difficulty.    They made it look easier than it really is lol.

UN Squadron is one of my favorite Shoot em ups (Shmups) ever.  I thought this was a cool video... wanted to share.  This will not be the only UN Squadron topic - more will come - some comparisons as well from SNES to Arcade.  Speaking of Arcade, I'd like to find an arcade cabinet at some point.

Thoughts? Comments?  Post it up!

bumping this up.  This is still a really cool view.

The sound and music of this game will forever be burned in my mind as a super happy place.  This is one of my favorite games of all time.  The second stage in the clouds during the storm... pretty cool stage. The bonus stages are fun as well.  Hard to pick my favorite stage.

This got a bump because of @retro junkie's post relating it to UN Squadron:

@BLUEVOODU, your many praises concerning UN Squadron made me find a copy and play it. I got almost no where. It was so punishing I didn't play it long enough to do much. After watching the youtube video I still don't think I'd get very far. The stages are harder than the boss fights, and those are not easy.

@targetrasp - you know what... if you get some repetition in, they really are not that bad.  This game is more along the lines of a classic with patterns...etc.  For me, the 1st 3 stages (in any order) were lower to medium difficulty.  The sky stage took me a bit.. but I finally accomplished it. Now... once you get to the last 3-ish (maybe 4) missions... that's where the heat is cranked up.  The stages are very hard... but cool and well designed.   There are many cheap shots as well... but for some reason, I just really resonate with UN Squadron.
