Title: Final Fantasy Tactics
Post by: BLUEVOODU on September 30, 2025, 09:25:41 AM
It looks like Final Fantasy Tactics has just been released for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series and playstation 5.  This game looks rather cool. It's been a LONG time since I tried the original and memories have faded a bit.  However, I remember it being an enjoyable experience back then.  This game is on my radar for the future... I am a sucker for tactics games like this.

Have you played Final Fantasy Tactics?  What are your best memories of this game?  Are you excited for the new version?  I figure @Mai Valentine, @targetrasp and @retro junkie might have something to say on this topic lol  :great:

I don't recall enjoying this game.

I found it at a time where I'd just trudged through Shining Force 3, Dragon Force, Disgaea 2, and tactics ogre so in fairness I may have just been burned out on the genre.

People who enjoy tactics games have raved about it and IGN usually has it at the top of its lists so it's probably a great game and I'm sure I'll get around to playing it one day, although now I really want to break out Shinning Force.

I've started on this game on mobile a few times and while I do love it and may possibly get it the Switch version at some point, it came out a little close to Pokemon Legends ZA so I haven't gotten it yet.

@Mai Valentine -- is this something that is on your list?  Or is it a "eh, maybe" game?

@targetrasp -- you know... I thought for sure this was a big hit from the gaming golden years.  Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought this was a highly sought after game from the way back.  Maybe it doesn't track as well these days?
