Title: Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Nintendo Switch
Post by: BLUEVOODU on September 24, 2025, 05:35:19 PM
It appears they are launching Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 single pack for Nintendo Switch.  Both games are included.   This is a pretty cool package, however, the price is going to be $70.

If you already have the Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Nintendo Switch, then you already have Super Mario Galaxy on the Switch. The Super Mario 3D All-Stars is going to run you a lot of money these days, so if you do not have it, the Super Mario Galaxy 1 an 2 collection will be the best way to go.

It's cool they're releasing this... and they know people are going to pay.  I'm going to hold off, but I'm sure enough people are going to tell Nintendo to shut up and take their money lol  ???   ;D   I'm also wondering if this will become a rare gem... somewhat like Super Mario 3D All-Stars at this time.

This game comes out on October 2nd... here is our Amazon affiliate link:

I'm passing. Seems like people were correct in predicting that Galaxy 2 would be sold later when Nintendo didn't include it in the 3D All-Stars package.

And I believe that 3D All-Stars will have the inferior version of Galaxy 1. Nintendo won't upgrade it to the new version.

If I do change my mind to get it, I'll probably get a used copy for cheaper.

@CreepinDeth I think I want to add this to my collection at some point.  I tell you, I had the same thought.  In the Super Mario 3D All-Stars topic... I covered some of that.  It sucks they didn't have it on that collection.  Once they didn't include it, and it wasn't discovered as a secret on the cart, it was most certainly going to be released later on for more money.   Crazy part is... they put it with Galaxy 1.  It makes sense... and it's now accessible again as the Super Mario 3D All-Stars is very expensive now.

I sort of wonder if this is going to massively jump in price in the future as well.  Time will tell.

Maybe if I ever see it for cheaper sometime, as I've not played the galaxy games.  I'm not really a big fan of how Nintendo ports stuff though, they just slap it on a cart and throw it out there for full price.  I doubt I will actually ever find it for cheap enough for me to ever want to get it though because Nintendo tax and all.

yeah... I'm with you there.  However, I don't think this one will be available for a lower price.  I could be wrong... and maybe used in the near future it will be more available.  Hopefully that is the case.  I am a bit tempted to get it though as I think it'll keep its value well.

To be a little fair to Nintendo this time, they did actually make improvements for the current 4K era.

100% agree @CreepinDeth ... the 4k details are pretty cool, IMO.   The detailed comparison between the Mario 3D All Stars version and this Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 release is well done.   I was a little surprised and the changes did make a visual difference.

@Kinikko --> With these enhancements... is this more on your radar?
