General Discussion / Re: Avengers: EndGame

Saw it yesterday and if I had to describe it in one word it would be "Satisfying." From beginning to end everything came together beautifully and there was no wasted time. Every scene was impactful in one way or another.

I'm going to the first showing on Saturday. Currently, finishing up all of the Marvel movies. I'm on Spider-Man: Homecoming.

As a Top 6 poster, I refuse to be treated this way.

You got to break the top 5 if you want better treatment.  :P

For example, for a monthly price... you could play all Nintendo games ever made.

They can do that now but Nintendo won't, so I don't see this happening.

I haven't kept up with Stadia, to be honest. The reason I don't really pay attention to it is because our internet infrastructure is a joke (in the US at least.) I'm already sold for the most part on streaming gaming services, but unless our internet gets better and more reliable they're not going to succeed.

Also, it's Google, and they are known to abandon projects all the time. They have trouble focusing on their products and sometimes even undermine them with other products. Google will have to prove to me that they're in this for the long haul before I start relying on their streaming service for all of my gaming.

I try to use both. I, too, get lazy and want to just use the GUI but I force myself to use the Terminal since I never really learned it as well as I should have at this point. I got to keep fresh in case the GUI ever crashes on me.

Whoa... a mastermario sighting lol.

Makes sense for him to post here. Takes him about a year to do so, lol.  :P

I honestly can't wait. I'm so hyped! I've managed to successfully stay away from trailers. And now with the Fox merger being complete I'm more hyped for the what comes after.

Here is their second single from the same DoT album. I forgot to mention that I'll be seeing them this Sunday. It's the 20th anniversary of Scenes From A Memory and will be playing that whole album. I'm super stoked!

I thought it was decent. Not in my top 5 of Marvel movies but did some good things well and Brie Larson makes a great Captain Marvel. It felt a bit uneven though and her awesomeness seemed to have been subdued due to

being in Avengers: Endgame. Where she'll really get to stretch her powers.

Peruvian Skies is pretty good. Metropolis Pt. 1 and Panic Attack are tied for my favorite. Metropolis for being a prog masterpiece and Panic Attack for being such a great metal song. I recommend those two for sure for anyone trying to get into Dream Theater.

Dream Theater came out with an album recently, Distance Over Time. It's a really solid album in my opinion. It's more metal and not as prog-gy. It's also one of their shorter albums so it's an easier listen. Here is their first single -

@BLUEVOODU - I haven't tried it out yet. The Switch basically belongs to my wife now. I'll probably grab one when the new versions come out.

If I'm not mistaken, this is all because a lot of companies (*cough*Apple*cough*) still charge you for repairs even under warranty for certain things. So because of this, customers want to be able to take it somewhere else to fix their electronics for cheaper.

Seems like a comparable market would be auto manufacturers. You can either go to a dealer or go to your own shop and have them use official parts.

I feel it's reasonable in this case. If companies are still going to charge you to fix items even under warranty, I would prefer to get the best price I can.

No one is going to take that bet.

Happy Birthday, Retro!

Sorry BV, but I do not have a Wii U.

I don't think I have the attention span to play others as well. The concept would have interested me as a teenager but these days, not really.
#381
Thinking about picking this up but not sure if I have the attention span to make levels, lol. We'll see.  :)

I can see a case made for the TGFX-16. However, I don't see how any others would be viable. The games that are considered great or must-haves are low compared to the popular consoles. Does the Jaguar even have 5 games worthy of a classic console?

@CreepinDeth So the SSD fixed all the issues?  That's interesting as generally drives as the Western Digital Black perform well.

Yeah, it fixed the issue. Looks like the game streams a lot of assets. My hard drive is a tad old but it's not a Black drive. It might be a Green Drive actually. Either way, I saw one other person over at the resetera forums experience this so depending on age/type of drive, you're better off just installing on an SSD.

It really doesn't seem like a year.

Ditto. Happy Anniversary! Thanks for starting up another forum for us to bask in, BV.  ;D

@BLUEVOODU

Nah, I haven't picked it up yet. Not sure when to be honest. It's not at at the top of my list of purchases for the year. I'll definitely let you know if I do.
#388
@BLUEVOODU - I have not heard any new Judas Priest. I need to check it out.

I just don't get the motivation behind the characters' actions.

I can't comment on Infinite since I haven't played it yet but in Bioshock 1, the motivation is not subtle at all. You crash land on a place that you're unfamiliar with and you need to escape and go back home. Unfortunately, the place you ended up at has been turned to ruins due to there being no laws and no morality/ethics. The people of Rapture went insane due to this and they become extremely hostile. And because of those ideologies, there is still a war going on and you get caught in the middle of it because you're connected to those who live there.

I don't want to get too deep as I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't played it (even if it is over a decade old.)

I honestly feel the N64 should be the final one. At this point we're getting into the era of 3D and most of the great games have either been ported to current/last gen already or are being remade.
