I'm with Targetrasp. The pandemic has shown how this country really is, and that's selfish. Many countries were able to handle covid much better than us. Rather than the country coming together to fight the disease as best as possible, it gets politically weaponized.

Our Federal government failed us and we shouldn't have been in this position in the first place. What the states had to do was a reaction to that failure. We should've been celebrating alongside New Zealand right about now on not having any covid cases. And yes, I do understand they're an island and that definitely helps, but as the strongest nation in the world we should've been just as good at fighting this virus.

Now with that said, I'm not venturing out anytime soon. I'll always wear a mask in public and try to limit human contact as much as possible. I have my wife anyways and that's all I really need in terms of human contact.

I understand opening up and wanting life to go back to normal but I really feel it's still early. It's Summer and I think late July would've been a better time to do it. Let the people who want to risk themselves for a holiday get it over with and then we could've all probably moved on.

They look awesome. No way I can get anymore right now though. If they were closer to $50 then I might bite on one.

I still bump up against the legality of it all... It'd be awesome just to google a title, download an iso or a rom or a bin, pop it onto a usb and play, instead there's all this copyright law, and debate whether or not I'm allowed to circumvent protection to back up items i own. It's been a while since I've kept paid attention to the emulation scene, so it may be different now.

I get it and unfortunately it's never going to be black and white one way or the other. The way copyright is handled has always been a mess from all countries invovled, so it's cool if that's how you feel.

For me, if a game is out of circulation and I own it, then I have no problem getting the game. Collector's who want lots of money for an actual copy is all well and good but the developers don't see that money anyways and it all goes to the seller. I don't emulate current gen or last gen games since those are still readily available brand new.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago. It's sitting pretty with all of the other minis. I did annoy me that Amazon didn't even bother to package it in a box. They just slapped the shipping label on the box itself and shipped it like that. Oh well, fortunately it was destroyed.

The idea is great but I'm sure it's going to get expensive if you want even just 3 or 4 of those modules. You're already $400 in the hole without any cartridge support.

I know I sound like a broken record again, but I'll just emulate on my PC and buy some nice controllers for each specific console.

Just been playing GTA IV. So my backlog is still the same.

Great! I bought a cooler master 212 black CPU cooler and now it doesn't go above 73 degrees at full load. I noticed that in Rise of the Tomb Raider I got much better frame times. It doesn't have microstuttering that I kept getting with my i5 and i7.

They only gaming related thing I received was a $200 gift certificate to a new, local retro game store from my wife. I'm super stoked!

it could be some voltage settings... more voltage = more heat. If you're idling hot updated chipset drives can sometimes fix whatever it is that's got the voltage wrong, or less optimized. All this is crap you already know, it's just a pain trying to find the fix specific to your build.

Yep, you're pretty spot on. From my research, the high temps are within spec. If I'm understanding everything correctly, voltages are high in order to reach certain frequencies and Zen 2 7nm chips being so small get hot even faster than bigger dies (I've seen my temps go from 30 degrees to almost 60 degrees in less than a second.)

I ended up buying and installing a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition. I would have loved to have gotten a Noctua but they're almost double the price. If I upgrade to a 3950X, I'll definitely be getting one though.

My fiancé has been using a half-broken laptop for a year, so I convinced her that a solid gaming laptop was a good idea.  We decided on getting her an Asus Tuf with a Ryzen proc and GTX 1650 graphics card.  Of course, the condition was that I would get to borrow it sometimes.

Speaking of this... I'm really hoping to build a new pc next year.  I bought a Dell G15 about 1-1.5 years ago to tide me over.   I highly recommend the laptop ... it's one of the best deals out there for Gaming laptops.   It's a tad larger, but keeps cool under most circumstances.  High intensity gaming... just make sure you're playing on a table tap to not roast the nuggets    I've had the PC itch for a long time... but my 5 year old build still plays pretty much everything at max settings at 1080p.  I just haven't had a good excuse to build... that and I really didn't want to spend the money again.

Prices are very good right now. AMD is basically competing with themselves and their last generation chips are almost half off brand new right now. I was debating hard on whether to get a Ryzen 5 2600 for $115 vs the 3600 but I went with the newer part. The 2600 is still a great CPU today.

You should check out some PC build videos. You can get plenty of bang for your buck.

I don't do any gaming on a PC. It is just not my thing. I have been pretty content with my Mac mini and Macbook pro 2012. These serve my needs of word processing, net surfing, drawing with krita or PS, photo editing, working out my budget, just lite weight stuff.

The great thing about AMD chips right now is that they're not just good for gaming but are beasts for productivity. If you plan to upgrade in the future, you'll fine plenty of good deals on some of these chips years down the line and they would serve you extremely well.

I've officially jumped back to AMD. Went with a Ryzen 5 3600X since it was only $5 more than the regular 3600 and paired it with an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard.

It's funny, I started the decade with an AMD Athlon dual core and almost immediately switched to Intel when their Sandy Bridge CPUs were released. Which I have been using ever since and now I'm ending the decade with a Ryzen chip.

Now, I have to figure out if the high temps I'm getting are normal or if I need a better cooler. I'm using the stock cooler and every review pretty much says that the stock cooler is adequate. I'm not so sure. Under full load I'm hitting 85 degrees celsius. 

I don't have D3 nor PlayStation Plus to play MW online.

Why couldn't online be free on PS4 just like PS3? Bleh. 

I'm opposite. I really enjoy The Mandalorian. Mostly because it doesn't feel like a Star Wars property like Targetrasp mentioned. I personally love the soundtrack. It's not over-the-top epic symphony like the Movies. It's down and dirty, almost Nine Inch Nails, industrial-like and fits the atmosphere perfectly.

The only thing I somewhat dislike is the forced cuteness but it's better than Jar-Jar by miles and is actually really relevant to the story.

It's got more human elements than the Star Wars movies that try so hard to nail.

I officially have over 900 titles on my Steam account. Still can't decide what to play.

Why would anyone play it? It's a collector's piece. 

I was somewhat tempted to open mine up but I just couldn't do it.

Rewatched it in 4K/HDR. Sooooooo goooooood!!

If you're willing to shell out a bit more money, I've heard good things about the RetroTINK. It's $99 but works with any console that has Composite/S-Video/Component outputs. I'm thinking of picking this up.

DF Retro just did a video on an N64 adapter that has just released and the RetroTINK was mentioned.

Haven't had a chance to read the article yet but AMD is coming out so strong with Ryzen 3 that this might be too late. If I build a PC with an SoC it's going to be an AMD Ryzen 3 chip.

GameStop also missed the boat on digital and are now having to play catch-up (which they won't be able to).

This is what it is right here. They were never going to catch up to digital in the first place and there are finally enough digital consumers to make a difference. Why pay the same price at GS when you can just go to the source and pay the same amount and not have to go outside? You can't trade in digital games either, so each digital purchase is one more nail in their coffin. They do sell digital goods, but they probably pay a cut to the first parties and developers on top of their razer-thin margins on new items.

Digital is a no-win situation for GS.

I haven't had a chance as well. I wanted to use it for emulation but the deeper I go the more I realize Windows has the better software support.

I will return eventually. I like to show love to it when I can. Open Source needs more love.

I forgotten about Micro Machines. I don't know why but I enjoy miniature version of things. I remember there were TMNT mini figures and playsets that were self contained in bigger TMNT figures. It was like Mighty Max/Polly Pocket. But those were in the '90's.

Even though I was born in the early '80's, I think the '90's is where I really started to enjoy toys and cartoons more. I honestly don't remember what I liked back then other than Voltron.

@AngelBob -- Isn't this the game that where it turns GPS locations into bases and what not.  You then have to take them over from other people?

It is. They're the ones who also co-developed Pokemon Go.

Not sure if anyone has pre-ordered yet but it's up on Amazon. Priced at $99 and releases March 20th. You don't get charged until it ships.

I may be a bit biased since Spidey is my favorite comic book superhero, but man, this film was great. The first half may seem a bit slow but the second half is pretty much perfection in my eyes. They finally got Spider-Man right in my opinion.

I suggest everyone see it. 

I plan on picking it up sometime this year, lol. Saving my money for the new mini consoles being released this year first.

I've been using Macs off and on since the early '90's. My first personal computer was one of the first PowerPC Macs back in '93/'94?

I've always liked OS9 and OSX, just not enough to spend the money on it for every time I needed to upgrade. I still remember when people would wonder why I had a Mac but now more than 2 decades later and the world can't stop gushing over Apple. It's been pretty weird for me.

For desktops, I prefer to build my own PC. You can control every aspect and it comes out cheaper. However, on the laptop side I'm thinking of getting another Macbook Pro. The advantage of MacOS is that it gets you from point A to point B without a lot of fuss. Which is what I need in a laptop. I need my portable to be ready to go. I want low boot up times and little OS overhead. They also tend to have some of the best battery lives in comparison to Windows machines.

So I think you did good Retro. I feel MacOS works best when you don't try to think about what is going on under the hood or what you can customize or change. Just treat it as a simple computer and you'll be fine.

So far from what I've seen, the PC-E in Japan does have Rondo of Blood but no mention if it's going to be on the TG-16. Still researching.
