Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch 2 Edition and Free Update

Wut wuut... I was pretty surprised that this was announced!  Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Free Update.  The Switch 2 version shows graphical updates, Switch 2 mouse features, additional online people and new items.  The free update to Version 3.0 is pretty cool and there are a bunch of changes!  There's also a new resort being added.

Both are coming out January 15th, 2026.  This was announced today:

Either way, this game is pretty much 5 years old now. It's hard to believe that much time has passed... and I haven't put much time into this game.  Are you excited for the updates?  What are you looking forward to?

LOL... the villager comments are hilarious.  They break out the surprised emotion and then they're like... "I haven't seen you in forever!"  and "Don't do that again!" 

A LONNNGGG time ago, We got a few site members to join up in towns in Animal Crossing Wild World.  I know there were complaints about how long it took to join towns on the Switch version.  I wonder if Switch 2 took care of that. You can now have 12 players (not just 8 ).  SO... it would be cool if we could get several members to join towns. 

I'm definitely going to buy the Switch 2 update.

I need to get that out and get into it again. First thing I will need to do is kill all the bugs in the house and then weed the lawns.
