@BLUEVOODU - This would probably be better in the retro gaming section.
@CreepinDeth you got it!

So... can the gaming library be expanded?  IE can you add more library packs or whatever to the PlayStation Classic to expand the gaming library?

This is a good idea @Bomber Man .  I will take a look to see what I can find.

thank you for the suggestion.

Yeah... I've had a problem completing Expert as well.  So... no... I've actually not completed an Expert 100 Mario Challenge yet  :asdds:

I've come close MANY times.

Super Smash BRothers Wii U is pretty good.  My favorite before Super Smash Bros Wii U is Super Smash Brothers Melee on the Gamecube.    I highly recommend that for the Gamecube if / when you revisit titles on the Gamecube.

They definitely play different than a Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, Tekken...etc.  But they are pretty good fighters.

Interesting.... they definitely have a cool way of updating the game.  I'll give them that.  Some of it is crazy, a lot doesn't, doesn't make sense... but there's a lot to do.   The game modes are definitely fun - Such as Infiniti Gauntlet mode.

Keep an eye out and let us know what's coming in Season 6.

lol... @targetrasp why do I feel like this is sarcasm?  What is this Indi Gogo Campaign you mention?

IF it looks like a duck, quakes like a duck, It is a ....       I'm generally ok missing something I don't think is a good opportunity.  Even if it becomes a good one... I don't look back.  In the sense of video games, I would buy it if it turned out to be good, I suppose.  But time is limited.
#2110
There probably isn't  My tastes have actually changed more in the reverse direction of yours. Even since I ran the previous site.  Part of this is due to my stupid adulting opportunities LOL.

I haven't broke mine out in years.   I think it's time to revisit it.

I never had a chance to play this game.... I know.... never played the original Super Smash Brothers?!    I've always wanted to, but back then I had other things going on and gaming fell to the wayside.

Good review, @retro junkie I enjoyed reading it.  Nintendo is absolutely the king in establishing likeable characters.  This is undisputed.   And even better... they made a game where they fight and it's even more fun!

My question to you is:  Did you enjoy any other Super Smash Brothers entry in the series?

Good stuff Retro!

I dig Studio Ghibli a lot ... that's a good reference.  This game looks really cool... I forgot about it after this post and it's been awhile.

The Ni No Kuni 2 premium edition - Playstation 4 game is now $37 on Amazon.  This includes the Steelbook and a few other things.  I'm thinking about purchasing this title.

I looked out there and was trying to figure out what gave the game a Teen rating.  I cannot find a good image of the back cover right now.  @Aya-Kun and @targetrasp  - What gives this game its "teen" rating?

gamestop has it online - I guess i'll have to go through them, although last time I ordered one of the classics through them they charged insane for shipping
@targetrasp  I'm hesitating buying from Gamestop.   Look like Amazon has it now as well BUT it's not activated either.  I'm curious as to why Amazon.com and BestBuy.com don't have it activated... yet Gamestop does.

It is sad... we need more competition out there and Sega has many good IPs.  Are those IPs relevant today?  It depends I suppose... depends on how the games and characters are developed.

While this is just a blip on the map - Hopefully they keep moving forward.  It would be cool to see new Innovation from Sega.  It would also be cool to see a US release of Switch Phantasy Star Online  ;D  I'd pre-order it now.

There's the option to add PS+ games to your library so you can still download them later without worrying about space right away!
]
@Strubes Where is that option?
#2116
This is a fun game - My son showed me this one.   IF I remember right, he would spawn in a T-Rex that would eat everyone LOL.

I like this title.  It was fun to play and watch him play as well.

@CreepinDeth So it became an uber collectors edition.  Nice.

@targetrasp it's hard to know what versions will retain value and not.  You know... I had a TON of Terminator 2 for the Super Nintendo New/Sealed and discounted many of them when selling off my business.   They now are going for a pretty penny on Ebay.    It is what it is.  For my sake, I needed to close the business and clean everything up to have a clean slate.   Looking at Prices now, I wish I kept some of those items LOL.  :))
#2118
@CreepinDeth In this particular case, I was supposed to get the game 2 days ahead... not 1.  The Croft Steelbook Edition was launched 9-12-18 and the regular edition was launched 9-14-18.  You paid extra and received the game 2 days early.

In the case of my order... Amazon stated it came "a day late" because I ordered coffee with the game.   I just had to buy coffee.

Interesting @targetrasp ... It somewhat looks like Muramasa - art style wise.

I meant to post this awhile back... It's an interesting read, but nothing surprising.

SEGA's Latest Financial Report Reveals Slump In Sales - Nintendolife.com

This is a pretty general statement:
QuoteThis follows a first quarter where sales and profits across the board have generally slowed for the Japanese company.

Sega is holding on.... that's good.  Thoughts?  Comments? Post it up!

September 16, 2018, 03:25:55 PM
I have to say... I want MARTH lol... I know... not original.

Isabelle showing u in Super Smash Bros Ultimate on the Wii U is interesting.  It is very surprising to throw that character in... but it's also funny..  It's a pretty funny video.  Thank you for sharing this.
#2122
@retro junkie lol - I had the same reaction as @Kinikko and had to look up the game.  Lol wth is this game?!

That's interesting - Demaking a game is a thing lol. At last that's what they call it.   It looks good on your handheld NES - 8 bit boy. Nice screen.
#2123
Yeah. That's always been the issue  with used DS, gba, Game Boy, and other handheld / mobile formats.   They aren't complete.

Although when a kid loses their game but still has the original materials for the lost one... it comes in handy lol

I was seriously thinking about, still not sure. I fade in and out, very wishy washy. Right now I have ordered a scan line generator. I am going to see just how successful it is before I make a permanent decision. Scan lines is the one thing that caused me to really want one. With a generator I can use it across all retro systems. But then again the Analogue Super Nt has a very small foot print and will accept both US and Japan carts. Then again I have the real thing both SNES and Super Famicom. Hmmmm.......I can think of good points for both pros and cons. I will probably end up with one.  :))

@retro junkie   there's a scanline generator?! I didn't realize that was a thing.

@targetrasp I get that - my Snes collection hasn't changed a lot.  I added a few over the years though.

My wallet is coughing at this point in time... so I'll have to wait.

lol @Kinikko ... you and @mastermario ... I tell ya.

You know... I wonder if a physical copy of that game would ACTUALLY retain value lol.

As far as entering captcha for PM.. do you have to do that every time?  You shouldn't have to.  PLease let me know.   So you feel this system shows it's age?

Part of the idea I had would be a site under a different name... but we would cover gaming AS MUCH if not more than here (meaning more boards).  It would cover a tech idea I had.. as well as a small beginning of other ideas.  I've already received several points of interest to do this.

Either way, we need to make sure we maintain somewhat of an active crowd by many members to ensure more continue to join.

@Kinikko - we aren't necessarily changing cdg to a new site right now.   I was thinking of combining all site ideas right now into a new site.  This is still on the table and the games section would be expanded kind of like it was before with a bunch more sections.  But right now...  I'm not sure.

This discussion is more around staying on the software for cdg or moving to something else - for cdg. We are a limited right now.  If I do a portal...  that alleviates some things, but I tested it out don't dig how it works.

The new software would allow a gallery, better posting capabilities for reviews and codes in a resources section.   Plus there are social integrations... some integrations with discord .... Etc. But I do have a fondness of simple machines and if I had the other integrations, I wouldn't be having this conversation.

Does that make more sense?
#2128
All,

Please post up your thoughts.  I dig Simple Machines Forums... I like how the operate... but there are some limitations.  Part in my current knowledge to move certain aspects faster, and part in what connects with Simple Machines.  I'm looking to see if I am able to get around this with maybe Drupal and combining SMF.  The Drupal forums lack HARD.

The other option right now is Xenforo... which has a resources add-on that's a pseudo Content management system.   It works nice, but I still favor Simple Machines a bit after a few demo attempts.  It does make life easier creating review / documentation type content.  I'm also looking into this for another site.   This will cost $250-580- ish (somewhere in there).  That's 1 time unless I need to update in 1 year and that's on top of domain/hosting expenses.

I need to decide before moving forward on other projects.  Plus I need to get more of the social media sites setup and aiming back here.

If you haven't logged on in awhile... come back, post up, and stay awhile.  I would like to hear from as many members as possible (even if you aren't super active).

Thank you for your input,

@Kinikko Weird... yeah I see that.   I'm still looking into what that special edition console and controller were for.  It's a 2TB hard drive Pro system ... and seems to have A LOT of interest behind it.  It's high in value as well.  The full console packages are going for a $1000+ it seems.

#2130
@targetrasp not exactly... it's more linear than open world.... but within that linear line, you are able to attack and break many world objects.   There are lots of objects to web throw and interact with.  You can basically walk and climb on anything.
