Cloud Gaming / Re: Status of Cloud Gaming - 2...
Last post by BLUEVOODU - February 28, 2026, 10:33:21 AM
Bumping this up.  Have any of you tried any of the cloud services?  I thought maybe @CreepinDeth @trkorecky @Polygon would have some experiences with them.  Curious on if they are worth trying out or what the status is at this point.

It seems with the price or RAM and Disks right now... hardware prices increases, and the verbiage of business leaders seemingly pushing more hardware as a service (HaaS) scenarios... there is a chance these will potentially start taking off more

Post it up!

Pretty crazy... on 02/27/26, Pokemon Turned 30!  I started playing Pokémon back when it 1st came out.  I believe it was the Blue version, but ended up owned the Red and Yellow versions as well.  I remember putting a lot of playtime in this game during a snowstorm and had a lot of down time lol.   Downtime... those were the days.  Not really sure what Downtime is today.

I ended up getting the IceBlue Game Boy (not color) as mentioned in a Thread here.  I thought that came with Pokemon, but that may have been Zelda where I then also bought Pokémon at the same time.  I'll have to find the box as I still have that as well.  That was the console I used once I bought it... the slim version was extremely handy and easier to tote around.  I remember giving my Pokémon ridiculous names lol... but was it a lot of fun!  :great:   There's also a new Pokémon game called  Pokémon Pokopia - topic coming soon.

Nintendo page for the event:
https://www.nintendo.com/us/whatsnew/happy-pokemon-day-everyone-lets-celebrate-30-years-of-pokemon/

Video from the Nintendo Article:

As a part of the "celebration" they also discussed the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC:

Hard to believe it's been 30 years.  Time sure flies!  What are your memories of Pokémon and what have you enjoy over all the years of Pokémon?  Thoughts,  comments... post it up!

@retro junkie - I have a Early edition as well and was able to find the Sony branded 64GB memory card ... eventually... that worked well for storing all my games.

Interesting... I didn't play the World of Final Fantasy - we might need a topic on that.  I see the price new still hovers around $31.  I might look into that title.

I used to use the remote play on PS3.. and it worked decently (a bit better) with the PS4, thought the Vita buttons weren't totally mapped right for Call of Duty style games.  I was playing PS4 games from my bed many times though lol.  Yes, there were disconnects at inopportune times.  Though those were not so bad.  I also used the Vita to message people in the network as it was MUCH easier to type and get messages out on the VITA than from the PlayStation console and controller.

Support was a very odd thing with the Vita.  I couldn't totally understand how it received such a low support level from 3rd party developers.  It really did seem like a good platform.  Maybe there was issues with development or something.  I know Nintendo didn't help by cornering most of the market.

@targetrasp --> Those are great mentions!  Fable... that game was so popular.  I remember when it came out... it just took off and became a favorite for many people.  I cannot remember who right now (frustrating as I know it), but back in the EGA days, it was someone's avatar as well.  I don't think I played Black and White and have forgot about it. We might need a post on that  ;)  :great:  And Actraiser... such an amazing game back in the day.

I was thinking about a series the other day, read it was slated to come back, came back to PSN and was taken off.  I cannot find the remastered version (if they even existed outside of PSN.. and I don't think they did).  They became another victim of deleting a game off a platform from what I read.  This series is Resistance.  What a great series... I thoroughly enjoyed playing those games.  Resistance: Fall of Man played a little weird... but I still played through it.  Resistance 2 and 3 became better IMO.  I miss this series.  It is probably gone for good (hopefully not).

@MegaDrive20XX @Mai Valentine @Kinikko @Jack @Snatcher_L @indycazador @XFaKToRX  --> What are your thoughts? Would love to get your opinions.

@Frodus - would love to hear from that guy again lol.

@retro junkie Now that's pretty cool. I dig this -  Black and White as well!  That was my favorite version.  From the back, it almost looks like they include the color as well lol... which imo would be cool to have both.

I have cancelled Disney+ as well.  Prices went up, I was laid off last year for several months, and we recouped money from a few services.  After I found a new job, we did not pick these services back up.  Everyone once in awhile... we might do 1 month to binge something and then cancel because we get digital credits with prime (where you have to buy digital items).  I only have Prime right now.

Quote from: retro junkie on February 25, 2026, 02:32:19 PMedit: and I really got into the fact that I could pull it out and take a 3D picture wherever I went. Love the camera feature on these things. Yeah I know it was poor quality, but it was still a thing.

I completely forgot about the 3D picture LOL... that was a really cool feature!  This many years later, they could've made a camera and hardware to make that much better.  Still... that was a very unique feature (IE I don't think I know of anything else that did it).

Remember the VR cards?  We need a topic on those. That's also something of the past.

As I mentioned in the Nintendo Stops Production of the 3DS thread, I wish there was a newer smaller (thinner basically) 3DS that came out.  Even the 3DS had a fairly thick shell (reminds me of a Tommy Boy quote lol  :)) )... and a thinner shell these days could be achieved maybe with bigger improved screens.

What about you @Mai Valentine, @targetrasp, @Kinikko ... did you ever get into the Xenoblade series?

I remember many getting into the Xenoblade series many years back.  It was a highly sought after game.

PC Gaming and Platform / Brotato - Have you played?
Last post by BLUEVOODU - February 28, 2026, 08:08:53 AM
I recently bought Brotato on Steam and haven't played it a ton yet.  @targetrasp and I were talking about breaking it out multiplayer to see if we can do achievements.

This is a run and gun style game in the same vein as Smash TV and Total Carnage... and other games of that Genre (I would consider Geometry Wars Galaxies very similar as well).  You run on a "square" floor and have to avoid mobs coming at you from all directions.  You end up shooting in all directions like the mentioned genre examples.  There are plenty of achievements, the graphics are pretty good, music is fitting and the action is extremely smooth and satisfying.  The price sits at about $4 ... or $8ish with all DLC.

Overall this is a cool game.  Have you played it?

We should get a session going again with @CreepinDeth @mastermario @SpartanEvolved @Grindspine @MegaDrive20XX @targetrasp and @Jack (I think was interesting)... and wondering if we could get a few others as well to get a session going.

It's been several months.  I've had a lot of personal stuff since late December and time has been killed.  However, It would be awesome to get a session or two of this moving forward
