General Discussion / Re: Happy 4th of July - 2025!

I had grilled hamburgers over charcoal with hickory wood chips. I love smoking those burgers.  ;D

Watched fireworks out our picture window from the neighbors down the street.

Happy 4th to everyone.

yeah... this one is growing me.   The last one was the standard SMF theme.  It was a little outdated... however works well.   Unless you mean the last theme that we were using before the issues hit.  That one did feel a bit outdated as well and had a few formatting issues.

I'd like to find one that's better than a little better though.  I am thinking we will start here and start to grow as this theme works 100% - no tertiary issues right now.

Quote from: BLUEVOODU on July 04, 2025, 02:13:17 PM@CreepinDeth  --> That generally was the older WEP that you needed.  What you can do... you can chain an older wep router to your more secure setup via LAN cable... and just feed your WEP devices that way.  I wouldn't keep it on if you're in a populated area.  However, that's how I used to do things.  I believe it's still achievable these days.

That's a cool workaround but I would need the older WEP router, which I no longer have. It's okay though, no reason to connect those devices online anymore.

Quote from: retro junkie on July 04, 2025, 04:07:21 PM@CreepinDeth just purchased this game last week I do not know the history of the game.

It's possible the game sat around not being played by the original owner and then probably sat around some more until you bought it. Not sure if you can fix it. I would recommend returning it if the return policy is still in effect.

Quote from: BLUEVOODU on July 04, 2025, 03:16:10 PM@CreepinDeth --> Thank you for your feedback!  If you had to vote, would you vote to keep it for another week or revert to the old theme?  I'm looking for another theme as I'm not sure we will be able to return to the older theme unless it's updated... OR if I have the time to create something like it from scratch, OR create something newer from scratch

I actually do like it a little more than the previous theme. I think the previous theme, although decent, felt a little outdated.

This theme is growing on me more for sure... I've been working with several items today.  I plan to keep moving forward on a few pieces.

I may play around with different colors as well as other features.

@retro junkie - not that I'm aware of!  I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

The key-cards make me suspicious and skeptical. At anytime, not that they would do it, they could fix it so that if you decided to sell that key-card, the one who purchased it from you, would have to repurchase the game. Or they could make it non transferable. I know that Nintendo's intentions are stopping piracy by requiring the key card to play the game. An inconvenience for anyone desiring digital only.
and I agree with CreepinDeth and feel the same as SpartanEvolved

I will probably wait for a switch 2 lite? Here is hoping for some type of price drop on games, used? I will watch prices on the Switch 1 to see if that drop. Might finally pick one up to go with my Switch lite.  :happydance:

At some point several years ago I switched to a Galaxy A01 phone simply because TracFone offered it for $15. This week I was set free of that horrid monstrosity! I finally switched back to an iphone. I am now sporting an iphone SE 3rd generation. It feels so good.
